Description

The present invention sets the voltage of each unit cell for voltage measurement through a wiring drawn from the positive electrode of each unit cell and the negative electrode of the unit cell on the lowest potential side in an assembled battery in which a plurality of unit cells are connected in series. An assembled battery monitoring device comprising: a voltage measuring unit that detects by performing an operation; and a disconnection detection unit that detects the presence or absence of disconnection of the wiring based on a detection voltage obtained by a setting operation for the voltage measurement; and The present invention relates to a method for detecting disconnection of a battery pack wiring.

Such an assembled battery monitoring apparatus is an apparatus for individually detecting the voltage of each single battery constituting the assembled battery.
As a method for detecting the voltage of each unit cell, for example, other than a method for simply measuring the voltage of the wiring connected to the positive electrode and the negative electrode of each unit cell (a method using a differential amplifier, a resistance voltage dividing method, etc.) As described in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 below, a capacitor is connected in parallel with each unit cell (see FIG. 5), and the capacitor is temporarily charged with the voltage of each unit cell. A method of measuring the voltage of the other is also considered.
Incidentally, in the method of measuring the voltage of the single cell through this capacitor, the voltage value of each single cell at the same time can be measured.

Thus, when detecting the voltage of each single cell, the disconnection of the said wiring pulled out from the assembled battery for this voltage detection becomes a problem.
In addition, the disconnection here means that the electrical connection is disconnected, and in addition to the case where the wiring is actually disconnected, the electrical connection is disconnected due to a connection failure such as a socket for connecting the wiring. This includes cases where

When the disconnection as described above occurs in the wiring for voltage detection of the unit cell, for example, in the method of charging the capacitor with each unit cell once, the capacitors are connected in series. Even if a disconnection occurs in the wiring at the position indicated by the “x” symbol, the adjacent unit cells Va and Vb sandwiching the disconnection point will be charged to the series-connected capacitors Ca and Cb. The voltages of the capacitors Ca and Cb that do not correctly indicate the respective voltages of Vb are detected.
In order to avoid such erroneous detection, in Patent Document 2 below, the capacitors are connected in series with each other with different capacities as appropriate. A method is adopted in which the charging voltage of the capacitor is different between when the connection is normal and when the disconnection occurs, and the occurrence of the disconnection is detected based on the voltage difference.
JP 2001-56350 A JP 2002-204537 A

However, in the disconnection detection method according to Patent Document 2, the voltage difference between the detection voltage in the normal case and the detection voltage in the case where the disconnection occurs may not be sufficient, and improvement has been demanded.
Furthermore, the above describes the case where the disconnection occurs by exemplifying the case where the voltage of each unit cell is detected via a capacitor. For example, the voltage of each unit cell is directly measured by the voltage measuring unit. In the case of measurement, the same problem occurs due to the disconnection of the wiring.
That is, the above-described capacitor may be replaced with an input impedance between detection voltage input terminals in the voltage measurement unit, and a voltage divided by the input impedance may be detected. The same problem arises when a noise absorbing capacitor is connected between the wirings from each cell to the voltage measuring section.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object thereof is to make it possible to accurately detect the disconnection when a disconnection occurs in the wiring for detecting the voltage of each unit cell. It is in.

In the first invention of the present application, the voltage of each unit cell is connected to a voltage extracted from the positive electrode of each unit cell and the negative electrode of the unit cell on the lowest potential side in an assembled battery in which a plurality of unit cells are connected in series. A battery pack comprising: a voltage measuring unit that detects by performing a setting operation for measurement; and a disconnection detecting unit that detects the presence or absence of disconnection of the wiring based on a detection voltage obtained by the setting operation for voltage measurement In the monitoring device, an auxiliary current path having a set resistance value is connected in parallel with each of the unit cells, and a switch device for the auxiliary current path for turning on and off the current in each of the auxiliary current paths is provided for each of the auxiliary current paths. The disconnection detection unit opens and closes the auxiliary current path switch device so that adjacent devices in the arrangement order of potentials are not simultaneously closed, and the voltage measurement is performed. Based on the difference between the detected voltage configuration and the closed state switching device for the auxiliary current path is that obtained by the operation was a detection voltage when the when the opened state of the switching device for the auxiliary current path for , And configured to detect the presence or absence of disconnection of the wiring.

In other words, if there is no disconnection in any part of the wiring connecting the assembled battery and the voltage measuring unit, the auxiliary current path switch device connected in parallel with each unit cell may be closed or opened. The voltage on the wiring basically has no change, and the voltage of each single cell is detected by the voltage measuring unit.
On the other hand, when the disconnection occurs, when the auxiliary current path switch device is closed and the auxiliary current path is energized, the voltage value required for detection by the voltage measuring unit is sufficiently low.

