まず、ガラス基板2201上に、酸化珪素を含むインジウム錫酸化物(ITSO)をスパッタリング法にて成膜し、第1の電極2202を形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
9−[4−(N−カルバゾリル)]フェニル−10−フェニルアントラセン(略称:CzPA)とN−(9,10−ジフェニル−2−アントリル)−N,9−ジフェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−アミン(略称:2PCAPA)とを共蒸着することにより、発光層2205を40nmの膜厚で形成し、機能層2206を設けない構成とした。他の構成は発光素子3の同様である。

- 一般式(1)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(2)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(3)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(4)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(5)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(6)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(7)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一般式(8)で表されるアントラセン誘導体。
- 請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか一項において、B1〜B2は、それぞれ、ハロゲンまたはハロアルキル基であることを特徴とするアントラセン誘導体。
- 請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか一項において、B1〜B2は、それぞれ、フルオロ基またはトリフルオロメチル基であることを特徴とするアントラセン誘導体。
- 請求項1乃至請求項10のいずれか一項において、B1とB2は、同一の構造を有する置換基であるアントラセン誘導体。
- 一対の電極間に、
請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体を有することを特徴とする発光素子。 - 一対の電極間に発光層を有し、
前記発光層は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体を有することを特徴とする発光素子。 - 一対の電極間に発光層を有し、
前記発光層は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体を有し、
前記アントラセン誘導体が発光することを特徴とする発光素子。 - 第1の電極と第2の電極の間に、電子輸送層と正孔輸送層を有し、
前記電子輸送層と前記正孔輸送層との間に、第1の層と第2の層を有し、
前記第1の層は、第1の有機化合物と、第2の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第2の層は、第3の有機化合物と、第4の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第1の層は、前記第2の層の第1の電極側に設けられており、
前記第2の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第3の有機化合物は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体であり、
前記第4の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第1の有機化合物の発光色と前記第3の有機化合物の発光色は、同じ色系統であり、
前記第1の電極の方が前記第2の電極よりも電位が高くなるように、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とに電圧を印加することにより、前記第1の有機化合物からの発光が得られることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 第1の電極と第2の電極の間に、電子輸送層と正孔輸送層を有し、
前記電子輸送層と前記正孔輸送層との間に、第1の層と第2の層を有し、
前記第1の層は、第1の有機化合物と、第2の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第2の層は、第3の有機化合物と、第4の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第1の層は、前記第2の層の第1の電極側に設けられており、
前記第1の有機化合物は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体であり、
前記第2の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第3の有機化合物は電子トラップ性を有し、
前記第4の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第1の有機化合物の発光色と前記第3の有機化合物の発光色は、同じ色系統であり、
前記第1の電極の方が前記第2の電極よりも電位が高くなるように、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とに電圧を印加することにより、前記第1の有機化合物からの発光が得られることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項16において、
前記第3の有機化合物は第4の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位より0.3eV以上低い最低空軌道準位を有することを特徴とする発光素子。 - 第1の電極と第2の電極の間に、電子輸送層と正孔輸送層を有し、
前記電子輸送層と前記正孔輸送層との間に、第1の層と第2の層を有し、
前記第1の層は、第1の有機化合物と、第2の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第2の層は、第3の有機化合物と、第4の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第1の層は、前記第2の層の第1の電極側に設けられており、
前記第1の有機化合物は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体であり、
前記第2の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第3の有機化合物は正孔輸送性を有し、
前記第4の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第2の層において、前記第3の有機化合物よりも第4の有機化合物が多く含まれており、
前記第1の有機化合物の発光色と前記第3の有機化合物の発光色は、同じ色系統であり、
前記第1の電極の方が前記第2の電極よりも電位が高くなるように、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とに電圧を印加することにより、前記第1の有機化合物からの発光が得られることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項18において、
前記第3の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位と前記第4の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位との差は0.3eVより小さいことを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項15乃至請求項19のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の有機化合物の発光スペクトルのピーク値と、前記第3の有機化合物の発光スペクトルのピーク値の差は30nm以内であることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 第1の電極と第2の電極の間に、電子輸送層と正孔輸送層を有し、
前記電子輸送層と前記正孔輸送層との間に、第1の層と第2の層を有し、
前記第1の層は、第1の有機化合物と、第2の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第2の層は、第3の有機化合物と、第4の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第1の層は、前記第2の層の第1の電極側に設けられており、
前記第1の有機化合物は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体であり、
前記第2の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第3の有機化合物は請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のアントラセン誘導体であり、
前記第4の有機化合物は電子輸送性を有し、
前記第1の電極の方が前記第2の電極よりも電位が高くなるように、前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とに電圧を印加することにより、前記第1の有機化合物からの発光が得られることを特徴とする発光素子。 - 請求項15乃至請求項21のいずれか一項において、前記第1の層と前記第2の層は接して設けられていることを特徴とする発光素子。
- 請求項12乃至請求項22のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子と、前記発光素子の発光を制御する制御手段とを有する発光装置。
- 表示部を有し、
前記表示部は、請求項12乃至請求項22のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子と前記発光素子の発光を制御する制御手段とを備えたことを特徴とする電子機器。
