Description

本発明は、デジタル放送において、編成されている番組の番組情報を送出する放送装置およびその受信装置に関する。
デジタル放送方式では、放送装置が放送予定番組の編成情報を電子番組情報(ＥＰＧデータ：Ｅｌｅｃｔｒｏｎｉｃ Ｐｒｏｇｒａｍ Ｇｕｉｄｅ データ)として放送電波に多重して伝送し、受信装置ではそのＥＰＧデータを受信し、受信装置で利用可能とする放送サービスが実用化されている。このＥＰＧデータを用いれば、放送予定番組をＴＶ画面上に番組表画面として表示したり、多数の番組のうち特定条件に合致する番組を検索して表示することが可能である。例えば、特定条件として、「映画の番組のみを表示する」ことを設定した場合、映画の番組のみが抽出され、画面に表示される。
ＥＰＧデータは番組ごとの番組識別子と番組属性から構成される。番組識別子は番組ごとに一意的に与えられた識別情報であり、個々の番組を識別するために用いられる。番組属性は番組の特性や内容を表す情報であり、番組名、放送開始時刻、ジャンル、出演者、番組詳細説明などが該当する。
番組検索機能とは、視聴者が番組属性を検索キーとして指定すると、その検索キーに合致する番組を編成番組全体の中から検索し、視聴者に提示する機能である。例えば、1週間分の番組の中から「映画」番組だけを検索したり、「アメリカ合衆国大統領」が出演している番組だけを検索したりすることなどが可能である。
図７は、従来の放送装置およびその受信装置の構成を示すブロック図である。図７において、放送装置１４に含まれる番組素材記憶部１０は、放送予定の番組素材を多数蓄積している。番組情報記憶部１１は、各番組の番組情報を多数蓄積している。この番組情報は番組識別子と番組属性からなる。番組属性には番組名、チャンネル、放送開始時刻、ジャンルなどが含まれている。多重化部１３は、番組素材記憶部１０、番組情報記憶部１１のデータを多重化して、放送波として送出する。
受信装置２９に含まれる復号部２１は、放送波に多重化されたデータを抽出する。番組情報蓄積部２３は、放送波から抽出された番組情報を記憶する。入力部２４は、視聴者の操作入力を受け付ける。検索部２５は、入力部２４から入力された検索条件を検索キーとして、番組情報蓄積部２３内の番組を検索し、検索条件に合致する番組を抽出し出力する。検索結果記憶部２６は、検索部２５の出力である検索結果の番組を記憶する。出力部２８は、検索された番組を出力し視聴者に提示する。
図８は従来の受信装置の動作を示すフローチャートである。図８において、放送装置から送られた全番組は順番に検索される（Ｓ８０１）。具体的には、媒介変数ｉを順にインクリメントして番組［ｉ］を調べていく。そして、特定条件に合致した番組のみを抽出し（Ｓ８０２）、検索結果記憶部２６にその番組情報を記憶する（Ｓ８０３）。全番組の検索が行われた場合、この検索は終了する（Ｓ８０４）。
なお、この技術内容は、特開平９−８３８８８号公報に開示されている。
従来は、番組検索処理は専ら受信装置内のプロセッサにより行っていた。一般的に受信装置内のメモリやプロセッサは、その性能が高くない。そのため、多チャンネル放送において全番組から特定条件の番組検索を行うために数分程度の時間を要することがあり、視聴者への検索結果提示の応答が遅いという課題があった。
本発明は、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報を放送局から送信することにより、応答性に優れた番組検索機能を実現する放送装置と受信装置を提供する。
本発明に係る放送装置は、ＭＰＥＧ等のデジタルデータをサービスとして多数記憶し、あらかじめ決められた番組編成に従って種々のデータを多重化して送出するデジタル放送方式において、映像や音声などの番組素材を多数記憶する番組素材記憶部と、編成予定の番組に対して、番組識別子、番組名、放送開始時刻、ジャンル情報などの情報を番組情報として記録する番組情報記憶部と、あらかじめ定められた検索条件に基づいて番組情報記憶部に記憶されている番組情報を分析する番組情報分析部と、番組情報分析部により得られた番組の番組識別子を記憶する条件別番組情報記憶部と、番組編成に基づいて番組素材および番組情報および検索結果番組情報を多重化して送出する多重化部とを備え、検索結果番組情報を多重化して送出することを特徴とする。
また、本発明に係る受信装置は、デジタル放送を受信し放送波に多重化された信号を分離抽出する復号部と、放送波から抽出されあらかじめ定められた検索条件毎に条件に合致する番組の番組識別子を記憶する第１の検索結果情報記憶部と、放送波から抽出された番組識別子、番組名、放送開始時刻、ジャンル情報等の番組情報を記憶する番組情報蓄積部と、検索条件を入力する入力部と、入力部から入力された条件に合致する番組を番組情報蓄積部から検索する検索部と、検索部の出力であり検索条件に合致する番組を記憶する第２の検索結果情報記憶部と、第１の検索結果情報記憶部の内容と第２の検索結果情報記憶部の内容のどちらかを選択する選択部と、選択部で選択された番組を表示する出力部とを備え、第１の検索結果情報記憶部と第２の検索結果情報記憶部の双方を用いて番組検索を行うことを特徴とする。
