Description
図1における本発明の好適な実施の形態において、複数のクリップ10は帯板34に配列されているので、複数のクリップ10を容易に工具6に供給できるようになっている。図1に図示するように、帯板34は並行配列で一体に接続された複数のクリップ10を含んでいて、各クリップ10は、ブリッジ部分12(図1参照)と、ロングプロング18と、ショートプロング20とを含んでいて、ロングプロング18はブリッジ部分12から打ち込み方向に延伸しており、ショートプロング20が、ロングプロング18から離間し、ブリッジ部分12からロングプロング18と平行に打ち込み方向へ延伸しており、ショートプロング20はロングプロング18と比較して相当短くなっている。各ロングプロング18は、共通平面ABCDにほぼ整列していて、各ショートプロング20は、共通平面EFGH(図1及び3参照)にほぼ整列しており、クリップ10の帯板34を形成するようになっている。
図4及び7のA−Dにおいて、クリップ10がハウジング36を備えたファスナー駆動工具6に設置されていて、操作員が工具6を保持するためのハンドル38がハウジング36のほぼ後端部に取りつけられている。トリガ40は、工具6を駆動するためにハンドル38に取りつけられている。シリンダ42がハウジング36内部に設置されていて、シリンダ42内部にピストン44が備えられている。ドライバーブレード8はピストン44と連結されているので、ピストン44がシリンダ42を介して打ち込み方向に駆動される場合、ドライバーブレード8も同様に駆動される。ノーズピース46がハウジング36の駆動端部に連結されていて、ノーズピース46は、ドライバーブレード8及びクリップ10を基板1に向けてガイドするためのチャンネル48を含んでいる。
クリップ10駆動用の好適な工具は、共同出願中のAttorney Docket # 14320に開示されていて、ここに参考として包含するものである。
ワイヤラス2を基板1から所定距離SDだけ離間して保持するために、ワイヤラス2は基板1に近接して位置決めされていて、工具6は、クリップ10の駆動時に、ワイヤラス2がプロング18と20との間にあるように位置決めされる。好適な設置方法において、ワイヤラス2は図7のAに図示するようにスロット60内に位置決めされていて、そのスロット60はワイヤラス2をショートプロング20とブリッジ部分20との間で保持する場所に位置決めしている。

Claims (8)
- 対象物(2)を基板(1)から所定位置だけ離間して保持するためのファスナーにおいて、
ブリッジ部分(12)と、
前記ブリッジ部分から打ち込み方向に延伸している第一プロングと、
前記第一プロングから離間し、かつ、前記ブリッジ部分(12)から前記第一プロングとほぼ平行に前記打ち込み方向に前記第一プロング(18)よりも実質的に短く延伸している第二プロング(20)とを具備し、
前記ブリッジ部分(12)、前記第一プロング(18)および前記第二プロング(20)はほぼ直線のセグメントにて形成され、かつ、前記第一プロング(18)および第二プロング(20)は前記ブリッジ部分(12)に対して概ね直角に形成されて成るファスナーにおいて、
前記第二プロング(20)は前記ブリッジ部分(12)よりも短くなっており、前記第二プロング(20)が前記第一プロング(18)に干渉することなく、前記第二プロング(20)および前記ブリッジ部分(12)が前記第一プロング(18)の方へ曲がり、前記対象物(2)を前記第二プロング(20)と前記ブリッジ部分(12)との間にしっかりと保持できるようにしたことを特徴とするファスナー。 - 前記第二プロング(20)の長さが、前記第一プロング(18)の長さの約25%と約45%との間である請求項1に記載のファスナー。
- 前記第二プロング(20)の長さが、前記ブリッジ部(12)の長さの約75%と約99%との間である請求項1に記載のファスナー。
- 前記ブリッジ部分(12)の長さが約12.7mm(約1/2in)であって、前記第一プロング(18)の長さが約31.8mm(約11/4in)であり、前記第二プロング(20)の長さが約11.1mm(約7/16in)である請求項1に記載のファスナー。
- 前記ファスナーが成形されたワイヤで作られている請求項1に記載のファスナー。
- 前記成形されたワイヤが、約1.27mm(約0.005in)の厚さと、約1.59mm(約1/16in)の幅とを有する請求項5に記載のファスナー。
- 前記ファスナーが成形された1018炭素鋼ワイヤで作られている請求項1に記載のファスナー。
- 前記ブリッジ部分(12)の長さが約12.7mm(約1/2in)であって、前記第一プロング(18)の長さが約31.8mm(約1 1/4in)であり、前記第二プロング(20)の長さが約11.1mm(約7/16in)である請求項7に記載のファスナー。
