Description
第2パッドの円周方向端間は、好ましくは第1パッドの円周方向端よりも広い。
ポンプ・チャンバを横切って(ポンプ・チャンバの前後で)差圧が形成され、カムリングは圧力変動に応答して高圧パッドと低圧パッドとの間で移動可能である。ランドとカムリングとの間の間隙は、ベアリングを通過する流体の流れを選択的に変えて圧力を維持する。これにより、撓みの問題を懸念せずに比較的剛性の高いベアリング装架手段を与えることができる。
本発明のさらに別の利点は、下記の詳細な記載を読みかつ理解したとき当業者にとっては明らかになるであろう。
高圧パッドの幾何学的形状は、流体圧によって発生された力が内部ポンピング要素によって発生された力よりわずかに大きくなるように、決定される。第1高圧パッド102の円周方向範囲、すなわち4時から8時までの範囲は、カムリング70の半径方向厚みによって画定される。第1高圧パッド102の縁102a、102bは、カムリング70の内面72の径寸法を示す水平線の長さ部分よりも外側に外れた位置に配置されることが望ましい(図5参照)。シールおよび高圧溝の側面は、カムスリーブ(ヨーク)の面50a、50bに沿っていて、且つ、ポンピング要素を挟み込むポート板90、92(図3)によって作られる。高圧流体(ジェット燃料)が図6に示すパッド貫通孔120に供給され、カムスリーブ(ヨーク)50とカムリング70との間のインターフェース(接合部分)への流れが貫通オリフィス122(図6においては1つだけが示されている)に制限される。図からわかるように、高圧のオリフィス122は、ベアリング組立体のこの領域における各開口または孔120と連通する。
Claims (15)
- ベーンを支持するロータを回転自在に受けるハウジングを有する燃料送出装置にして、前記ロータが、前記ハウジングと前記ロータとの間に位置づけられた回転可能なカムリング内に受け入れられ、前記カムリングは、前記ハウジングと前記ロータとのそれぞれに相対的に自由に回転可能である、燃料送出装置におけるベアリング組立体において、
流体ベアリング部材にして、関連づけられたカムリングを受けるように寸法づけられた中央開口を有する環状面を備えた流体ベアリング部材を含み、
前記環状面は、第1高圧パッドと、該第1高圧パッドに対してほぼ直径方向に沿って対向位置にある第2低圧パッドと、前記第1高圧パッドおよび前記第2低圧パッドを互いに分離して、前記関連づけられたカムリングを作動中に中心位置決めする第1および第2ランドと、を備える、ベアリング組立体。 - 前記第2低圧パッドの円周方向端間は、前記第1高圧パッドの円周方向端間よりも広い、請求項1に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記第1高圧パッドおよび前記第2低圧パッドは、前記ベアリング部材の全幅にわたって延びる円周方向伸長溝によって形成されている、請求項1に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記ベアリング部材の回転を防止する手段をさらに備えている、請求項1に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記防止手段は、さらに前記カムリングと前記ベアリング部材との間の相対滑りを防止するようになされている、請求項4に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 燃料送出装置にして、ベーンを支持するロータを回転自在に受けるハウジングと、該ハウジングと前記ロータとの間に回転可能に受けられたカムリングと、該カムリングを包囲し且つ燃料送出装置からの燃料の流れを変えるようにアクチュエータ組立体により前記ハウジングに対して選択的に動かされ得るヨークと、を有する燃料送出装置に関連づけられたベアリング組立体であって、
前記ヨークとして、中央開口を有する環状面を含む流体ベアリング部材を備え、前記環状面が、第1高圧パッドと、該第1高圧パッドに対してほぼ直径方向に沿って対向位置にある第2低圧パッドにして、第1および第2ランドによって前記第1高圧パッドから分離された第2低圧パッドと、を有する、ベアリング組立体。 - 前記第2低圧パッドの円周方向端間は、前記第1高圧パッドの円周方向端間よりも広い、請求項6に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記第1高圧パッドおよび前記第2低圧パッドは、前記ベアリングの全幅にわたって延びる円周方向伸長溝によって形成されている、請求項6に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記ベアリング部材の回転を防止する手段をさらに備えている、請求項6に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記防止手段は、さらに前記カムリングと前記ベアリング部材との間の相対滑りを防止するようになされている、請求項9に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 高圧の発生を防止するために前記ベアリング部材を貫通し且つ前記第2低圧パッドに連通する圧力を逃がすための通路をさらに備えている、請求項6に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記圧力を逃がすための通路は、前記第1高圧パッドに連通した高圧供給オリフィスよりも大きい断面積を有し、それにより差圧が前記カムリングの第1高圧パッド側と第2低圧パッド側との間に形成される、請求項11に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記カムリングが、前記カムリングの第1高圧パッド側と第2低圧パッド側との間に形成された差圧によって、前記第1高圧パッドおよび前記第2低圧パッド間を動き、それによって、前記ランドと前記カムリングとの間の間隙を変えるようになされている、請求項12に記載のベアリング組立体。
- 前記ヨークおよび前記カムリングを備えた前記ベアリング組立体は、平坦面上を転動することにより、ハウジングに対して転がり運動するようになされており、それにより、前記カムリングが選択的直線移動を受けるようになされている、請求項6に記載のベアリング組立体。
