Description
Claims (10)
- 燃焼装置(12)における石炭の燃焼からのガス放出物中の水銀を減少させる方法において、
a.前記燃焼装置の一次燃焼ゾーン(26)における燃焼中に過剰酸素(16)が少量であるか又は存在しない条件の下で前記一次燃焼ゾーン(26)で石炭(14)を燃焼させることと、
b.燃焼中に炭素を豊富に含有するフライアッシュを生成することと、
c.燃焼中に燃焼により生成される煙道ガスの中へ水銀を放出することと、
d.前記燃焼装置の一次燃焼ゾーンの下流側にある燃焼後ゾーン(28)で燃焼空気を噴射することにより、燃焼空気をステージングすること(20)と、
e.フライアッシュによって煙道ガス中の水銀を吸着することと、
f.燃焼廃棄物処理システムでフライアッシュを吸着された水銀と共に回収すること(32)と
を含み、
前記一次燃焼ゾーン(26)で石炭(14)を燃焼させること(a)が、石炭の燃焼により生成されるフライアッシュの中に活性炭を放出するように、一次燃焼ゾーンにおける過剰酸素のレベルを2%以下に維持することを含むことを特徴とする、方法。 - 燃焼中の過剰酸素(16)のレベルは約1.0%未満である請求項1記載の方法。
- 燃焼中の過剰酸素(16)のレベルは約0.5%未満である請求項1記載の方法。
- 燃焼中の過剰酸素(16)のレベルは石炭の燃焼に必要とされる酸素の化学量論的量より少ない請求項1記載の方法。
- 水銀の吸着を容易にするために、フライアッシュを活性炭によって233°C(450°F)以下の温度まで冷却させること(30)を更に含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記燃焼後ゾーン(28)はステージングされた燃焼空気が噴射されるオーバーファイアバーンアウトゾーン(40、42)を含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 燃焼から放出される水銀は元素水銀(Hg0)であり、煙道ガスが冷却するにつれて元素水銀を酸化することを更に含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 酸化された水銀はスクラバー(48)において煙道ガスから除去される請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記燃焼廃棄物処理システムは、フライアッシュを吸着された水銀と共に捕捉し、捕捉されたフライアッシュをフライアッシュ回収装置へ排出する微粒子制御装置(32)を含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記燃焼廃棄物処理システムは、フライアッシュが約205°C(400°F)以下の温度まで冷却した後にフライアッシュを捕捉する粒子制御装置(32)を含む請求項1記載の方法。
