Description
Claims (21)
- ハイレベル廃棄物(HLW)が装填されたキャビティを乾燥させる方法であって、
(a)非反応性ガスを前記キャビティを通して流すこと、
(b)前記キャビティを退出する前記非反応性ガスの露点温度を繰り返し測定すること、
(c)前記キャビティを退出する前記非反応性ガスの露点温度が所定期間の間、所定露点温度と同等か、またはそれよりも低いときに、非反応性ガスフローを停止して、キャビティを密閉すること、を含む方法。 - 前記ステップ(a)は、前記非反応性ガスを所定のフローレートで前記キャビティを通して流すことを含む、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - 前記キャビティは所定の容積を有し、前記キャビティの容積が毎時25回〜50回交換されるように、前記所定のフローレートが選択される、
請求項2に記載された方法。 - 前記所定露点温度が、前記キャビティ内の所望の蒸気圧に相当するようにして選択される、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - 前記所定露点温度は−6.67〜−3.33℃の範囲内にあり、前記所定期間は25〜35分の範囲内にある、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - 前記所定露点温度が−5.05℃であり、前記所定期間が30分である、
請求項5に記載された方法。 - (d)露点温度が測定された後に、前記キャビティを退出する前記非反応性ガスを乾燥させること、
(e)その乾燥させられた非反応性ガスを前記キャビティを通り抜けて再循環させること、をさらに含む、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - 前記ステップ(d)は、前記非反応性ガスを除湿剤で乾燥させることを含む、
請求項7に記載された方法。 - 前記ステップ(d)は、前記非反応性ガスを冷却することで非反応性ガスを乾燥させることを含む、
請求項7に記載された方法。 - 前記非反応性ガスは、窒素、二酸化炭素、軽量の炭化水素ガス、または、ヘリウム、アルゴン、ネオン、ラドン、クリプトン及びキセノンからなる一群から選択される貴ガスである、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - 前記所定露点温度は、前記キャビティ内の蒸気圧が3Torrまたはそれ以下に相当するようにして選択される、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - (d)露点温度が測定された後に、前記キャビティを退出する前記非反応性ガスを乾燥させること、
(e)その乾燥させられた非反応性ガスを前記キャビティを通り抜けて再循環させること、をさらに含み、
前記所定露点温度は、前記キャビティ内の蒸気圧が3Torrまたはそれ以下に相当するようにして選択され、
前記ステップ(a)は、前記非反応性ガスを所定のフローレートで前記キャビティを通して流し、その結果、キャビティの容積が毎時25〜50回回転させられ、
前記非反応性ガスはヘリウムであって、
前記キャビティはキャニスタによって構成され、使用済み核燃料が装填されており、当該キャニスタがキャスク内に配置される、
請求項1に記載された方法。 - ハイレベル廃棄物(HLW)が装填されたキャビティを乾燥させるシステムであって、
注入口と排出口とを備えた前記キャビティ、を構成するキャニスタと、
非反応性ガス源と、
前記非反応性ガス源からの非反応性ガスを前記キャビティを通して流すフロー手段と、
前記キャビティを退出する前記非反応性ガスの露点温度を繰り返し測定する露点温度測定手段と、
前記露点温度測定手段に動作可能に接続された制御器と、を備え、
前記露点温度測定手段は、測定した前記非反応性ガスの露点温度を示す信号を生成し、前記制御器へ送信するように適合させられており、
前記制御器は、前記信号を解析し、当該信号が、測定した前記露点温度が所定期間の間、所定露点温度と同等か、またはそれよりも低いことを示す、と決定したときにはさらに、(i)前記キャビティを通した非反応性ガスフローを停止する、および/または、(ii)キャビティが乾燥状態にあることを示す手段を作動させるように適合させられていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記非反応性ガスを乾燥させる乾燥手段をさらに備え、当該乾燥手段が前記露点温度測定手段の下流に配置されている、
請求項13に記載されたシステム。 - 前記乾燥手段が冷却装置を含む、
請求項14に記載されたシステム。 - 前記乾燥手段が除湿剤を含む、
請求項14に記載されたシステム。 - 前記乾燥手段からの非反応性ガスを再循環させて前記非反応性ガス源へ戻す再循環手段をさらに備えた、
請求項14に記載されたシステム。 - 前記所定露点温度は−6.67〜−3.33℃の範囲内にあり、前記所定期間は25〜35分の範囲内にあり、前記フロー手段は、前記非反応性ガスを所定のフローレートで前記キャビティを通して流し、その結果、前記所定期間の間に、キャビティの容積が毎時25〜50回交換させられる、
請求項13に記載されたシステム。 - 前記露点温度測定手段は湿度計を含む、
請求項13に記載されたシステム。 - キャスクをさらに備え、前記キャニスタが当該キャスク内に配置される、
請求項13に記載されたシステム。 - 前記キャニスタが内部に配置されるキャスクと、
前記非反応性ガスを乾燥させる手段であって、前記露点温度測定手段の下流に配置されている乾燥手段と、
前記乾燥手段からの非反応性ガスを再循環させて前記非反応性ガス源へ戻し、それによって閉ループシステムを形成する再循環手段と、
を備え、
前記所定露点温度は−6.67〜−3.33℃の範囲内にあり、前記所定期間は25〜35分の範囲内にあり、前記フロー手段は、前記非反応性ガスを所定のフローレートで前記キャビティを通して流し、その結果、前記所定期間の間に、キャビティの容積が毎時25〜50回交換させられ、
前記露点温度測定手段は湿度計を含む、