More specifically, in the method of measuring the voltage of a single cell through a capacitor, as shown schematically in FIG. 6 (a), a disconnection occurs at the “x” symbol in FIG. 6 (a). In this state, the setting operation for voltage measurement is performed in a state where the switch Sa for the auxiliary current path corresponding to the unit cell Va is closed.
In this setting operation for voltage measurement, the switches Pa, Pb, and Pc are closed, and the capacitors Ca and Cb are charged by the single cells Va and Vb, and then the voltages of the capacitors Ca and Cb are measured.
At this time, since the switch Sa is in a closed state, the capacitor Cb is charged by the single cells Va and Vb, but the capacitor Ca is not charged (strictly speaking, the capacitor Ca is instantaneously charged, Transition to a steady state that is not charged).
On the contrary, when the same setting operation for voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch Sb corresponding to the unit cell Vb closed, the capacitor Ca is charged by the unit cells Va and Vb. However, the capacitor Cb is not charged (strictly speaking, the capacitor Cb is instantaneously charged, but shifts to an uncharged steady state).
As a result, when disconnection occurs, a large opening occurs in the measured voltage depending on whether the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device closed or the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device opened.

Further, in the case where the voltage of each single cell is directly measured by the voltage measuring unit, as schematically shown in FIG. 6 (b), a disconnection has occurred at the “x” symbol in FIG. 6 (b). Sometimes, the setting operation for voltage measurement is performed in a state where the switch Sa for the auxiliary current path corresponding to the unit cell Va is in a closed state.
In this setting operation for voltage measurement, the switches Pa, Pb, Pc are simply closed and the voltages of the single cells Va, Vb are measured.
At this time, the switch Sa is in a closed state, and the input impedance of the voltage measurement unit (indicated by Ri in FIG. 6B) is very high, so that the input terminal for detecting the voltage of the unit cell Vb is almost single. A voltage obtained by adding the voltages of the batteries Va and Vb is applied to the detection, and a very small voltage is only applied to the input terminal for detecting the voltage of the single cell Va.
On the contrary, when the same setting operation for voltage measurement is performed in the state where the switch Sb for the auxiliary current path corresponding to the unit cell Vb is closed, the input terminal for detecting the voltage of the unit cell Va. Therefore, a voltage obtained by adding the voltages of the single cells Va and Vb is applied to the detection, and a very small voltage is applied to the input terminal for detecting the voltage of the single cell Vb.
As a result, when disconnection occurs, a large opening occurs in the measured voltage depending on whether the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device closed or the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device opened.

As described above, since the voltage measurement result of the single cells connected to the location where the disconnection has occurred becomes a very small voltage value, the occurrence of the disconnection can be detected by the fact that the voltage value itself is small, Depending on the relationship between the measured voltage and the discriminant value, the determination of the presence or absence of disconnection may become unstable. In such a case, when the voltage detection is performed with the switch device for the auxiliary current path opened, the high voltage value is also used, and the switch device for the auxiliary current path is opened. It is also possible to determine the presence / absence of disconnection with higher accuracy by taking the difference between the detected voltage value and the detected voltage value when the closed state is established, and determining the presence / absence of disconnection based on the difference.
In addition, in this way, since the presence or absence of disconnection is determined by the voltage value obtained by the voltage measurement operation for each unit cell, it is possible to specify that the occurrence position of disconnection is on the wiring from the unit cell to be measured. In the case where the measurement result of the voltage measurement operation for two unit cells arranged in series is obtained, and both of them indicate the occurrence of disconnection, on the wiring from the connection point of the two unit cells It can be estimated that a disconnection has occurred.

Further, the second invention of the present application is that the voltage of each unit cell is connected through a wiring drawn from the positive electrode of each unit cell and the negative electrode of the unit cell on the lowest potential side in an assembled battery in which a plurality of unit cells are connected in series. In the disconnection detection method for an assembled battery wiring, the detection is performed by performing a setting operation for voltage measurement, and the presence or absence of disconnection of the wiring is detected based on a detection voltage obtained by the setting operation for voltage measurement. An auxiliary current path having a set resistance value is connected in parallel with each of the cells, and a switch device for the auxiliary current path for turning on and off the current in each of the auxiliary current paths is provided in each of the auxiliary current paths, and the auxiliary current path the switching device for the current path, those adjacent to each other in the sort order is opened and closed so as not to be a closed state at the same time in the potential, and the voltage setting before Ru obtained by the operation for the measurement Based on the difference between the detected voltage when the open state of the detection voltage and the switch device for the auxiliary current path when the state closes the switch device for the auxiliary current path, for detecting the presence or absence of disconnection of the wiring .

