本発明は、眼用洗浄および吸引システムならびに、より詳細には、眼用吸引システムにおける排出に関する。

（２．関連技術）
現在市場に出ている全ての眼用洗浄および吸引システムは、ただ１つの排出するための手段を提供する。用語「排出」は、洗浄／吸引システムの構成要素間、あるいは洗浄／吸引システムと周囲の大気圧との間の、真空または圧力差を減少させるかまたは除去する一般的な方法を言う。

用語「液体排出」は、洗浄液経路と吸引経路との間の接続を経由する、眼と接触する吸引回路の部分と吸引回路の残りの部分との間の圧力差の減少を言う。用語「空気排出」または「大気排出」は、吸引経路と大気圧の周辺空気との間の接続を経由する、眼と接触する吸引回路の部分と吸引回路の残りの部分との間の圧力差の減少を言う。

蠕動ポンプを利用する、眼用洗浄／吸引システムにおいては、液体排出は最も一般的に使用される方法である。例えば、Ａｌｃｏｎ Ｌａｂｏｒａｔｏｒｉｅｓより販売されているＡｃｃｕｒｕｓ顕微手術システムは、その蠕動ポンプベースの洗浄／吸引システムにおいて液体排出を使用する。他のタイプの排出はこのシステムにおいては使用されない。

ＡＭＯにより販売されているような、いくつかの蠕動システムにおいては、排出はポンプの逆転を通して達成される。

Claims (4)

  1. 眼用吸引システム（２０）であって、以下：
    ボトル（２２）から洗浄遠位端へ、そして、患者の眼内へと液体を運ぶための、洗浄回路（４８、５０）；
    該洗浄回路と相互に連結された、該患者の眼内から回収バッグ（２６）へと液体を運ぶための、吸引回路（５４、５６、６０、６２）；
    該吸引回路の一部を形成し、該回収バッグと吸引遠位端との間に接続される、ポンプ（２４）；
    該ポンプと該吸引遠位端との間に位置する、吸引弁（３８）；
    該ボトルと該洗浄遠位端との間に位置する、洗浄弁（３４）；
    該洗浄回路と該吸引回路との間に位置する、液体排出弁（３６）；
    該バッグ（２６）および該吸引回路に接続された、較正弁（４０）および較正回路（５８）；ならびに
    該システムにおいて用いられる、液体排出、空気排出、または、液体排出および空気排出の組み合わせを選択するための選択デバイス（６６）であって、該選択デバイスは、電子スイッチ、グラフィカルユーザー、および電子的に制御された電子機械スイッチから選択される、選択デバイス（６６）
    を備える、システム。
  2. 前記選択デバイス（６６）が、電子スイッチである、請求項１に記載の眼用吸引システム（２０）。
  3. 前記選択デバイス（６６）が、グラフィカルユーザーである、請求項１に記載の眼用吸引システム（２０）。
  4. 前記選択デバイス（６６）が、電子的に制御された電子機械スイッチである、請求項１に記載の眼用吸引システム（２０）。
