Description
The present invention relates to a method for repairing defects or the like in a color filter for liquid crystal display.
Therefore, conventionally, after irradiating the defective portion with laser light and removing the defective portion, using a dispenser, an ultraviolet curable color filter coloring ink is supplied to the surface to be corrected, and then irradiated with ultraviolet rays. The correction method (patent document 1) etc. which harden the said ultraviolet curable color filter coloring ink is used.
However, in the correction method according to the prior art, since the correction material contains a large amount of volatile solvent, the viscosity is low, and when the correction material is supplied to the correction portion, the correction material spreads on the surface to be corrected. There is.
Further, in the prior art, the amount of the correction material is significantly reduced when UV-cured, and the correction material is supplied to the correction portion in anticipation of the reduction amount. There is a problem that mixing of the above becomes remarkable.
As a result, when the defect extends to at least two red, green, and blue color filters across the black filter that separates the red, green, and blue filters, mixing occurs between the correction materials, depending on the target color. Repair may not be possible.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a method for correcting a defect extending to at least two colored filters sandwiching a black filter without causing mixing between correction materials of respective colors in the previous period. With the goal.
The present invention is characterized by the following points in order to solve the above problems.
The color filter correcting method according to
After removing the color filter and black filter in a predetermined range including the defect with a laser beam,
When the black correction material, which is nonvolatile and ultraviolet curable, is cured by irradiating the black correction material with ultraviolet rays within the predetermined range removed by the laser beam, the black correction after the curing is performed. at the height of the use material than the height of the black filter unmodified portion, after supplying amount as and equal to or less than the height of the chromatic color filter, and then cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays to fix a material for the black ,
Next, a part of the black correction material cured by the ultraviolet ray that is present in the region of the color filter within the predetermined range removed by the laser beam is removed by the laser beam, whereby a new black filter having a predetermined shape is obtained. After forming the part,
After supplying each non-volatile and ultraviolet curable predetermined color correction material to each of the color filter regions within the predetermined range, delimited by the new black filter portion,
The colored correction materials supplied to the respective ranges are simultaneously irradiated with ultraviolet rays and cured.
The present invention has the following excellent effects.
The filter repair method according to
Further, since the correction material is a non-volatile and ultraviolet curable material, there is little decrease in capacity when the correction material is cured, and the thickness of the color correction material and the black correction material after correction is reduced. It is possible to prevent a decrease in color density due to the decrease.
The black correction material absorbs laser light better than the colored correction material (it is less affected by the wavelength of the laser light), and the laser of the black correction material cured by the ultraviolet light is the laser. It is possible to easily remove a portion in the area of the color filter in the predetermined area removed by light.
Furthermore, supplying each color correction material within the predetermined range which is divided by a new black filter portion which is not less than the height of the black filter of the uncorrected portion and not more than the height of the color filter. Then, since the respective color correction materials are cured simultaneously, correction can be performed in a short time, and the correction by the target color can be easily performed without causing mixing between the color correction materials. .
In order to easily correct a color filter having a defect that covers at least two color filters across the black filter without causing color mixing, a predetermined range including the defect is removed with a laser beam and then non-volatile. A new black filter part having a predetermined shape is formed using a black and ultraviolet curable correction material, and then a non-volatile and ultraviolet curable predetermined color correction material is used for coloring. An operation for correcting the filter portion is performed.
The predetermined shape is a width equivalent to the width of the black filter around the predetermined range, and is equal to or greater than the thickness of the black filter around the predetermined range, and is a colored filter around the predetermined range. Means a shape having a thickness equal to or less than the thickness of the black filter, preferably a width equivalent to the width of the black filter around the predetermined range, and a thickness equivalent to the thickness of the color filter around the predetermined range. It is.
Further, the non-volatile and ultraviolet curable correction material is preferably a material containing no volatile solvent, but is not limited to a material containing no volatile solvent.
That is, when the correction material is cured by ultraviolet irradiation, a volatile solvent may be included to such an extent that a reduction in the volume of the correction material does not become a problem.
The content of the volatile solvent varies depending on other component properties contained in the correction material.

