Description
Claims (3)
- 非円形である透明な容器の側壁の厚みを検査するための装置であって、
容器(12)を静止位置に保持し、軸線(16)を中心として容器を回転させるコンベア(14)と、
前記コンベア上の容器の側壁に、光エネルギーを向けるための光源(18)と、
容器の側壁の内面及び外面の部分から反射された光エネルギー(44,42)を検出する光センサ(24)と、
前記センサに応答して、容器の側壁の内表面と外表面とから反射された光エネルギー間の前記センサにおける分離の関数として、容器の回転の増分に対する側壁の厚みを決定する情報処理装置(26)と、を備え、
前記光源(18)は、前記軸線に対して垂直に長い寸法を有する線状の光ビーム(36)を前記容器の側壁に向けるように配置され、
レンズ系の軸線(46)を有するアナモルフィックレンズ系(22)が、前記レンズ系の軸線に対して実質的に平行である容器の側壁の内面及び外面の部分から反射された前記センサ光エネルギー(44,42)を差し向けることを特徴とする装置。 - さらに、使用時において、前記側壁の表面部分から反射された前記光エネルギーは、容器が回転すると、容器の非円形性のために、前記レンズ系に沿って行ったり来たりと掃引することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 非円形である透明な容器の側壁の厚みを検査する方法であって、この方法が、
(a) 軸線(16)を中心として容器が回転している間、静止位置に容器(12)を保持する段階と、
(b) 前記軸線に対して垂直に長い寸法を有する線状の光ビーム(36)を容器の側壁に向ける段階と、
(c) 前記軸線に対して平行な方向から見たとき、容器の側壁に向けられる光エネルギーに対して実質的に垂直である、容器の側壁の内表面及び外表面から反射した前記光ビームの部分(44,42)をアナモルフィックレンズ系(22)に通して光センサ上に向ける段階と、
(d) 容器の側壁の内表面と外表面とから反射された、前記センサにおける光エネルギー部分間の分離の関数として、容器の回転の増分に対する容器の側壁の厚みを決定する段階と、
を備えていることを特徴とする方法。
