Description
ロックアップピストンと、ロックアップピストンと係合可能な係合面を有するフロントカバーとからなり、ロックアップピストンとフロントカバーの何れか一方に摩擦材が接着され、フロントカバーとロックアップピストンとの間の油圧差に応じて、締結及び解放をするトルクコンバータ用のロックアップクラッチ機構であって、
摩擦材は、外径側に平坦な第1の摩擦面を、内径側にテーパ状に傾斜した第2の摩擦面を備え、ロックアップピストンとフロントカバーとをスリップ制御するときは、第1の摩擦面は均一な面圧で係合し、スリップ制御より大きな油圧差によってロックアップピストンと前記フロントカバーとをほぼ一体的に締結するときは、第1の摩擦面と第2の摩擦面との境界部において最大面圧が発生することを特徴としている。

Claims (2)
- ロックアップピストンと、前記ロックアップピストンと係合可能な係合面を有するフロントカバーとからなり、前記ロックアップピストンと前記フロントカバーの何れか一方に摩擦材が接着され、前記フロントカバーと前記ロックアップピストンとの間の油圧差に応じて、締結及び解放をするトルクコンバータ用のロックアップクラッチ機構であって、
前記摩擦材は、外径側に平坦な第1の摩擦面を、内径側にテーパ状に傾斜した第2の摩擦面を備え、前記ロックアップピストンと前記フロントカバーとをスリップ制御するときは、前記第1の摩擦面は均一な面圧で係合し、前記スリップ制御より大きな油圧差によって前記ロックアップピストンと前記フロントカバーとをほぼ一体的に締結するときは、前記第1の摩擦面と前記第2の摩擦面との境界部において最大面圧が発生し、前記境界部は前記摩擦材を径方向で等分した外径側領域のほぼ中央に位置しており、前記第1の摩擦面と前記第2の摩擦面とは角度を持って接しており、前記第2の摩擦面は、前記大きい油圧差により前記ピストンの内径側が前記フロントカバー側に変形する量より大きく前記フロントカバーから離れる方向に傾斜していることを特徴とするロックアップクラッチ機構。 - 前記第1の摩擦面及び前記第2の摩擦面は切削され、前記第2の摩擦面は、前記大きい油圧差により前記ピストンの内径側が前記フロントカバー側に変形する量より大きく前記フロントカバーから離れる方向に傾斜するように切削されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のロックアップクラッチ機構。
