Description
本出願は、その全体の内容が、参照により本明細書に援用される、2004年5月21日に出願された米国特許仮出願第60/573,085号に対する優先権を主張する。
ステントは、体の管腔の開存性(patency)を維持するために患者の体内に埋め込まれるようになっている拡張可能な埋め込み可能器具である。血管内で使用されるとき、ステントは、脈管が圧壊するのを防止し、脈管壁を補強し、断面積を増加させ、血流を増加させ、健全な血流を回復させるか、又は、維持するのに役立つことができる。初期のステント構造は、管腔を保持するために、人体の管腔内で径方向外側に拡張する、単純なワイヤメッシュ又はコイルを含んでいた。

図1A及び図1Bは、複数の拡張可能リング20、及び、このリングを接続する複数の可撓性の架橋要素30から形成されたステント10を示す。ステント10は、バルーンカテーテル等の拡張器具を配備することによって、挿入構成から拡張した埋め込み構成へと拡張可能である。拡張可能リング20は、ステントに径方向フープ強度を提供し、一方、可撓性の架橋要素30は、ステントが、送出中及び埋め込み時に軸方向に撓むことを可能にする。可撓性の架橋要素30は、架橋要素に沿って実質的に均一に歪みを分布させるように外形を付けられた、変化する幅を有する状態で設計される。架橋要素30の外形を付けられた形状は、架橋要素の疲労強度及び可撓性を最大にする。
Claims (19)
- ステントであって、
複数の支柱で形成される複数の拡張可能リングと、
前記複数の拡張可能リングを相互接続するとともに、前記ステントが軸方向に撓むことを可能にする複数の可撓性の架橋要素と
を備え、
前記複数の可撓性の架橋要素は、
少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材と、
前記複数の架橋要素の拡大された部分で前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材間に配置され且つ有益な作用物質を含む少なくとも1つのリザーバと
を含み、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材は、前記湾曲フレックス部材に沿って実質的に均一に歪みを分布させるように、前記湾曲フレックス部材の長さに沿ってその断面を変えることによって外形を付けられ、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、
前記拡張可能リングに接続される接続脚部と、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される弧状脚部と、
前記弧状脚部を前記接続脚部にオフセット状態で接続するオフセット脚部と
を有し、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される2つの前記湾曲フレックス部材における前記弧状脚部同士は、反対鏡像であり、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材の最大幅部分は、前記複数の架橋要素の軸方向に向く中心線から最も遠い前記弧状脚部の部分に位置する、ステント。 - 前記複数の架橋要素は、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材の最大幅より大きい幅を有する前記拡大された部分を含む、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記弧状脚部は、中央部分において最大幅を有し、両端において狭い幅になるようテーパが付いている、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記複数の拡張可能リングはそれぞれ、実質的にV形状又はU形状に開く複数の支柱から形成される、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記複数の拡張可能リングのうちの隣接するリングは、位相がずれている、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、前記複数の拡張可能リング間の軸方向距離の少なくとも15%の曲率半径を有する、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材は、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材の最大幅の少なくとも2倍の曲率半径を有する、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記可撓性の架橋要素の弾性変形は、前記ステントが挿入直径から埋め込み直径へと拡張するときに、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材に沿って均等に分布する、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材は、屈曲点の無い連続的に湾曲する表面を有する、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記弧状脚部の平面形状は非対称である、請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記架橋要素の前記拡大された部分は、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材を相互接続する剛性部材である、請求項1に記載のステント。
- ステントであって、
複数の拡張可能リングと、
前記リングを相互接続する複数の架橋要素と
を備え、
前記複数の架橋要素は、
ゆるやかにテーパが付いた幅を全体にわたって有する少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材と、
前記複数の架橋要素の拡大された部分で前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材間に配置され且つ有益な作用物質を含む少なくとも1つのリザーバと
を含み、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、
前記拡張可能リングに接続される接続脚部と、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される弧状脚部と、
前記弧状脚部を前記接続脚部にオフセット状態で接続するオフセット脚部と
を有し、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される2つの前記湾曲フレックス部材における前記弧状脚部同士は、反対鏡像であり、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材の最大幅部分は、前記複数の架橋要素の軸方向に向く中心線から最も遠い前記弧状脚部の部分に位置し、
前記弧状脚部の中央部分における幅はそれぞれ、前記弧状脚部の対向する2つの端部分における幅より大きく、
前記弧状脚部はそれぞれ、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材の最大幅の少なくとも2倍の平均曲率半径を有する、ステント。 - 前記複数の拡張可能リングはそれぞれ、実質的にV形状又はU形状に開く複数の支柱から形成される、請求項12に記載のステント。
- 前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、前記複数の拡張可能リング間の軸方向距離の少なくとも15%の曲率半径を有する、請求項12に記載のステント。
- 前記弧状脚部の平面形状は非対称である、請求項12に記載のステント。
- ステントであって、

前記複数の拡張可能リングを相互接続するとともに、前記ステントが軸方向に撓むことを可能にする複数の可撓性の架橋要素と

前記複数の架橋要素の拡大された部分で前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材間に配置され且つ有益な作用物質を含む少なくとも1つのリザーバと
を含み、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材に沿って実質的に均一に歪みを分布させる配置構成で、前記湾曲フレックス部材の長さに沿ってその幅を連続的に変えることによって外形を付けられ、
前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、
前記拡張可能リングに接続される接続脚部と、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される弧状脚部と、
前記弧状脚部を前記接続脚部にオフセット状態で接続するオフセット脚部と
を有し、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバに接続される2つの前記湾曲フレックス部材における前記弧状脚部同士は、反対鏡像であり、

- 前記少なくとも2つの湾曲フレックス部材はそれぞれ、前記複数の拡張可能リング間の軸方向距離の少なくとも15%の曲率半径を有する、請求項16に記載のステント。
- 前記弧状脚部の平面形状は非対称である、請求項16に記載のステント。
