Claims (11)
- 複数の光源を含むディスプレイ装置において、
前記光源に電源を供給する可変電源供給部と;
トランジスタを有し、前記光源に直列に連結されているスイッチング部と;
前記スイッチング部と接地との間に連結されている電流感知抵抗と;
前記スイッチング部に流れる電流値を検出し、検出された電流値が所定範囲内にあるように前記スイッチング部を制御するフィードバック部と;
前記光源の初期駆動時または正常駆動時に、相異なるレベルの複数の基準電圧と前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧とを比較して、前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧が一定に維持されるように前記可変電源供給部を制御する制御部と;
を含み、
前記制御部は、前記光源の正常駆動時に、前記トランジスタが飽和状態となる最小のドレイン−ソース間の電圧より大きいかまたは同一である第1基準電圧よりも大きい第2基準電圧と、前記第1基準電圧よりも小さい第3基準電圧とを所定の周期ごとに順次に発生させ、前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧が前記第2基準電圧よりも大きい場合、前記光源が短絡されたと判断し、前記光源への電源供給を中断するように前記可変電源供給部を制御し、前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧が前記第3基準電圧よりも小さい場合、前記光源がオープンされたと判断し、前記光源への電源供給を中断するように前記可変電源供給部を制御する、ことを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御部は、
前記光源の駆動状態に応じて前記複数の基準電圧を発生する基準電圧発生部と;
入力された前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧と前記基準電圧とを比較する比較部とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧が増加するほど前記光源の両端の電圧は減少することを特徴とする請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチング部は電界效果トランジスタであり、
前記第1基準電圧は、前記光源の初期駆動時、前記基準電圧発生部によって、前記電界效果トランジスタが飽和状態となる最小のドレイン−ソース間の電圧より大きいかまたは同一であるよう発生させられることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記スイッチング部の両端の電圧が前記第1基準電圧よりも大きい場合、直前に前記可変電源供給部が供給した電圧よりも小さい電圧を前記光源に供給するように前記可変電源供給部を制御することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記可変電源供給部は、直前に前記可変電源供給部が供給した電圧より前記第1基準電圧の5〜15%程度小さい電圧を前記光源に供給することを特徴とする請求項5に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記基準電圧発生部は、電圧分配のための抵抗ストリングと、前記抵抗ストリングに連結されている複数のスイッチとを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチング部は、電界效果トランジスタ及び双極接合トランジスタのうちのいずれか一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記光源は発光ダイオードを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記光源から放出された光を集束する照明システムと、
前記照明システムから光の提供を受けて映像を具現するディスプレイユニットと、
前記ディスプレイユニットによって具現された映像を拡大投射する投射システムと、
投射された映像が表示されるスクリーンとをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ディスプレイユニットは、DMDユニット、LCOSユニット及びLCDユニットのうちのいずれか一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のディスプレイ装置。