That is, as described in the first aspect, when a disconnection occurs, the measured voltage depends on whether the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device closed or the voltage measurement is performed open. A large opening occurs, and it is possible to detect the presence or absence of disconnection.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, when a disconnection occurs, there is a large difference in the measured voltage depending on whether the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device closed or the voltage measurement is performed open. Therefore, when disconnection occurs in the wiring for detecting the voltage of each unit cell, the disconnection can be accurately detected.
According to the second aspect of the present invention, when the disconnection occurs, the measured voltage is large depending on whether the voltage measurement is performed with the auxiliary current path switch device closed or the voltage measurement is performed open. Since the opening occurs and the presence or absence of disconnection is detected, the disconnection can be accurately detected when the disconnection occurs in the wiring for detecting the voltage of each unit cell.

The auxiliary current paths 6a, 6b, 6c, and 6d originally discharge the high-voltage cells when the voltage variation occurs between the cells 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d, and the cells 1a, 1b. , 1c, and 1d are circuit portions for balancing the voltages, but are also used to detect whether or not the wiring is disconnected, as will be described later.
The auxiliary current paths 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d are connected in parallel to the single cells 1a, 1b, 1c and 1d on the side closer to the assembled battery 1 than the switch devices 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d for positive wiring. Has been.
Note that the switch devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d that are provided in the auxiliary current paths 6a, 6b, 6c, and 6d and turn on and off the auxiliary current paths 6a, 6b, 6c, and 6d are provided for convenience of explanation. They are referred to as current path switching devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d.

The high potential side of each capacitor 2 a, 2 b, 2 c, 2 d is connected to a voltage measurement terminal of a voltage measurement unit MU configured by the microprocessor 10.
In FIG. 1, the voltage measurement terminal for measuring the voltage of the capacitor 2a is “A / D1”, the voltage measurement terminal for measuring the voltage of the capacitor 2b is “A / D2”, and the voltage of the capacitor 2c is measured. A voltage measurement terminal for measuring the voltage of the capacitor 2d is indicated as “A / D3”, and a voltage measurement terminal for measuring the voltage of the capacitor 2d is indicated as “A / D4”.
Further, the low potential side (negative electrode side) of the capacitor 2a on the lowest potential side in the arrangement order of potentials is connected to the ground terminal (“GND”) of the microprocessor 10.
The voltage measurement terminal of the microprocessor 10 is an input terminal of the built-in A / D converter, and the microprocessor 10 detects a potential difference between each voltage measurement terminal and the “GND” terminal.

Switch devices 8a, 8b, 8c for measurement operation are connected in the middle of the wiring from the high potential side of the capacitors 2b, 2c, 2d (excluding the capacitor 2a) to the voltage measurement terminal of the microprocessor 10, The voltage is applied to the voltage measurement terminals “A / D2”, “A / D3”, and “A / D4” only during the voltage measurement operation.
In the middle of the wiring from the high potential side of each capacitor 2a, 2b, 2c (excluding the capacitor 2d) to the voltage measurement terminal of the microprocessor 10, each wiring is further connected to the ground (the lowest potential side of the assembled battery 1). Switch devices 7a, 7b and 7c for ground connection for connection are connected.
The ground connection switch devices 7a, 7b, and 7c are for preventing an unnecessary high voltage from being applied to the voltage measurement terminal during voltage measurement, and will be described in detail later.
The circuit board of the assembled battery monitoring device VS having the circuit configuration described above is connected to the assembled battery 1 via the cable 11.
In other words, the voltage measuring unit MU passes through the wiring (including the cable 11) drawn from the positive electrode of each unit cell 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d and the negative electrode of the unit cell 1a on the lowest potential side. , 1c, 1d are detected.
As a practical problem, the disconnection of the wiring is almost always generated in the cable 11, the connector for connecting the cable 11 and the assembled battery 1, or the connector for connecting the cable 11 and the circuit board of the assembled battery monitoring device VS. It is.

[Detection of disconnection]
Next, the disconnection detection operation will be described.
The disconnection detection operation is performed by the microprocessor 10 executing the processing shown in the flowchart of FIG. 3, and the microprocessor 10 also functions as a disconnection detection unit CC that detects the presence or absence of the disconnection of the wiring.
The operation will be described below with reference to the flowchart of FIG. 3 and the timing chart of FIG.

