陸上移動無線(LMR)ネットワーク又はセルラーデータネットワークの何れかをLMRコンテンツを伝送するために指定しているユーザーネットワーク選択をユーザー入力として受信し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が、前記LMRコンテンツの伝送に使用可能か否かを前記陸上移動無線機の少なくとも1つのプログラムされた設定に基づいて決定し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択を選択的に優先させる一方、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が使用可能でなかった場合には、前記ユーザーが選択していない方のネットワークを通じて前記LMRコンテンツを通信するようにするプロセッサと、
LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットに従ってフォーマットされた前記LMRコンテンツを生成するLMR応用モジュールと、
LMRネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、複数のLMRサービスを提供するLMR通信モジュールと、
セルラーネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記セルラーデータネットワークを介して且つ前記LMRコンテンツを前記LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットからセルラーネットワークプロトコルフォーマットへ変換することなく、前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、前記複数のLMRサービスを提供するセルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールと
を有する陸上移動無線機である。

Claims (20)
- 陸上移動無線機であって、
陸上移動無線(LMR)ネットワーク又はセルラーデータネットワークの何れかをLMRコンテンツを伝送するために指定しているユーザーネットワーク選択をユーザー入力として受信し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が、前記LMRコンテンツの伝送に使用可能か否かを当該陸上移動無線機の少なくとも1つのプログラムされた設定に基づいて決定し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択を選択的に優先させる一方、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が使用可能でなかった場合には、前記ユーザーが選択していない方のネットワークを通じて前記LMRコンテンツを通信するようにするプロセッサと、
LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットに従ってフォーマットされた前記LMRコンテンツを生成するLMR応用モジュールと、
LMRネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、複数のLMRサービスを提供するLMR通信モジュールと、
セルラーネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記セルラーデータネットワークを介して且つ前記LMRコンテンツを前記LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットからセルラーネットワークプロトコルフォーマットへ変換することなく、前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、前記複数のLMRサービスを提供するセルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールと
を有する陸上移動無線機。 - 前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールはセルラー無線モデムを具備する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記セルラーネットワーク移送プロトコルは、パケットスイッチングプロトコルを含む、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するために前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールのうちの一方を選択するユーザーの入力を受信するユーザーインタフェースをさらに有する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するために前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールのうちの一方を自動的に選択することも可能である、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記プロセッサは、動作条件、ユーザーによる設定、所定の設定及びLMR通信の形式のうち少なくとも一つに基づいて、前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するために前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールのうちの一方を自動的に選択することが可能である、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 選択された通信ネットワークを識別するディスプレーをさらに有する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールを有すると共に携帯して操作するよう構成されたハウジングをさらに有する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールを有すると共にデスクトップ又はダッシュボードにおける操作用に構成されたハウジングをさらに有する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記プロセッサは、前記セルラーデータネットワーク通信モジュールを使用して通信する際に、パケットスイッチングプロトコルを使用して前記LMRコンテンツをカプセル化する、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 前記プロセッサは、終端間暗号化、及び他の少なくとも1個のLMRユニットによる終端間デジタルコード化の内の一方を可能にする、請求項1記載の陸上移動無線機。
- 陸上移動無線機と、セルラー無線モデムとを有するマルチモード端末デバイスであって、前記陸上移動無線機は、
