Description
本願は、2007年9月20に出願された“Load Support Structure(荷重支持構造)”という名称の米国仮特許出願第60/994,737号に基づく優先権を主張しており、当該米国仮特許出願は、その全開示内容が本明細書に参考として組み入れられている。
1.目的
1.1 シートフレーム内のサスペンション材料の支持力を判定すること
1.1.1 この試験は、可撓性の気泡材料−厚板の接着された発泡材及び成形された発泡材のためのASTM標準試験:番号D 3574−91,試験B1に基づいて行われる。この試験は、製造時の外皮の張力を監視するために開発された試験装置に適応するように修正されている。
1.1.2 この試験は、元々はアーロンチェア(Aeron chair)のために開発されたものであった。
2.テスト試料
2.1 フレーム、サスペンション材料及び通常のアセンブリ構成部品を含んでいるフレームアセンブリ
3.装置
3.1 6±1インチ(15.24センチメートル±2.54センチメートル)/分及び約2インチ(5.08センチメートル)/分の速度で増加する荷重をかけることができる機械
3.2 荷重がかかる領域がほぼ水平になるようにテスト試料を支持するための固定具
3.3 平らな中央部分と湾曲した外周とを備えた円形のロードヘッドTD−128
4.方法
4.1 テスト試料を、荷重がかかる領域がほぼ水平となる状態でシートフレームを支持するように取り付ける。
4.2 別の方法が特定されない限り、TD−128の中心下方に試料の幾何学的中心を位置決めする。
4.3 試験される領域を、2倍の速さで下がるTD−128によって、分当たり6″±1″(15.24cm±2.54cm)の割合で2.0″±0.1″(5.08cm±2.54cm)の撓みまで予め撓ませる。
4.4 試料を、予め撓ませた後に荷重をかけないで6±1分間休ませる。
4.5 TD−128をサスペンション材料と接触状態にして1lbs(0.907キログラム)未満又は予荷重での開始点を決定する(基準点=撓み量0)
4.6 試料に2インチ(5.08cm)/分の割合で2.0″±0.1″(5.08cm±2.54cm)の撓みが得られるまで荷重をかける。
4.7 TD−128を60±3秒間定位置に保持して結果的に得られた力を記録する。
4.8 TD−128を取り外し且つ構成部品の変化を書き留める。

Claims (24)
- 荷重支持構造であり、
幅方向で間隔をあけられた一対のビームであって、それぞれのビームが、垂直面内において相対的に隔置され、間に隙間を有する、第一の材料によって形成されている第1及び第2のビーム部材を備えており、該第1及び第2のビーム部材が、それぞれ、水平に延びた部分及び垂直部分を有し、垂直部分は背もたれを形成し、水平に延びた部分はシート支持部を形成し、垂直位置とリクライニング位置との間で動くときに曲げ弾性変形する、第一及び第二のビームと、
複数の結合部材であって、各々が前記隙間に橋渡しされており且つ前記第一のビーム部材に結合された第一の端部と第二のビーム部材に結合された第二の端部とを有しており、該複数の結合部材のうちの少なくとも幾つかが前記第一の材料とは異なる第二の材料によって形成されており、前記一対のビームが前記垂直位置から前記リクライニング位置に間で動くときに、張力が掛けられるようにされている、前記複数の結合部材と、
前記一対のビームに結合され且つこれらのビーム間に延びており且つ体支持面を形成している可撓性の膜と、
を備えた荷重支持構造。 - 前記第一の材料が前記第二の材料よりも剛性が高い、請求項1に記載の荷重支持構造。

- 前記第2材料がエラストマ材料とされている、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記第一の材料が、ガラス充填ナイロン、非充填ナイロン、ガラス充填ポリプロピレン、非充填ポリプロピレン、ポリカーボネート、ポリカーボネート/ABS混合物及びアセタールからなる群から選択されたものである、請求項19に記載の荷重支持構造。
- さらに体支持面を形成する可撓性膜を前記第1ビーム部材に結合する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも幾つかの前記結合部材が少なくとも上方又は下方湾曲部分を有する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記第1及び第2ビーム部材を成形するときに、前記垂直部分の端部を連結して前記ビーム部材を単一の一体成形する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記第1及び第2ビーム部材を成形するときに、前記第1及び第2ビーム部材のそれぞれの外側部分を前記第1材料から成形し、前記第1及び第2ビーム部材のそれぞれの内側部分を前記外側部分の上に前記第2材料からオーバーモールドして、前記内側部分が前記複数の結合部材と相互結合するようにする、請求項17に記載の方法。
