Description
(1)外装袋と、外装袋内に封入される電気化学素子と、電気化学素子を保護する感熱性保護素子と、外装袋内に封入された、電気化学素子の内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと、内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと接続され、外装袋の外部に突き出している外部電極と、を有する電気化学デバイスであって、外部電極は、内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと接続され、外装袋の外部に突き出している第1外部電極と、外装袋の外部に配置される第2外部電極とを有し、外部電極の、外装袋の外部に突き出している前記第1外部電極の一部は、外装袋の外部表面上で、かつ、電気化学素子と重ならない位置に配置され、感熱性保護素子は、外装袋の外部に突き出している第1外部電極の前記一部と重なるように配置され、第1外部電極は感熱性保護素子を第2外部電極との間に挟んでいる、電気化学デバイス。
(2)感熱性保護素子は、熱伝導性の接着剤で外装袋に固定されている、上記(1)の電気化学デバイス。
(3)感熱性保護素子は、外装袋と接触している、上記(1)の電気化学デバイス。
本発明のリチウム二次電池の構造は特に限定されないが、通常、正極、負極及び高分子固体電解質から構成され、積層型電池や角型電池等に適用される。
本発明の電気二重層キャパシタの構造は特に限定されないが、通常、一対の分極性電極が高分子固体電解質を介して配置されており、分極性電極および高分子固体電解質の周辺部には絶縁性ガスケットが配置されている。このような電気二重層キャパシタはペーパー型、積層型等と称されるいずれのものであってもよい。
<実施例1>
最大厚さ4.0mmの電池に、室温抵抗8mΩ、動作温度の公称値が75℃である厚み0.5mmのPTC素子5を図3の位置にポリイミドの接着テープで張り付けた。PTC素子を取り付けた後の電池の最大厚みは4.0mmであった。なお、素子と外装袋の間には熱伝導性ペースト等は付けていない。また、電池表面の温度を測定するためにKタイプの熱電対8を図3の位置に同様にポリイミドの接着テープで貼り付けた。この電池を端子間電圧8.0Vまで2.2Aの一定の電流で充電し、その後8.0Vに保つように電流を制御しながら充電を行った。
実施例1において、PTC5を図4に示す位置に配置した以外は実施例1と同じ条件で充電を行った。
実施例1において、PTCを付けなかったこと以外、実施例1と同じ条件で充電を行った。

- 外装袋と、外装袋内に封入される電気化学素子と、電気化学素子を保護する感熱性保護素子と、前記外装袋内に封入された、電気化学素子の内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと、前記内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと接続され、外装袋の外部に突き出している外部電極と、を有する電気化学デバイスであって、
前記外部電極は、前記内部電極又は内部電極の取り出しタブと接続され、外装袋の外部に突き出している第1外部電極と、外装袋の外部に配置される第2外部電極とを有し、
前記外部電極の、外装袋の外部に突き出している前記第1外部電極の一部は、外装袋の外部表面上で、かつ、電気化学素子と重ならない位置に配置され、
前記感熱性保護素子は、前記外装袋の外部に突き出している前記第1外部電極の前記一部と重なるように配置され、
前記第1外部電極は前記感熱性保護素子を前記第2外部電極との間に挟んでいる、電気化学デバイス。 - 前記感熱性保護素子は、熱伝導性の接着剤で前記外装袋に固定されている、請求項1記載の電気化学デバイス。
- 前記感熱性保護素子は、前記外装袋と接触している、請求項1記載の電気化学デバイス。
