Claims (3)
- 電解質膜の両側に一対の電極が配設される電解質膜・電極構造体と、セパレータとが積層されるとともに、積層方向に貫通して反応ガスを流す反応ガス連通孔が形成される燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、該セパレータの一端から他端に向かって直線状に設けられ前記電極の発電領域に対応して前記反応ガスを供給する反応ガス流路と、
前記反応ガス流路と前記反応ガス連通孔との間に設けられ、前記反応ガスの撹拌を行う略三角形状の入口側バッファ領域及び出口側バッファ領域と、
を備え、
一方の前記反応ガスである酸化剤ガスの前記出口側バッファ領域と他方の前記反応ガスである燃料ガスの前記入口側バッファ領域は、積層方向から見て互いの形状が略一致して重なり合い、且つ前記燃料ガスの前記出口側バッファ領域と前記酸化剤ガスの前記入口側バッファ領域は、積層方向から見て互いの形状が略一致して重なり合い、
前記一対の電極は、前記電解質膜側に形成される電極触媒層と、前記電極触媒層に積層されるガス拡散層とを備え、
前記電解質膜・電極構造体の前記入口側バッファ領域及び前記出口側バッファ領域に対応する領域には、前記電解質膜及び前記ガス拡散層のみを有する第1及び第2加湿部が設けられ、
前記第1加湿部は、前記酸化剤ガスの前記出口側バッファ領域から前記燃料ガスの前記入口側バッファ領域に、前記電解質膜・電極構造体を透過して水分が移動するとともに、
前記第2加湿部は、前記燃料ガスの前記出口側バッファ領域から前記酸化剤ガスの前記入口側バッファ領域に、前記電解質膜・電極構造体を透過して前記水分が移動することを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記入口側バッファ領域及び出口側バッファ領域には、前記反応ガスの流れに抵抗となる抵抗部材が設けられるとともに、
前記抵抗部材には、前記反応ガスを前記電解質膜・電極接合体に案内する傾斜ガイド部が形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項2記載の燃料電池において、前記傾斜ガイド部は、前記反応ガスの流れ方向に沿って緩やかに傾斜する第1傾斜面と、前記第1傾斜面の反対側で前記第1傾斜面よりも急に傾斜する第2傾斜面とを含む構成であることを特徴とする燃料電池。