陸上移動無線(LMR)ネットワーク又はセルラーデータネットワークの何れかをLMRコンテンツを伝送するために指定しているユーザーネットワーク選択をユーザー入力として受信し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が、前記LMRコンテンツの伝送に使用可能か否かを前記陸上移動無線機の少なくとも1つのプログラムされた設定に基づいて決定し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択を選択的に優先させる一方、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が使用可能でなかった場合には、前記ユーザーが選択していない方のネットワークを通じて前記LMRコンテンツを通信するようにするプロセッサと、
LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットに従ってフォーマットされた前記LMRコンテンツを生成するLMR応用モジュールと、
LMRネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、複数のLMRサービスを提供するLMR通信モジュールとを有し、
前記セルラー無線モデムは、前記セルラーデータネットワークを介して且つ前記LMRコンテンツを前記陸上移動無線機から受信した前記LMRコンテンツのフォーマットを変換することなく、前記LMRコンテンツを通信することで、前記複数のLMRサービスを提供し、前記陸上移動無線機及び前記セルラー無線モデムは1つのハウジング内に設けられている、マルチモード端末デバイス。 - 前記陸上移動無線機は、LMRプロトコルを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するよう構成され、
前記セルラー無線モデムは、LMR・オーバー・セルラープロトコルを使用して前記セルラー無線データシステムを介して前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するよう構成されている、請求項12記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。 - 前記LMR・オーバー・セルラープロトコルは、パケットスイッチングプロトコルを有し、当該マルチモード端末デバイスは、前記セルラー無線モデムを使用して通信する際に、前記パケットスイッチングプロトコルを使用して前記LMRコンテンツをカプセル化するLMRカプセル化モジュールをさらに有する、請求項13記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。
- 前記陸上移動無線機は、プロジェクト25(TIA102)、ETSI TETRAエアリンクプロトコル、オープンスカイ・メイコム独自仕様フォーマット、ネットワークファースト、及びEDACSシステム独自仕様フォーマットのうちの一つを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを伝達する、請求項12記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。
- 前記セルラー無線モデムは、汎用パケット無線サービス(GPRS)、GMS用に強化されたデータ速度(EDGE)、データの最適化(EV−DO)及び汎用携帯電話サービス(UMTS)及び802.11システム規格のうちの一つを使用して前記LMRネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを伝達する、請求項12記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。
- 前記プロセッサが、動作条件、ユーザー設定、所定の設定及びLMR通信の形式のうちの少なくとも一つに基づいて、LMRコンテンツを伝達するために前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラー無線モデムの内の一方を自動的に選択できるようにも構成されている、請求項12記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。
- 前記LMRコンテンツを伝達するために前記LMR通信モジュール及び前記セルラー無線モデムの内の一方を選択するユーザーの入力を受信するユーザーインタフェースをさらに有する、請求項12記載のマルチモード端末デバイス。
- セルラーデータネットワークを使用して陸上移動無線(LMR)コンテンツを伝達する方法であって、
LMRネットワーク又はセルラーデータネットワークの何れかを前記LMRコンテンツを伝送するために指定しているユーザーネットワーク選択をユーザー入力として受信し、
該ユーザーネットワーク選択が、前記LMRコンテンツの伝送に使用可能か否かを陸上移動無線機の少なくとも1つのプログラムされた設定に基づいて決定し、
該ユーザーネットワーク選択を選択的に優先させる一方、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が使用可能でなかった場合には、前記ユーザーが選択していない方のネットワークを通じて前記LMRコンテンツを通信するようにし、
LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットに従ってフォーマットされた前記LMRコンテンツを前記陸上移動無線機で生成し、
前記LMRコンテンツを伝送するために前記セルラーデータネットワークが選択され且つ前記ユーザーネットワーク選択が優先されなかった場合、前記LMRコンテンツを前記LMRネットワークプロトコルフォーマットからセルラーネットワークプロトコルフォーマットへ変換することなく、少なくとも1つのセルラーネットワーク移送プロトコルを使用して前記セルラーデータネットワークを介して前記LMRコンテンツを通信するステップ
を有する方法。 - 陸上移動無線機であって、
陸上移動無線(LMR)ネットワーク又はセルラーデータネットワークの何れかをLMRコンテンツを伝送するために指定しているユーザーネットワーク選択をユーザー入力として受信し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が、前記LMRコンテンツの伝送に使用可能か否かを当該陸上移動無線機の少なくとも1つのプログラムされた設定に基づいて決定し、該ユーザーネットワーク選択を選択的に優先させる一方、該ユーザーネットワーク選択が使用可能でなかった場合には、前記ユーザーが選択していない方のネットワークを通じて前記LMRコンテンツを通信するようにするプロセッサと、
セルラー無線モデムと、
該セルラー無線モデムを介して通信するために前記LMRコンテンツをカプセル化するLMRカプセル化モジュールと
を有する陸上移動無線機。
