Description
図1は本発明の実施形態のスラグ流出防止用プラグを示す中央断面図であり、1はプラグ本体、2はプラグ本体1の外面を覆う乾燥防止用フィルムである。プラグ本体1は図示のように先細テーパ形状に成形されたものであり、その先端径dは図4以下に示される転炉3の出湯口4の内径と同径もしくはやや小径であり、その基部径Dは出湯口4の内径よりもやや大径としておくことが好ましい。プラグ本体1の中央部には、細径の冶具挿入孔5が形成されている。冶具挿入孔5は図1に示すように先端まで貫通させても、あるいは先端は封止して途中までの深さとしてもよい。
図4は転炉3が直立した状態において、出湯口4の内部にスラグ流出防止用プラグが挿入された状態を示している。転炉3の内部には溶鋼10とスラグ11とがあるが、図4の状態ではスラグ11の表面は出湯口4よりも低い位置にある。なお、高温の出湯口4に挿入されることによって乾燥防止用のフィルム2は溶融・焼失し、プラグ本体1のみが出湯口4に押し込まれた状態となる。プラグ本体1は適度の粘性や可塑性を備えているので、出湯口4の内面に密着している。

Claims (7)
- プラグ挿入用冶具により転炉の出湯口に炉外側から挿入されるスラグ流出防止用プラグであって、耐火物を含有した粘土に対して5〜30質量%の水を加えた材料を先細テーパ形状に成形したプラグ本体と、プラグ本体の外面を覆う乾燥防止用フィルムとからなり、プラグ本体の中心部に冶具挿入孔が形成されていることを特徴とするスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- 先細テーパ形状のプラグ本体が、転炉の出湯口と同径以下の先端径と、転炉の出湯口よりも大径の基部径とを有するものであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- 耐火物を含有した粘土に、さらに油分を混練してプラグ本体を構成することを特徴とする請求項1記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- プラグ本体を構成する耐火物を含有した粘土が、70質量%以上の粘土と、30質量%未満のシャモット系耐火物を含むものであることを特徴とする請求項3記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- プラグ本体が、土練機により押出し成形された円柱体を切削して先細テーパ形状に成形されたものであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- 乾燥防止用フィルムが、ポリエチレン樹脂フィルムまたはポリプロピレン樹脂フィルムであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
- プラグ挿入用冶具が、棒の先端部にプラグ本体の基部側の底面を押圧する円板を備えるとともに、この円板の更に先端側にプラグ本体の冶具挿入孔に挿入される棒状部を備えたものであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のスラグ流出防止用プラグ。
