Claims (12)
- ソース画像のシーケンスを符号化する方法であって、
現在画像と参照画像との間の画素再帰型動き推定を実行することによるノイズフィルタリングを行う事前分析フェーズであって、現在画像の偶数及び奇数フィールドブロックと参照画像の偶数及び奇数フィールドブロックとの相関レベルの計算をこれらブロックの動きベクトルに基づいて行ってインターモードを事前に選択する、事前分析フェーズと、
画像ブロックについての実際の符号化フェーズであって、
現在画像と参照画像との間のブロックマッチングを行うブロックマッチング動き推定段階、及び
符号化コストを計算することにより、
イントラモード、
同じパリティもしくは逆のパリティのフィールド間のインターモード、
フレーム間のインターモード、
を含む符号化モードの中から符号化モードを、前記ブロックマッチング動き推定段階からの動きベクトル及び前記事前に選択されたインターモードに基づいて決定する、前記ブロックマッチング動き推定段階に続く符号化モードの決定段階、
を含む、画像ブロックについての実際の符号化フェーズと、
を含み、
前記符号化モード決定段階でインター符号化モードを決定する場合、前記符号化モード決定段階は、インター符号化モードの中から、前記事前分析フェーズにおいて事前に選択された前記インターモードに対応するインター符号化モードを課す、
ことを特徴とするソース画像のシーケンスを符号化する方法。 - 逆のパリティを有するフィールド間の相関レベルが同じパリティを有するフィールド間の相関レベルよりも低い場合に、フィールド間のインター符号化モードを課す、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記事前分析フェーズはまた、相関レベルに応じてフィールド間又はフレーム間の符号化モードを決定するために、現在画像のフレームブロックと参照画像のフレームブロックとの間の相関の計算を実施する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 画像ブロックをトップブロックとボトムブロックとに区分し、ただし、トップブロックはトップフィールドに対応し、ボトムブロックはボトムフィールドに対応し、また逆も同様であり、
フレーム間のインターモードが、トップブロックとボトムブロックの各々に対して、参照画像の再構成されたトップフィールド又はボトムフィールドを選択することから構成されるようにする、請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記ブロックマッチング動き推定は階層型である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記画素再帰型動き推定を比較的に解像度の低いソース画像に対して実施する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記事前分析フェーズ中に計算された前記ブロックに対応した動きベクトルは、前記ブロックに関係した画素に関して計算された動きベクトルである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記事前分析フェーズ中に計算された前記ブロックに対応した動きベクトルは、前記ブロックに関係した画素に関して計算された動きベクトルの成分のメジアン値又は平均値から得られる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記相関計算を複数の参照画像に対して行い、相関値に応じて前記事前分析フェーズは1つ又は複数の参照画像の選択を行う、請求項1記載の方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法の実行のための符号化装置であって、
前記事前分析フェーズを行う事前分析回路、
前記実際の符号化フェーズを行う実際の符号化回路と
を備え、
前記実際の符号化回路は、
前記ブロックマッチング推定段階を行うブロックマッチング動き推定器と、
前記符号化モードの決定段階を行う符号化モード決定回路と、
を備える、
ことを特徴とする符号化装置。 - 前記事前分析回路は、フィールドレベルでの符号化を行うモードか、フレームレベルでの符号化を行うモードかを選択し、該選択したモードの情報を、動き推定の計算をこの選択されたモードに限定する前記ブロックマッチング動き推定回路に伝送することを特徴とする請求項11記載の装置。