本発明の放送装置およびその受信装置は、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報を放送局から送信することにより、応答性に優れた番組検索機能を実現できる。
以下、本発明に係る放送装置および受信装置について、図面を参照しながら説明する。
（実施の形態１）
図１は、本発明の実施の形態１における放送装置および受信装置の一例を示すブロック図である。図１において、放送装置１４に含まれる番組素材記憶部１０は、放送予定の番組素材を多数蓄積している。番組情報記憶部１１は、各番組の番組情報を多数蓄積している。この番組情報は番組識別子と番組属性からなる。番組属性には番組名、チャンネル、放送開始時刻、ジャンルなどが含まれている。
番組情報分析部１５は、あらかじめ定められた検索条件に基づいて番組情報記憶部１１に記憶されている番組情報を分析する。
条件別番組情報記憶部１２は、番組情報分析部１５で分析された検索条件に合致する番組の番組識別子を記憶している。多重化部１３は、番組素材記憶部１０、番組情報記憶部１１のデータを多重化して、放送波として送出する。
受信装置２９に含まれる復号部２１は、放送波に多重化されたデータを分離し抽出する。番組情報蓄積部２３は、放送波から分離抽出された番組情報を記憶する。入力部２４は、視聴者の操作入力を受け付ける。検索部２５は、入力部２４から入力された検索条件を検索キーとして、番組情報蓄積部２３内の番組を検索し、検索条件に合致する番組を抽出し出力する。第２の検索結果記憶部２６は、検索部２５の出力である検索結果の番組を記憶する。出力部２８は、検索された番組を出力し視聴者に提示する。
第１の検索結果情報記憶部２２は、放送波から抽出され、あらかじめ定められた検索条件ごとに当該条件に合致する番組の番組識別子を記憶する。照合部３０は、第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶されている番組識別子について、番組情報蓄積部２３に同一の番組識別子をもつ番組情報が含まれているかどうか調べる。選択部２７は、第１の検索結果情報記憶部２２の内容と第２の検索結果情報記憶部２６の内容のどちらかを選択して、検索結果一覧を出力し視聴者に提示する。検索条件記憶部３１は、視聴者が入力部２４から入力した検索条件を記録している。選別部３２は、復号部２１により放送波から抽出された条件別番組情報のうち、検索条件記憶部３１に記憶されている検索条件と合致するものだけを選別して出力する。なお、実際にはこれら以外に、放送を受信するための構成要件や、映像音声等の番組素材を提示出力するための構成要件、時刻を取得するための構成要素等の種々の構成要素を必要とするが、本願の主眼ではないため説明を省略する。
次に、本発明の実施の形態１における放送装置の動作について説明する。
放送予定の映像、音声、データの各素材は、あらかじめ決められた番組編成に従い、番組素材記憶部１０に蓄積されている。また、番組編成に対応した番組情報を番組情報記憶部１１に多数記録している。
図２は、番組情報の内容を例示した図である。図２において、番組情報は、番組ごとの番組識別子、チャンネル、番組の開始時刻、ジャンル、出演者、番組名の６つの情報から構成されている。
番組情報分析部１５はあらかじめ定められた検索条件ごとにその条件に合致する番組の番組識別子を分析する。そして、その分析結果から得られた番組情報を放送装置１４内の条件別番組情報記憶部１２に多数記録している。
図３は、条件別番組情報記憶部１２の内容を例示したものである。この条件別番組情報は、検索条件とその検索条件に該当する番組の番組識別子の対から構成されている。図３において、検索条件の一つであるジャンルが、洋画、ニュース、バラエティである場合の検索番組数と番組識別子が整理されている。同様に、別の検索条件である出演者が、山田、木村、トム、アリスである場合の検索番組数と番組識別子が整理されている。また、複数の検索条件（図３では、ニュースと出演者の論理積）によっても検索番組数と番組識別子が特定できる。
なお、条件別番組情報記憶部１２の内容は例示であり、これに限ったものではない。その他の番組情報に基づき特定の検索番組識別子を選択することも可能である。例えば、出演者の出演頻度をパラメータにし、特定の出演者の出演頻度が３回以上あった番組のみを抽出することもできる。
また、過去に行った分析において映画に人気があったという結果が得られたが、今回の分析ではドラマに人気が移ったという結果が得られた場合、次回からはドラマの出演者の情報を基に新たに検索条件を設定することも可能である。この新たな検索条件により番組を選択すれば、視聴者のニーズに的確に応えられる可能性が高くなる。