In
This is because when the black correction ink droplet 23 is cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays, the volume of the droplet 23 contracts as shown in FIG. This is for supplying the correction ink 22A.
Further, since the expected shrinkage amount varies depending on the properties of the correction ink to be used, it is determined on the basis of data of the thickness of the correction ink droplet to be used after UV curing, which has been measured in advance.

Next, the shape and center position of the opening 8E of the variable slit 8 are adjusted using the
Next, the shape and center position of the opening 8E of the variable slit 8 are further adjusted using the
Thereafter, the dispenser moving device is operated so that the tip of the dispenser nozzle 13B containing the green correction ink is brought into contact with the glass substrate 2E in the green region 21B, and then the pressure control valve is used using the
Next, the dispenser moving device is operated to move the dispenser nozzle 13B to a position where the tip of the dispenser nozzle 13B is not irradiated with the ultraviolet rays (the origin position of the dispenser nozzle 13B), and then the red correction ink 22C is stored. After the tip of the dispenser nozzle 13C is brought into contact with the glass substrate 2E in the red region 21C, the
The amounts of green and red correction inks 22B and 22C supplied to the green area 21B and red area 21C are shown in FIG. 7 (f) so that these correction inks do not overflow beyond the green area 21B and red area 21C. As described above, the maximum thickness of the green correction ink droplet 24A and the red correction ink droplet 24B is supplied to be slightly smaller than the thickness of the new black filter portion 25.
Thereafter, the dispenser moving device is operated to move the dispenser nozzle 13C to a position where the tip of the dispenser nozzle 13C is not irradiated with the ultraviolet rays, and then the shutter of the
Further, if there is a correction location in addition to the correction location, the correction location is moved directly below the objective lens 5 and correction is performed in the above-described process (step 10). finish.
In this embodiment, after the new black filter 25 is formed, the green correction ink droplet 24A and the red correction ink droplet 24B are simultaneously cured by ultraviolet rays. The droplets 24B may be cured separately.
In this embodiment, the ultraviolet curable correction ink is used. However, a thermosetting correction ink may be used, and in that case, an incandescent light irradiator for heating is used instead of the
Further, in this embodiment, the thickness of the new black filter is set to be the same as the thickness of the colored filter around the predetermined range 21. However, the present invention is not limited to this. The thickness may match the required light blocking performance.
Furthermore, in this embodiment, the laser beam is used to remove the defective portion, but it may be removed mechanically.
In this embodiment, a correction method for so-called black defects (defects in which foreign matter is mixed) is described. However, so-called white defects (defects in which colors are not sufficiently present in a part of filters of each color). Needless to say, the white defect portion can be corrected by the above-described method after it is removed with a laser beam.

About a color filter composed of a plurality of color filters having a predetermined thickness and width, and a black filter which is arranged so as to divide the color filters and is thinner than the color filter and has a predetermined width , In correcting defects that span at least two color filters across the black filter,
After removing the color filter and black filter in a predetermined range including the defect with a laser beam,
When the black correction material, which is nonvolatile and ultraviolet curable, is cured by irradiating the black correction material with ultraviolet rays within the predetermined range removed by the laser beam, the black correction after the curing is performed. at the height of the use material than the height of the black filter unmodified portion, after supplying amount as and equal to or less than the height of the chromatic color filter, and then cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays to fix a material for the black ,
Next, a part of the black correction material cured by the ultraviolet ray that is present in the region of the color filter within the predetermined range removed by the laser beam is removed by the laser beam, whereby a new black filter having a predetermined shape is obtained. After forming the part,
After supplying each non-volatile and ultraviolet curable predetermined color correction material to each of the color filter regions within the predetermined range, delimited by the new black filter portion,
A method for correcting a color filter, characterized in that a colored correction material supplied to each of the ranges is simultaneously irradiated with ultraviolet rays to be cured.