First, the microprocessor 10 preliminarily includes auxiliary current path switch devices 4a and 4c provided in odd-numbered (first and third) auxiliary current paths 6a and 6c from the low potential side in the order of arrangement in terms of potential. For the auxiliary current path provided in the even-numbered (second and fourth) auxiliary current paths 6b and 6d from the low potential side in the arrangement order of potentials for the set time only. The switch devices 4b and 4d are maintained in the open state (OFF state).
As shown in FIG. 1, the switch devices 4a and 4c for odd-numbered auxiliary current paths are collectively opened and closed by the output signal of the control signal output terminal “SC1” of the microprocessor 10, and the even-numbered auxiliary current paths The switch devices 4b and 4d for use are collectively opened and closed by the output signal of the control signal output terminal “SC2” of the microprocessor 10.

The pulse signals “SC1” and “SC2” in FIG. 2 indicate pulse signals output from the control signal output terminal of the symbol, and each switch device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is in a closed state (ON state), and each switch device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is in an open state (OFF state) on the L level side of the pulse signal. The same applies to pulse signals for controlling each switch device described below.
Therefore, for step # 1 in FIG. 3, the pulse signal of the set period is output in “SC1” in FIG. 2, and the L level is maintained in that period “SC2”. For convenience of explanation, the setting state of the switch devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d for the auxiliary current path is referred to as a first switch setting state.
In this way, the switch devices 4a and 4c for odd-numbered auxiliary current paths and the switch devices 4b and 4d for even-numbered auxiliary current paths in the arrangement order of potentials are collectively opened and closed, and The reason why the open / close states are alternated as described later is to prevent the adjacent ones from being simultaneously closed in the arrangement order of potentials.

Next, the microprocessor 10 functioning as the disconnection detecting unit CC instructs the voltage measuring unit MU to start a setting operation for measuring the voltages of the single cells 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d (step # 2).
The function of the microprocessor 10 as the voltage measuring unit MU is implemented as a so-called subroutine, and the subroutine is called and processed in step # 2.
When the voltage measurement unit MU is instructed to start a setting operation for voltage measurement, the voltage measurement unit MU performs an operation in a range indicated as “first measurement cycle” in FIG. 2.

That is, a pulse signal indicated as “HC” in FIG. 2 is sent from the control signal output terminal indicated by “HC” in FIG.
The control signal “HC” is used to collectively control the opening / closing operation of the switch devices 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d for positive wiring, and the switch devices 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d for positive wiring are controlled by this signal. The battery is closed at the same time, and charging from the unit cells 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d to the corresponding capacitors 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d is started.
Thereafter, after charging of the capacitors 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d is completed and the switch devices 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d for positive wiring are opened, “A / D1” to “A” in FIG. At the timing of the pulse signal indicated by “/ D4”, the voltage input to the voltage measuring terminal indicated by each is A / D converted and read.
As can be seen from the pulse signal shown in FIG. 2, the voltage is sequentially detected from the capacitor 2a on the low potential side in the arrangement order of potentials.

In parallel with this voltage reading operation, each capacitor 2a, 2b, 2c (excluding the capacitor 2d on the highest potential side) has a high potential side of the capacitor 2a, 2b, 2c at the timing when the voltage reading is completed. The switch devices 7a, 7b, 7c for ground connection connected to the wiring are closed, and the high potential side of the capacitors 2a, 2b, 2c, whose voltage has been read, are dropped to the ground, and then discharged. Next, a state in which voltage measurement by the microprocessor 10 is possible with the switch devices 8a, 8b, 8c for measurement operation provided in the high potential side wiring of the capacitors 2b, 2c, 2d to be measured being closed. And The timing of the voltage reading at the voltage measurement terminal of the microprocessor 10 is set to a timing slightly delayed after the switch devices 8a, 8b, 8c for measurement operation are closed.

The switch devices 7a, 7b and 7c for ground connection are opened / closed by output pulse signals from the control signal output terminals “GC1” to “GC3” of the microprocessor 10, and the timing of the opening / closing operation is shown in FIG. ] To “GC3”.
The switching devices 8a, 8b, 8c for measurement operation are opened / closed by output pulse signals from the control signal output terminals “MC1” to “MC3” of the microprocessor 10, and the timing of the opening / closing operation is shown in FIG. “MC1” to “MC3” are shown.
For example, when the voltage detection for the capacitor 2a is completed (see “A / D1” in FIG. 2), the switch device 7a for ground connection is closed by the signal “GC1”, and subsequently, the signal “MC1” is used. The switch device 8a for measurement operation is closed.
As shown in FIG. 2, the same operation is performed for the subsequent high potential side capacitors 2b, 2c, and 2d.

