ここで、E”は、変形サイクルにおける熱としてのエネルギーの損失に比例する損失率であり、E’は、変形サイクルに貯蔵されたエネルギーに比例する貯蔵率または弾性率である。ジェイ・ディー・フェリー(Ferry, J.D.)、ポリマーの粘弾性特性(Viscoelastic Properties of Polymers)、第3版、ワイリー(Wiley):ニューヨーク(New York)、1980年、第1章を参照されたい。tanデルタピークの最大値は、Tgの好都合な測定として役立つが、典型的には、TgがDSCなどの方法によって測定されるときに得られる値を超える。
高Tg(>60C)二次コーティング(「コーティングA」)またはより低いTg(<55C)の二次コーティング(「コーティングB」)を有する、先に準備された光ファイバを使用して、光ファイバリボンを製造した。組成物は、pphで記載された成分をコーティングの100パーセント重量に加えた以外は、重量パーセントで表1に以下に詳述される。
90℃に設定されたスミトモ(Sumitomo)JR4Aストリッパを使用して、すべてのリボンを剥離した。剥離は、主観的に定義された遅い速度または速い速度で手で行った。リボン剥離性能を、清浄度およびチューブ外しの両方について割当てられた等級で評価した。
Claims (9)
- 各々が二次コーティングを含む複数の光ファイバと、
前記光ファイバの1つ以上を少なくとも部分的に封入するインク層と、
前記複数の光ファイバを実質的に封入し、かつ前記インク層と接触するマトリックスとを含む光ファイバリボンであって、
前記二次コーティング、前記インク層、および前記マトリックスが、各々、ガラス転移温度(Tg)および破壊靱性(K1C)値によって特徴づけられ、
(i)前記二次コーティング、前記インク層、および前記マトリックスのそれぞれのTg値の最高と最低との間の差が、15℃未満であり、(ii)前記二次コーティング、前記インク層、および前記マトリックスのそれぞれのTg値が60℃を超え、および(iii)前記二次コーティング、前記インク層、および前記マトリックスのそれぞれのK1C値が0.8MPa・m1/2 を超えることを特徴とする光ファイバリボン。 - 前記それぞれのガラス転移温度の最高と最低との間の差が、15℃未満であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 前記それぞれのTg値が60℃を超えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 前記それぞれのK1C値が0.8MPa・m1/2 を超えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 前記それぞれのTg値の最高と最低との間の差が、15℃未満であり、前記それぞれのTg値が60℃を超え、前記それぞれのK1C値が0.8MPa・m1/2 を超えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- (i)、(ii)、および(iii)のいずれか2つ以上が満たされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 前記マトリックスが内側マトリックスであり、前記リボンが、前記内側マトリックスを封入する外側マトリックスをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 前記二次コーティング、前記インク層、および前記マトリックスが、各々、350マイクロメートルを超える延性によって特徴づけられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボン。
- 光ファイバリボンを製造する方法であって、
各々が二次コーティングを有する複数の光ファイバを提供する工程と、
インク組成物を前記複数の光ファイバの1つ以上に少なくとも部分的に付与する工程と、
前記光ファイバをマトリックス組成物内に封入する工程と、
前記インク組成物および前記マトリックス組成物を硬化させて、請求項1に記載の光ファイバリボンを形成する工程とを含むことを特徴とする方法。
