Description
Claims (24)
- 可撓性で抗よじれ性の挿入器シースにおいて、近位端と遠位端とを有しており、
実質的に均一な直径を有する孔が内部を貫通して長手方向に伸張している内側管と、
前記内側管の周りで長手方向に配置され、相互に所定の間隙を空けて設けられた複数の巻きを備えているコイルと、
前記コイルと前記内側管の周りで長手方向に配置され、前記巻きの間の前記間隙を通して前記内側管に接続されている外側管であって、高いデュロメーターの1つの主要管セグメントと、該主要管セグメントより低いデュロメーターで何れも長さが約5cmを超えない長さとされた3つの非主要管セグメントを含む複数の管セグメントを備え、該管セグメントが前記近位端から前記遠位端までデュロメーターが下がる順に並べられている挿入器シース。 - 前記孔の前記実質的に均一な直径は、4から10フレンチ(4/3から10/3mm)の範囲にある、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記実質的に均一な直径は5、6又は7フレンチ(5/3、6/3又は7/3mm)である、請求項2に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記内側管は潤滑性のある材料を含んでいる、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記内側管はPTFEから成っている、請求項4に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記PTFE管は粗らされた外表面を有しており、前記外側管は、前記粗らされた表面で前記内側管に接着されている、請求項5に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記巻きは、均一な距離を開けて配置されている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記コイルは、前記シースの両端の少なくとも一方から間隔を空けて配置されている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記外側管は、熱成形可能なポリアミド材料を含んでいる、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記熱成形可能なポリアミドはナイロンを含んでいる、請求項9に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記主要管セグメントは、前記外側管の長さの少なくとも50%を占めている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記主要管セグメントは、前記外側管の長さの少なくとも75%を占めている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記シースは長さが約70から100cmとされている請求項12に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記主要管セグメントのデュロメーターは、約70から80デュロメーターの間にあり、前記非主要管セグメントのデュロメーターは、20から65の範囲にある、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記3つの非主要管セグメントは、それぞれ53から63、35から45、及び20から30の間の範囲のデュロメーターを有している、請求項14に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記主要管セグメントのデュロメーターは約75であり、前記非主要管セグメントのデュロメーターは、それぞれ約58、40及び25である、請求項15に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記主要管セグメントから順に測定された前記非主要管セグメントの長さは、それぞれ約3cm、5cm及び3.2cmである、請求項15に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記管セグメントは、それぞれ近位端と遠位端を有しており、前記管セグメントは、前記端部で隣接する管セグメントに接着されている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- 前記シースの外表面の少なくとも前記遠位端は、親水性化合物で被覆されている、請求項1に記載の挿入器シース。
- シースとカテーテルのアッセンブリにおいて、
近位端と遠位端を有するシースであって、実質的に均一な直径を有する孔が内部を貫通して長手方向に伸張している内側管と、前記内側管の周りで長手方向に配置され、相互に所定の間隙を空けて設けられた複数の巻きを備えているコイルと、前記コイルの周りで長手方向に配置され、前記巻きの間の前記間隙を通して前記内側管に接続されている外側管であって、前記遠位端に向かってデュロメーターが下がる順に並べられている複数の管セグメントを備えている外側管と、を備えているシースと、
近位端と遠位端を有するカテーテルであって、前記カテーテルは、前記内側管の孔に挿入できる寸法に作られており、更に、前記カテーテルを前記孔に挿入したとき、前記カテーテルの遠位端の少なくとも一部分が、前記シースの前記遠位端を越えて伸張する寸法に作られており、外径が、前記孔の直径より0.0005から0.004インチ(0.013から0.10mm)小さいカテーテルと、を備えているアッセンブリ。 - 前記外径は、前記孔の直径より0.001から0.003インチ(0.025から0.076mm)小さい、請求項20に記載のアッセンブリ。
- 前記シースの外側表面の少なくとも前記遠位端は、親水性化合物で被覆されている、請求項20に記載のアッセンブリ。
- 前記カテーテルの外側表面の少なくとも前記遠位端は、親水性化合物で被覆されている、請求項20に記載のアッセンブリ。
- 前記カテーテルの前記遠位端は、身体の血管にアクセスできるように整形されている、請求項20に記載のアッセンブリ。
