Claims (13)
- 光信号を送信するよう構成された送信器と、
前記光信号を受信するよう構成された受信器と、
前記送信器と前記受信器との間に延在する伝送路であって、該伝送路は、光伝送ケーブルと、前記光伝送ケーブルに接続された少なくとも1つのケーブル信号発生器とを含み、該ケーブル信号発生器は、前記ケーブルの光ファイバ上にて送信された指令信号に応答して、前記ケーブルの電源線上にて供給される線電流に変調を与えるよう構成された線電流変調回路を含む、前記伝送路と、
を備える光通信システムであって、
前記線電流変調回路が、変調回路及びシャントバイパス回路を含み、該シャントバイパス回路が、前記線電流が前記変調回路を迂回するよう前記線電流を選択的にシャントさせるよう構成され、
前記線電流の変調が、前記変調回路によって与えられる前記ケーブル信号発生器における電圧の変調に応答して与えられることを特徴とする光通信システム。 - 前記ケーブル信号発生器が、前記指令信号を前記線電流変調回路に向かわせるための光アドドロップ多重装置を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記変調が非周期的な変調であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記線電流の変調を検出するよう構成された検出器を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記ケーブル信号発生器が、前記伝送路に接続された海底にある要素の1つの構成要素であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記構成要素が分岐装置を含み、該分岐装置が、前記線電流変調回路に前記指令信号を供給するための光アドドロップ多重装置を含むことを特徴とする請求項5記載のシステム。
- 前記指令信号が、前記分岐装置を所望の状態に設定するための分岐装置指令信号を含むことを特徴とする請求項6記載のシステム。
- 光伝送ケーブルに接続されるケーブル信号発生器であって、前記光伝送ケーブルが、該光伝送ケーブルに接続された構成要素に電力を供給する電源線と、少なくとも1の光ファイバとを含み、前記ケーブル信号発生器が、
前記ケーブルの前記光ファイバ上にて送信された指令信号に応答して、前記ケーブルの前記電源線上にて供給される線電流に変調を与えるよう構成された線電流変調回路を備えており、
前記線電流変調回路が、変調回路及びシャントバイパス回路を含み、該シャントバイパス回路が、前記線電流が前記変調回路を迂回するよう前記線電流を選択的にシャントさせるよう構成され、
前記線電流の変調が、前記変調回路によって与えられる前記ケーブル信号発生器における電圧の変調に応答して与えられることを特徴とするケーブル信号発生器。 - 前記ケーブル信号発生器が、前記指令信号を前記線電流変調回路に向かわせるための光アドドロップ多重装置を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項8記載のケーブル信号発生器。
- 前記変調が非周期的な変調であることを特徴とする請求項8記載のケーブル信号発生器。
- 前記ケーブル信号発生器が、前記線電流の変調を検出するよう構成された検出器を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項8記載のケーブル信号発生器。
- 前記ケーブル信号発生器が、前記伝送路に接続された海底にある要素の1つの構成要素であることを特徴とする請求項8記載のケーブル信号発生器。
- 前記構成要素が分岐装置を含み、該分岐装置が、前記線電流変調回路に前記指令信号を供給するための光アドドロップ多重装置を含むことを特徴とする請求項12記載のケーブル信号発生器。
