Claims (3)
- ターゲット電圧レベルと液晶表示パネルの応答特性により変化する可変電圧レベルを有する液晶駆動信号を発生する第1段階と、
前記液晶駆動信号を前記液晶表示パネルに供給する第2段階と、
前記液晶駆動信号により駆動する前記液晶表示パネルの輝度を検出した後、前記検出された輝度に対応する電圧信号を連続するフレームの各終了時点で検出する第3段階と、
前記応答特性が所定の電圧レベルに達するまで前記検出された電圧信号の差信号を所定の臨界値と比較しつつ前記可変電圧レベルを調整する第4段階と、
前記応答特性が所定の電圧レベルに達する際の可変電圧レベルを温度別に設定されたルックアップテーブルに変調データとして設定する第5段階と、
前記液晶表示パネルの温度を変化させて前記第1ないし第5段階を繰り返して各温度別に設定された変調データを検索する第6段階と、
前記検索された変調データを格納する第7段階と、
前記液晶表示パネルの温度を感知する第8段階と、
前記液晶表示パネルの温度により前記変調データを選択して選択された変調データを利用してソースデータを変調する第9段階と、を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示素子の駆動方法。 - 前記変調データは、前記温度を変化させながらターゲット電圧レベルと液晶表示パネルの応答特性により変化する可変電圧レベルを有する液晶駆動信号に前記液晶表示パネルを駆動する際に検出される前記液晶表示パネルの応答特性が所定の水準に達するような電圧レベルに設定されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示素子の駆動方法。
- 液晶表示パネルの温度を調節するための温度調節器と、ターゲット電圧レベルと液晶表示パネルの応答特性により可変する可変電圧レベルを有する液晶駆動信号を前記液晶表示パネルに供給する信号発生器と、前記液晶駆動信号により駆動する前記液晶表示パネルの輝度を検出した後、前記検出された輝度に対応する電圧信号を連続するフレームの各終了時点で検出する光検出器と、前記応答特性が所定の電圧レベルに達するまで前記電圧信号の差信号を所定の臨界値と比較しつつ前記可変電圧レベルを調整し、前記応答特性が所定の電圧レベルに達する際の可変電圧レベルを温度別に設定されたルックアップテーブルに変調データとして設定するレベル調整器とを備え、前記温度調節器を制御することで前記液晶表示パネルの温度を変化させて各温度別に設定された変調データを検索する液晶の応答時間の測定装置と、
前記液晶表示パネルの温度を感知する温度センサーと、
前記液晶の応答時間の測定装置によって検索された変調データが格納されて前記温度センサーからの温度感知信号に応答して前記変調データを選択して選択された変調データを利用してソースデータを変調する変調器と、を具備することを特徴とする液晶表示素子の駆動装置。
