Claims (2)
- A級増幅器又はAB級増幅器として動作するようにバイアスされたキャリア増幅器と、B級増幅器又はC級増幅器として動作するようにバイアスされたピーク増幅器とを有し、入力信号を前記キャリア増幅器とピーク増幅器とに分岐し、該キャリア増幅器及びピーク増幅器から出力される信号を合成して出力するドハティ増幅器型の増幅器ユニットにおいて、
前記ピーク増幅器のトランジスタデバイスのゲートバイアス電圧を所定の閾値と比較し、比較結果を基に、故障が無い場合にはローレベルの電圧、故障が有る場合にはハイレベルの電圧を示す信号を出力する比較器を有する故障検出回路と、
前記キャリア増幅器を少なくとも含む増幅器ユニット内の増幅器の総合利得を検出し、該総合利得に対応する利得検出電圧を示す信号を前記故障検出回路に出力する利得検出回路を備え、
該故障検出回路は、前記比較器から出力される信号及び該利得検出回路から出力される信号それぞれが示す電圧を合成して、該合成した電圧を前記増幅器ユニットの故障の有無を示す信号として出力することを特徴とするドハティ増幅器型の増幅器ユニット。 - A級増幅器又はAB級増幅器として動作するようにバイアスされたキャリア増幅器と、B級増幅器又はC級増幅器として動作するようにバイアスされたピーク増幅器とを有し、入力信号を前記キャリア増幅器とピーク増幅器とに分岐し、該キャリア増幅器及びピーク増幅器から出力される信号を合成して出力するドハティ増幅器型の増幅器ユニットの故障検出方法において、
前記ピーク増幅器のトランジスタデバイスのゲートバイアス電圧を所定の閾値と比較により比較し、比較結果を基に、故障が無い場合にはローレベルの電圧、故障が有る場合にはハイレベルの電圧を示すピーク増幅器信号を出力し、
前記キャリア増幅器を少なくとも含む増幅器ユニット内の増幅器の総合利得を検出し、該総合利得に対応する利得検出電圧を示すキャリア増幅器信号を出力し、
前記ピーク増幅器信号及び前記キャリア増幅器信号それぞれが示す電圧を合成して、該合成した電圧を前記増幅器ユニットの故障の有無を示す信号として出力する
ことを特徴とするドハティ増幅器型の増幅器ユニットの故障検出方法。
