Description
Claims (4)
- 軸部の一端にボール部が設けられると共に前記軸部にはリンクを係止するためのフランジ部が設けられたボールシャンクと、このボールシャンクのボール部を包持するボール受け部を有し、前記ボールシャンクが揺動及び回転運動自在に連結されるホルダと、これらホルダとボールシャンクとの間に装着されるブーツシールとを備え、
前記ブーツシールは、前記ホルダに対して固定される円環状のホルダ側固定部と、前記ボールシャンクの軸部を締めつけて前記フランジ部と軸部の隅角部に圧接する円環状のシャンク側シール部と、これらホルダ側固定部とシャンク側シール部とを連結して潤滑剤の保持空間を形成するシール本体部とから構成されたボールジョイントにおいて、
前記ボールシャンクのフランジ部には前記軸部の外周面から段差なく連続する環状のシール部被覆溝が形成され、前記ブーツシールのシャンク側シール部は少なくともその一部がこのシール部被覆溝に没入され、
前記シール部被覆溝の溝幅はシャンク側シール部の厚さよりも大きく形成され、当該シール部被覆溝の大径内側面は前記ブーツシールのシャンク側シール部と非接触に保たれていることを特徴とするボールジョイント。 - 前記シール部被覆溝は断面略矩形状に形成され、その底面及び小径内側面は前記ブーツシールのシャンク側シール部が圧接するシール面を形成していることを特徴とする請求項1記載のボールジョイント。
- 前記ブーツシールのシャンク側シール部を前記シール部被覆溝内に係止する係止段部がボールシャンクの軸部に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のボールジョイント。
- 前記シール部被覆溝は断面略円形状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3記載のボールジョイント。
