Description
図1は、本発明に係る実施の形態1のプラズマディスプレイ装置に用いられるPDP1の構造を示す分解斜視図である。PDP1は、対向して配置された前面基板2と背面基板3とを有している。前面基板2側から見て、前面基板2の前面ガラス板4上には走査電極5と維持電極6とが互いに平行に対をなして複数対形成されている。そして、これらの走査電極5と維持電極6とを覆うように誘電体層7が形成され、この誘電体層7の表面を覆うように保護層8が形成されている。背面基板3の背面ガラス板9上にはデータ電極10が互いに平行に複数形成され、このデータ電極10を覆うように誘電体層11が形成されている。そして、この誘電体層11の表面と隔壁12の側面とに蛍光体層13が形成されている。さらに、前面基板2と背面基板3とに挟まれた放電空間14には、放電ガスが封入されている。
図10は、本発明に係る実施の形態2におけるプラズマディスプレイ装置の放電電流を供給するための電力供給部の回路図である。この実施の形態2においては、電力供給手段として、第1の電流制御信号Cont及び第2の電流制御信号Vadjにより電力供給量を制御することができるDC−DCコンバータ141を用いている。

Claims (2)
- 走査電極、維持電極及びデータ電極を有する複数の放電セルを備えたプラズマディスプレイパネルに対し、1フィールド期間を初期化期間、書込み期間及び維持期間を有する複数のサブフィールドで構成し、映像信号に基づいて前記維持期間に前記放電セルを放電または非放電させることにより映像を表示するプラズマディスプレイ装置であって、
前記走査電極及び前記維持電極に前記複数の放電セルを放電させるための維持パルス電圧を印加する維持パルス電圧印加部と、
前記維持期間における前記複数の放電セルの放電の割合を示す点灯率を前記映像信号からあらかじめサブフィールドごとに算出する点灯率算出部と、
前記維持パルス電圧印加部に電力を供給する電力供給部と、
前記点灯率に基づいて、前記維持パルス電圧が一定となるように前記電力供給部を制御する制御部とを備え、
前記制御部は、
前記点灯率に基づいて第1の電流制御信号を求めて前記電力供給部に入力するフィードフォワード制御部と、
前記電力供給部の出力電圧に基づいて第2の電流制御信号を求めて前記電力供給部に入力するフィードバック制御部と、を有し、
前記第1の電流制御信号と前記第2の電流制御信号に基づいて前記電力供給部の出力電流を制御することにより前記電力供給部の出力電圧を一定に保持することを特徴とする
プラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記フィードフォワード制御部は、前記点灯率に対応した前記第1の電流制御信号をあらかじめ記憶した記憶部を有することを特徴とする
請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
