Description
1)発明の分野
本発明は複合構造物の製造に関し、より詳細には、起伏のある構成に細長いテープを敷設するかまたは配置して複合構造物を形成するための装置および関連する方法に関する。
複合部材は、一般的に、マトリクス材に配置される補強材で形成される。たとえば、補強材はグラファイトなど繊維材料であってもよく、マトリクス材は樹脂状ポリマー材料であってもよい。1つの従来の製造方法によると、複数の細長い複合テープを敷設して部材の層を徐々に重ねる(build)ことによって、複合材料が複合部材の所望の形状に配置される。起伏テープ敷設機(CTLM)を使用して複合部材の形状を画定するマンドレルにテープの第1の層を配置することによって、複合部材を形成するための自動操作を開始することができる。CTLMは、ロールまたは他のテープの供給物を含み、これは所望の構成でマンドレル上にテープを案内するテープ配置ヘッドを用いてマンドレル上に送り出される。すなわち、テープ配置ヘッドがマンドレルとヘッドの間に相対運動を与えるので、ヘッドはマンドレルの表面にわたって移動する。ヘッドは通常、マンドレルが完全におおわれるまで定められたパターンでマンドレル上に繰り返された経路を作成し、表面にわたる連続したヘッドの経路によって、さらなるテープの層が重ねられる。圧縮ローラがマンドレルまたはすでに配置されたテープの層にテープを押圧し、テープの多重の層の接着を容易にする。
本発明は、複合部材および関連する複合部材を形成する方法と装置とを提供する。この方法は、複雑な構成を有する複合部材を形成するために複合テープを配置するのに使用されてもよい。この方法は、ラップ、間隙、しわ、および/またはテープの他の所望されない不均一性の発生を低減または最小限に抑えることができる。

Claims (10)
- 複合部材を形成する方法であって、方法が、
略平行な構成の複数の細長いテープを支持するために複合部材の所望の起伏に形状が対応する起伏表面を設けることであって、各テープはマトリクス材に配置される複数の補強部材を含む、起伏表面を設けることと、
複数の自然な経路セグメントによって画定される経路に沿って細長いテープのそれぞれを配置することであって、各細長いテープの横の縁部がテープのうちの隣接する1つから所定のオフセット距離範囲内で配置されるように、各セグメントは経路の隣接セグメントに対して非自然な角度を画定し、各テープは自然な経路セグメントに対応する複数の連続的な部分を画定することと、を備える、方法。 - 各経路の構成を決定することをさらに含み、それは、
表面の起伏を決定することと、
表面の少なくとも一部にわたり第1の経路を決定することと、
第1の経路に隣接する第2の経路の各自然な経路セグメントの構成を計算することとによってなされ、
各自然な経路セグメントは第1及び第2の端部を有し、第1の端部は、隣接した自然な経路セグメントの第2の端部であり、

- 前記計算するステップが、各自然な経路セグメントの第2の端部のオフセット距離を所定のオフセット距離範囲よりも小さい目標距離にほぼ等しくして、自然な経路セグメントを計算することを備える、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記計算するステップが、
第2の経路の自然な経路セグメントうちの第1の経路セグメントの構成を第2の経路の両側の端部の間の部分的な点で計算することと、
第2の経路の連続した自然な経路セグメントの構成を自然な経路セグメントのうちの第1の経路セグメントから反対方向に計算することであって、各連続した経路セグメントの第2の端部が経路セグメントのうちの連続した1つの第1の端部を画定する、連続した自然な経路セグメントの構成を計算することと、
を備える、請求項2に記載の方法。 - 自然な経路セグメントのうちの第1の経路セグメントの構成を計算する前記ステップの前に、第1の経路に隣接する自然な経路の構成を決定することと、
その間の最小の横の距離を画定する第1の経路に隣接する自然な経路の部分を決定することと、
をさらに備え、
自然な経路セグメントのうちの第1の経路セグメントの構成を計算する前記ステップが、最小の横の距離を画定する自然な経路の部分に位置が対応する点で、自然な経路セグメントのうちの第1の経路セグメントの構成を計算することを備える、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記配置するステップが、細長いテープを自動テープ敷設装置の供給ロールから配置し、かつ圧縮装置で起伏表面にテープを押圧することを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記配置するステップが、連続的な部分のそれぞれが約3インチから6フィートまでの間の長さを画定するように各細長いテープを配置することを備え、各テープにおけるセグメントどうしの隣接部分がその間の非自然なオフセット角を画定する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 起伏表面を画定する複合部材であって、部材が、
起伏表面を画定するのに略平行な構成で配置される複数の細長いテープであって、各テープはマトリクス材に配置される複数の補強部材を含む、複数の細長いテープを備え、
細長いテープのそれぞれが複数の自然な経路セグメントによって画定される経路に沿って配置され、各細長いテープの横の縁部がテープのうちの隣接する1つから所定のオフセット距離範囲内で配置されるように、各セグメントは経路の隣接セグメントに対して非自然なオフセット角を画定し、かつ各テープは自然な経路セグメントに対応する複数の連続的な部分を画定する、複合部材。 - 各テープの連続的な部分のそれぞれが約3インチから6フィートまでの間の長さを画定し、各テープにおけるセグメントどうしの隣接部分がその間の非自然なオフセット角を画定する、請求項9に記載の複合部材。
