Description
Claims (10)
- 触媒センサ(12)を使用して周囲ガス中の可燃性ガスを測定する方法において、
周囲ガスのボリュームからの前記触媒センサへのガス拡散を最小限に抑えるために前記触媒センサを流通チャンバ(16)内に収納する工程と、
前記周囲ガスのボリュームから分離したガス試料を前記流通チャンバへ引き込むガス試料引き込み工程(60、72)と、
前記周囲ガスが前記流通チャンバに流れ込むときの前記触媒センサの第1の出力を測定する第1センサ出力測定工程(62,74)と、
前記流通チャンバ内への前記周囲ガスの流入を遮断する流入遮断工程と、
前記周囲ガスの流入の遮断の間に、前記触媒センサの第2の出力を測定する第2センサ出力測定工程(62、76)と、
前記センサの前記第1の出力と第2の出力とに基づいて前記可燃性ガスの状態を決定する状態決定工程と、
を具備することを特徴とする可燃性ガス測定方法。 - 前記周囲ガスの流入は対流により前記流通チャンバ(16)内へ引き込まれる(60、72)ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記周囲ガスの流入の遮断を、前記流通チャンバ内におけるガス試料の触媒による燃焼の間は維持することを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ガス試料引き込み工程と、第1センサ出力測定工程と、流入遮断工程と、第2センサ出力測定工程とは定期的に繰り返される測定サイクルを構成することを特徴とする請求項1の方法。
- 前記ガス試料中の複数の可燃性ガスのうちの少なくとも1つの可燃性ガスの濃度を判定するために、複数のセンサ出力測定値を解析する工程(66、78、80、88)を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記状態決定工程は、更に、
上記複数のセンサ出力測定値に基づいて、前記ガス試料中の少なくとも2つの可燃性ガスの濃度レベルを決定する工程を具備することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。 - 触媒センサ(12)を使用して周囲ガス中に含まれる可燃性ガスを測定する方法において、
周囲ガスのボリュームからの触媒センサへのガス拡散を最小限に抑えるために前記触媒センサを流通チャンバ(16)内に収納する工程と、
前記周囲ガスのボリュームから分離したガス試料を前記流通チャンバへ引き込むガス試料引き込み工程(60、72)と、
前記ガス試料が前記流通チャンバに流入した後、前記流通チャンバ内への前記周囲ガスの流入を遮断する流入遮断工程と、
上記周囲ガスの流入の遮断に同期して前記触媒センサの出力を測定するセンサ出力測定工程と、 前記ガス試料引き込み工程と流入遮断工程とセンサ出力測定工程とは定期的に繰り返される測定サイクルを構成し、
前記ガスのサンプリングの周期と共に交番変化する前記センサ出力信号の振幅に基づいて、前記試料内の可燃性ガスの濃度レベルを決定する工程と更に具備することを特徴とする可燃性ガス測定方法。 - 触媒センサ(12)を使用して周囲ガス中の可燃性ガスを測定する方法において、
周囲ガスのボリュームからの触媒センサへのガス拡散を最小限に抑えるために前記触媒センサを流通チャンバ(16)内に収納する工程と、
前記周囲ガスのボリュームから分離したガス試料を前記流通チャンバへ引き込むガス試料引き込み工程(60、72)と、
前記ガス試料が前記流通チャンバに流入した後、前記流通チャンバ内への前記周囲ガスの流入を遮断する流入遮断工程と、
上記周囲ガスの流入の遮断に同期して前記触媒センサの出力を測定するセンサ出力測定工程と、
を具備し、 この方法は、前記ガス試料引き込み工程に先立って、
前記流通チャンバから周囲ガスを吐き出す工程(54)と、
前記流通チャンバ内に残留する可燃性ガスを燃焼させる工程(56)と、
前記流通チャンバ内に残留する可燃性ガスを燃焼させた後、前記触媒センサからの基準出力信号を測定する工程(62)とを更に有することを特徴とする方法。 - さらに、
前記触媒センサを、前記第1の測定に先立って通電し、この通電を前記第2の測定の後になるまで継続する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1の方法。 - 前記触媒センサは、前記第1の測定の前から前記第2の測定の後まで連続的に通電されることを特徴とする請求項1の方法。