When the voltages of the single cells 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d are read as described above, the microprocessor 10 that functions as the disconnection detection unit CC receives the measurement result in step # 3 of FIG. 3, and stores and holds it.
Thereafter, as indicated by “SC1” and “SC2” in FIG. 2, the auxiliary current paths 6b and 6d provided in the even-numbered (second and fourth) auxiliary current paths 6b and 6d from the low potential side in the arrangement order of the potentials. The switch devices 4b and 4d for the current path are closed (ON state) for a preset time, and the odd-numbered (first and third) auxiliary current paths 6a from the low potential side in the arrangement order of potentials. , 6c, the auxiliary current path switch devices 4a, 4c are maintained in the open state (OFF state) (step # 4). The setting state of the switch devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d for the auxiliary current path is referred to as a second switch setting state for convenience of explanation.
In the second switch setting state, the opening / closing operation is reversed from that of the first switch setting state, and the adjacent auxiliary current path switch devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d are closed at the same time. I try not to be.

Next, the same subroutine as the measurement process in step # 2 is called to perform the same measurement operation as the setting operation for voltage measurement described above as shown as “second measurement cycle” in FIG. In step # 5), voltage reading data for each of the cells 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d is received (step # 6).
When the measurement data for two times at step # 3 and step # 6 are prepared, it is determined whether or not a disconnection has occurred (step # 7).

For example, if a disconnection occurs at the position indicated by the symbol A in FIG. 1, the capacitors 2a and 2b are charged from the single cells 1a and 1b in the circuit shown in FIG. 4A in the first measurement cycle. become.
In the circuit of FIG. 4A, since the resistor 5a is connected in parallel to the capacitor 2a, the capacitor 2a is not charged in the end, and the voltage of the unit cells 1a and 1b is applied to the capacitor 2b. It is charged with.
Therefore, in the first measurement cycle, the voltage of the capacitor 2a detected as the voltage of the unit cell 1a is a very low voltage of approximately 0V, and the voltage of the capacitor 2b detected as the voltage of the unit cell 1b is the voltage of the normal unit cell. Higher voltage (approximately twice the voltage).

Next, in the second measurement cycle, the capacitors 2a and 2b are charged from the single cells 1a and 1b by the circuit shown in FIG. 4B.
In the circuit of FIG. 4B, since the resistor 5b is connected in parallel to the capacitor 2b, the capacitor 2b is not charged in the end, and the voltage of the single cells 1a and 1b is applied to the capacitor 2a. It is charged with.
Therefore, in the second measurement cycle, the voltage of the capacitor 2a detected as the voltage of the unit cell 1a is higher than the voltage of the normal unit cell (approximately twice the voltage), and the capacitor detected as the voltage of the unit cell 1b. The voltage of 2b is a very low voltage of almost 0V.

In step # 7 of FIG. 3, the detected voltages (actually, the respective capacitors 2a, 2b, 2c to which the respective cells 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d correspond in the first measurement cycle and the second measurement cycle). , 2d detection voltage), the difference between the detection voltage when the corresponding auxiliary current path switch device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is in the open state and the detection voltage when it is in the closed state is obtained. When it is larger than a set value (for example, 0.7 V), it is determined that a disconnection has occurred.
In the example shown in FIG. 4, it is determined from the voltage measurement results for the unit cells 1 a and 1 b that the disconnection has occurred, and the position at which the disconnection has occurred can be specified.
That is, it is possible to specify that a disconnection has occurred in the wiring on the high potential side of the unit cell 1a (that is, the low potential side of the unit cell 1b).
It should be noted that the corresponding auxiliary current path switch device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is not the difference between the detection voltage when the switch device 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d is in the open state and the detection voltage when the switch device is in the closed state. It is also possible to determine that a disconnection has occurred only because the detected voltage value when the switch devices 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d are in the closed state is lower than the set value.

If it is determined that a disconnection has occurred (step # 8), the fact is notified to a higher-level management device (not shown) (step # 9).
As described above, in the first measurement cycle, the switch devices 4a and 4c of the odd-numbered auxiliary current paths 6a and 6c are closed in the order of potential arrangement, and the even-numbered auxiliary current paths in the order of potential arrangement in the second measurement cycle. Although the case where the switch devices 4b and 4d of 6b and 6d are set in the closed state has been described, the odd-numbered and even-numbered devices may be switched to open and close the switch device.
