Description
本願は、2005年4月15日に仮出願として出願の米国特許仮出願第60/672192号の本出願である。
コンタクトレンズは、1950年代以来、視力を改善するために商業的に使用されてきた。最初のコンタクトレンズは、硬質な材料、ガラスおよび硬質なプラスチックから作製されていた。かかる分野でのその後の発展により、ヒドロゲルを基礎とするソフトコンタクトレンズが生み出され、今日では、広く普及している。眼科用レンズは、個々のパッケージに梱包される場合があり、一般にブリスターパックとして知られている。

ガリフィルコンAのコンタクトレンズが、米国特許第6,822,016号の実施例49に記載のように実質的に調製された。かかるレンズは、水和され、そして米国特許第D458,023号に示されているように、ブリスターパッケージに配置された。生理食塩水溶液中における500マイクロリットルの50ppmのメチルセルロースが各パッケージに添加され、パッケージのシール部分に対して、脱イオン水の液滴が添加された。アルミニウムからなるアルミニウムラミネート箔が、ポリエステル印刷材料と配向ポリプロピレンの層の間に狭持された(Acuvue(登録商標)Advanced(商標)銘柄のコンタクトレンズをシールするために使用される材料)。パッケージが熱融着され、そしてラミネート箔における条溝の存在に関して検査された。これにより製造された411個のパッケージのうち、354個のパッケージが、条溝を含んでいた(86.13%)。
