表1に示す配合にて試験グリースを調製した。尚、増ちょう剤のジウレアは一般式〔I〕で表されるものであり、極圧添加剤の添加量は、何れもグリース全量の3質量%とした。そして、各試験グリースを、図1に示す構成のステアリング機構の雄軸の外周部と雌軸の内周部との間隙に封入し、室温で、ジョイント角度を30°で固定して、回転方向に左右交互にトルクを入力し、繰り返し軸方向に伸縮させた。そのときの伸縮軸の雄軸の加速度を測定することで引っ掛かりやトルク変動の発生の有無を評価した。
表2に示す配合にて試験グリースを調製し、図1に示す構成のステアリング機構の雄軸の外周部と雌軸の内周部との間隙に封入した。尚、増ちょう剤の種類には、比較例3以外は一般式〔I〕で表されるウレア化合物であり、R2は4,4´−メチレンジフェニルイソシアネート共通で、表にはR1,R3及びその比率を示してある。そして、100〜50℃の温度サイクルをかけながら、ジョイント角度を30°で固定し、ステアリングホイールを左右交互回転させてトルクを入力し、繰り返し10万サイクルスライドさせた。このときの伸縮軸外径部の加速度を測定することで摩擦力の変化の有無を評価した。加速度が大きいほど振動が発生している状態を示し、0.5G以上が連続的に発生した場合を摩擦力変化発生有りとした。結果を表2に併記する。
ポリオールエステル油を基油とし、これに一般式〔I〕においてR1、R3が脂環式炭化水素基であり、R2が4,4´−メチレンジフェニルイソシアネートであるジウレアを配合量を変えて配合し、更にMoDTPを一定量添加して試験グリースを調製した。尚、混和ちょう度は250〜310とした。そして、図1に示す構成のステアリング機構の雄軸の外周部と雌軸の内周部との間隙に封入し、室温で、ジョイント角度を30°で固定し、ステアリングホイールを左右交互回転させてトルクを入力し、繰り返し40サイクルスライドさせた。そのときの振動が手に感じた回数を計数し、0回を評価点5点、1〜2回を同4点、3〜4回を同2点、5〜10回を同2点、11回以上を同1点とする5段階で評価をした。評価点3点以上を合格とした。結果を図8にグラフ化して示す。

動粘度の異なるポリオールエステル油に、一般式〔I〕においてR1、R3が脂環式炭化水素基であり、R2が4,4´−メチレンジフェニルイソシアネートであるジウレア及びMoDTPをそれぞれ一定量添加して試験グリースを調製した。尚、混和ちょう度は何れも270とした。そして、実施例3と同様の評価を行った。結果を図10にグラフ化して示す。
Claims (1)
- 雄軸と雌軸とを回転不能に且つ摺動自在に嵌合し、前記雄軸の外周部と前記雌軸の内周部とが互いに接触して回転の際にトルクを伝達する車両のステアリングシャフトに組み込まれる伸縮軸において、
前記雄軸の外周部と前記雌軸の内周部との間隙に、25℃における動粘度が40mm2/s以上80mm2/s以下であるエステル油を基油とし、増ちょう剤として脂環族ウレア化合物をグリース全量の15〜21質量%、極圧添加剤としてモリブデンジチオフォスフェートをグリース全量の1質量%以上含有するグリースを封入してなり、100〜50℃の温度サイクルをかけながら、ジョイント角度を30°で固定して左右交互にトルクを入力し、繰り返し10万サイクルスライドさせたときに、伸縮軸外径部の加速度において0.5G以上が連続して発生しないことを特徴とする車両のステアリングシャフト用伸縮軸。
