Claims (7)
- 2枚の直線偏光板の間に液晶パネルが配置された液晶表示装置において、
上記2枚の直線偏光板のうちのフロント偏光板よりもパネル前面側に、面内のリタデーションが40nm〜100nmの範囲にある、二軸性の光学異方性を有するトリアセチルセルロースフィルムを備えており、
上記トリアセチルセルロースフィルムの面内遅相軸は、上記フロント偏光板の透過軸に対して、45°の角度をなしていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 上記二軸性の光学異方性を有するトリアセチルセルロースフィルムよりもパネル背面側に視野角拡大フィルムを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記フロント偏光板は、上記二軸性の光学異方性を有するトリアセチルセルロースフィルムと、保護膜との間に支持されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記保護膜はトリアセチルセルロースフィルムであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記二軸性の光学異方性を有するトリアセチルセルロースフィルム上に表面処理膜が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1から4までのいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 上記液晶パネルはツイストネマティック液晶により表示を行うことを特徴とする請求項1から5までのいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 30度の方位角方向における正面からの極角範囲が−5度から+15度の範囲にあるビューポイントに対して、到達光の偏光の楕円率が40%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1から6までのいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
