スクリーン印刷、殊に被印刷物としてのプリント基板に対する半田ペースト等のペーストのスクリーン印刷においては、その発生が不可避なスクリーン版の下面やパターン開孔のペースト残渣等の付着による汚れを放置したまま印刷を続行すると、プリント基板に印刷されるペーストパターンに、にじみ、かすれ、断線等の印刷不良が発生するので、上記の如き汚れを除去してスクリーン版をクリーニングしてやらなければならない。

そこで、かっては、スクリーン版の汚れの清掃を紙や布等を用いて人手をかけて行っていたが、近年では、それを自動的に行えるようにした各種タイプの装置が提供されるに至っている。しかし乍ら、それらの従来例にはいずれも一長一短があり、乾燥ないし固化の程度が比較的高いペースト残渣がスクリーン版の下面やパターン開孔内に付着している場合や、開口寸法が著しく小さい微細なパターン開孔内に半田ペーストの如き粘性の極めて高いペーストが付着して残留しているような場合にあっては、それら従来公知の装置では、一般に、それらの汚れを能率的かつ効果的に清掃することが困難であった。

本発明は、従来公知の有する上記の如き不都合ないし欠点を除去改善すぺくなされたものであって、スクリーン版の下面やパターン開孔内に付着した半田ペースト等のペースト残渣を能率的かつ効果的に除去し得るようにした、特にプリント基板に対する半田ペーストの高精度・高密度スクリーン印刷に好適なスクリーン版クリーニング装置を提供することをその主たる目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明に係るスクリーン版クリーニング装置は、被印刷物に対しスクリーン版を介してペーストを印刷するスクリーン印刷機におけるスクリーン版クリーニング装置てあって、スクリーン版の下面に接触した状態で移動させると、その移動に伴って、該スクリーン版の下面に付着したペーストの残渣を摺動除去し得るようにした第1の残渣除去手段と、該第1残渣除去手段と一体に移動し、該スクリーン版のパターン開口の内側面に付着したペーストの残渣を該スクリーン版の下方から吸引除去し得るようにした第2の残渣除去手段とを併有する第1のクリーニングヘッドと、該第1クリーニングヘッドの移動方向の前方又は後方に該第1クリーニングヘッドと一体に移動するように配置されていて、その移動に伴って、クリーニングシートを介して前記スクリーン版下面に間接的に接触した状態で移動する前後一対のクリーニングローラを具備し、その移動に伴って、前方のローラが溶剤を塗布した該クリーニングシートの部分で、後方のローラが溶剤が未塗布の状態の該クリーニングシートの部分でそれぞれ該スクリーン版下面の汚れを清掃し得るようにした第2のクリーニングヘッドとを備えたことを特徴とするものである。

前記シート・パスライン機構6は、図示の例にあっては、シート供給部としての箱状容器4の直上部位に配置されたガイドロール9と、後方のクリーニングローラ5Bと、両クリーニングローラ5A、5B間においてその下方部位に配設したピンチローラとしての径大な中間ローラ10と、この中間ローラ10にその下方から両クリーニングローラ5A、5B間に延在するシート2の部分を押さえ付けて駆動する該中間ローラ10より径小な駆動ローラ11と、前方のクリーニングローラ5Aと、このクリーニングローラの下流側に配置したガイドロール12と、このガイドロール12の下部近傍に設けたテンションロール13と、このテンションロール13の下方に配設されていて、その一方をピントローラ14とし、その他方を駆動ローラ15として、その間にシート2をパスさせる一対のローラ16とからなっており、シート2を巻き取る巻取ローラ及びその駆動機構からなる巻取装置の設置は省略されている。そして、シート2を介して前記中間ローラ10を回転駆動する駆動ローラ11及びシート・パスライン機構6の終端部を構成する前記一対のローラ16のうちの駆動ローラ15は後述するベルトないしチェン駆動機構によって駆動されるようになっている。

前記溶剤塗布手段7は、図示の例にあっては、クリーニングシート2を前記中間ローラ10に押さえつけて駆動する駆動ローラ11及びその駆動機構からなっており、該駆動ローラ11はその下側に設けた溶剤8Aを収容する溶剤タンク8から連続的に給送される溶剤8Aをその回転に伴って前記したシート部分に浸み込ませる塗布ローラとしての機能を併有している。そして、この塗布ローラとしての機能を併有する駆動ローラ11は、溶剤タンク8の下部近傍に取り付けられた電動機17を含むベルトないしチェン駆動機構18によって回転駆動されるようになっている。また、前記した他の駆動ローラ15は該電動機17を共通の動力源とする他のベルトないしチェン駆動機構18Bによって回転駆動されるようになっている。

以上の如く構成されたスクリーン版クリーニング装置において、第1及び第2クリーニングヘッドA、Bからなる装置本体を昇降駆動手段Cを起動して待機位置からクリーニング開始位置まで上昇させ、第1クリーニングヘッドAの第1残渣除去手段としてのへら状体32をスクリーン版下面1Aに弾性的に接触させると共に、第2クリーニングヘッドBのクリーニングローラ5A、5Bを介してクリーニングシート2をスクリーン版下面1Aに弾性的に押し付けてやり、かつ、第1クリーニングヘッドAに連結されている吸気装置を作動させると共に、第2クリーニングヘッドBのシート・パスライン機構6を起動する。この状態において往復起動機構を作動させて装置本体を矢印Xの方向へ移動させると、図4に示すように、先ず第一に、先行する第1クリーニングヘッドAのへら状体32がスクリーン版下面1Aに付着したペースト残渣R1を摺動除去すると共に、第2残渣除去手段としての吸引ノズル部A3がスクリーン版1のパターン開孔1Bの内側面に付着したペースト残渣R2、へら状体32によって摺動除去された残渣R1及びクリーニング動作中にへら状体32に付着した残渣を吸引除去する。
