HfO2を0.1〜7.5質量%
CaOを1.5〜7質量%
ZrF4を5質量%以下(但し、0を除く)
を満たし、前記成分の合計が少なくとも92.01質量%である。
本発明の第3の観点によれば、光学ガラスは、前記SrOが1〜9質量%であることが望ましく、屈折率(nd)が1.70より大きく、1.90以下であり、ガラス転移温度(Tg)が500〜600℃であることが望ましい。
(ガラス作製)
ガラスは、純度99.5%H3BO3と試薬用La2O3、ZnCO3、ZrO2、SrCO3、SiO2、BaF2、BaO、HfO2、CaO、ZrF4、Na2O、Y2O3を、表1に示すように調合した原料を溶融して得た。前記H3BO3は、B2O3換算して調合した。これと同様に、前記ZnCO3およびSrCO3は、それぞれZnO換算およびSrO換算して調合した。表1はLa2O3−ZnO−B2O3基ガラスの組成を示している。なお、表1中、組成比を示す数値の単位は質量%である。
ガラス転移温度(Tg)は、示差走査熱量計(DSC;TAQ10series)で測定した。加熱速度:10℃/分、N2流量:50ml/分をこの装置では使用した。ガラス転移温度(Tg)は、切片法を用いて決定し、その再現性は±3℃以内である。アルミナ皿で測定できるガラス転移温度(Tg)を本発明のガラス転移温度(Tg)は超えているので、白金皿を測定に用いた。
実施した組成を表1に示し、溶融条件、アニール条件、外観、ガラス転移温度(Tg)、屈折率(nd)を表2に示した。なお、表2中、No.4の溶融条件は、原料を大気中1250℃で1時間かけて溶融した後、1300℃まで昇温したことを示す。表2中、外観の評価は、目視観察により行った。

- Li 2 Oを含まず、成分および組成が、
B2O3を20〜35質量%
SiO2を1.5〜5質量%
ZnOを6〜14質量%
SrOを1.5〜8質量%
La2O3を20〜40質量%
BaF2を1.5〜9質量%
HfO2を0.1〜7.5質量%
CaOを1.5〜7質量%
ZrF4を5質量%以下(但し、0を除く)
を満たし、前記成分の合計が少なくとも92.01質量%であることを特徴とする光学ガラス。 - さらに、ZrO 2 を6.69〜7.32質量%含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光学ガラス。
