Description
本発明は、少なくとも1つの超硬耐摩耗性体をその端に含む工具インサートを生産する方法に関する。
本発明によって工具インサートを生産する方法が提供され、その方法は、
(a)その中に複数の凹部を有する基材を提供するステップと、
(b)各凹部の中に実質的に凹部と同じサイズおよび形状の超硬耐摩耗性体を配置するステップと、
(c)超硬耐摩耗性体を基材に鑞付けするステップと、
(d)超硬耐摩耗性体を含む複数の凹部を通って基材を切断し、その端に少なくとも1つの超硬耐摩耗性体が結合した基材の1区画を含む、少なくとも1つの工具インサートを生産するステップとを含む。
本発明の要点は、工具インサート、より一般的には単一の鑞付け作業によって複数の類似した工具インサートを生産する方法である。この方法は、その中に複数の凹部を有する基材を提供するステップと、各凹部の中に実質的に凹部と同じサイズおよび形状の超硬耐摩耗性体、例えばPCD、PCBN、またはCVDダイアモンドを配置するステップと超硬耐摩耗性体を基材に鑞付けするステップと、超硬耐摩耗性体を含む複数の凹部を通って基材を切断して少なくとも1つの工具インサートを生産し、各工具インサートが、その端に少なくとも1つの超硬耐摩耗性体を結合した基材の1区画を含むステップとを含む。

Claims (10)
- 工具インサートを生産する方法であって、
(a)その中に複数の凹部を有する基材を提供するステップと、
(b)各凹部の中に実質的に凹部と同じサイズおよび形状の超硬耐摩耗性体を配置するステップと、
(c)超硬耐摩耗性体を基材に鑞付けするステップと、
(d)超硬耐摩耗性体を含む複数の凹部を通って基材を切断し、その端縁に少なくとも1つの超硬耐摩耗性体が結合した基材の1区画を含む複数の工具インサートを生産するステップとを含み、
鑞の層を前記凹部の底部と超硬耐摩耗性体の表面との間に配置し、温度を上昇させて前記底部と前記表面とを互いに鑞付けするようにする方法。
- 前記各工具インサートが、その端縁に2つ以上の超硬耐摩耗性体を有する基材の1区画を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記鑞付けが、真空鑞付けまたは減圧または空気の制御された雰囲気中での鑞付けである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記超硬耐摩耗性体を複数の凹部の中に同時に鑞付けする請求項1から請求項3までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記凹部を整列パターンに配置する請求項1から請求項4までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記凹部を離隔された行と列で配置する請求項1から請求項5までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記凹部の中の前記超硬耐摩耗性体が、露出した頂部面を有し、少なくともいくつかの凹部に隣接する領域の基材が超硬耐摩耗性体の上部面よりも低く、少なくともいくつかの超硬耐摩耗性体に隣接する負のチップ・ブレーカー面を有する工具インサートを提供する請求項1から請求項6までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記凹部の中の前記超硬耐摩耗性体が露出した頂部面を有し、少なくともいくつかの凹部に隣接する領域の基材が超硬耐摩耗性体の上部面よりも高く、少なくともいくつかの超硬耐摩耗性体に隣接する正のチップ・ブレーカー面を有する工具インサートを提供する請求項1から請求項6までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記超硬耐摩耗性体がPCD、PCBN、またはCVDダイアモンドである請求項1から請求項8までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記基材が焼結炭化物から作られる請求項1から請求項9までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