放送装置１４は、番組編成に従って送出すべき素材を番組素材記憶部１０から読み出すと共に、番組情報記憶部１１および条件別番組情報記憶部１２から番組情報を読み出し、これら番組素材と番組情報の全てを多重化部１３で多重化し、一つの放送波として送出する。
放送装置１４は、上述した動作を常時行う。
次に、受信装置２９の動作を説明する。
復号部２１は放送波に多重化されたデータを抽出し出力する。そして、番組編成に基づく番組情報を番組情報蓄積部２３に記憶する。この例では、図２に例示の番組情報が番組情報蓄積部２３に記憶される。また、復号部２１は番組編成に対応する条件別番組情報を出力し、選別部３２へ入力する。この例では、図３に例示の条件別番組情報が選別部３２に入力される。
視聴者の関心ある検索条件が検索条件記憶部３１に記憶されている。
図４は検索条件記憶部３１の内容を例示した図である。検索条件記憶部３１への入力は視聴者が入力部２４を用いて入力することにより行われる。
選別部３２は復号部２１から出力された条件別番組情報中の検索条件と検索条件記憶部３１に記憶されている検索条件を比較する。双方の検索条件が合致している場合、その検索条件と番組識別子の対を出力し、第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶する。
図５Ａは第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２の内容を例示した図である。
照合部３０は第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２内の番組情報と番組情報蓄積部２３内の番組情報とを照合し、矛盾がある場合は矛盾を排除した検索結果情報を内部記憶（図示せず）に記憶し、選択部２７に出力する。
矛盾の一例としては、第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶されている番組識別子が番組情報蓄積部２３に記憶されていない場合などである。この場合、その番組識別子を除いて検索結果情報を内部記憶（図示せず）に記憶し、選択部２７に出力する。
また、同じ時間帯の番組情報において、第1の検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶されている番組識別子が番組情報蓄積部２３に記憶されている番組識別子が異なっている場合は、番組識別子が更新された時間が新しい番組を選択する。このような処理により矛盾を排除している。
次に、視聴者が番組検索を指示した場合の動作を説明する。
視聴者は入力部２４を用いて、検索条件と検索指示を入力する。また、入力された検索条件は検索条件記憶部３１に記憶されるとともに、選別部３２において、放送装置１４から送られてきた条件別番組情報と比較される。また、入力された検索条件に対応する番組識別子若しくは検索条件自体が条件別番組情報に含まれる番組識別子若しくは検索条件自体と合致した場合、その合致した検索条件と番組識別子の対が、第１の検索結果として第１の検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶される。
照合部３０において、検索結果情報記憶部２２に記憶された第１の検索結果である番組識別子と番組情報蓄積部２３に含まれる番組識別子とが照合される。そして、その番組識別子に対応する他の番組情報（例えば、チャンネル、番組開始時刻、ジャンル、出演者、番組名等）が番組情報蓄積部２３から抽出される。抽出された番組情報は、照合部３０を介して選択部２７へ送られる。選択部２７において、抽出された番組情報は検索条件別に整理されて出力部２８で表示される。
図５Ｂは、同実施の形態１における第１の検索結果の表示内容例を示す図である。図５Ｂにおいて、図４および図５Ａで示された検索条件に基づいて番組が表示されている。例えば、ジャンルが洋画である番組、ジャンルがニュースである番組等が、それぞれまとめて表示されている。
図６Ａは同実施の形態１における受信装置内の選択部２７の動作フローを示す図である。図６Ａにおいて、選択部２７に第１の検索結果が記憶されている場合（Ｓ６０１で「はい」の場合）、第１の検索結果が表示される（Ｓ６０２、Ｓ６０４）。
このように、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報を放送局から送信することにより、応答性に優れた番組検索機能を実現できる。
なお、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報がない場合（Ｓ６０１で「いいえ」の場合）、受信装置２９内の検索部２５は、入力部２４から入力された検索条件を検索キーとして、番組情報蓄積部２３内の番組を検索する。そして、検索条件に適合する番組を抽出する。
図６Ｂは、検査部２５の動作フローを示す図である。図６Ｂにおいて、抽出された番組情報は第２の検索結果として検索部２５から出力され、第２の検索結果情報記憶部２６に記憶される。記憶された第２の検索結果は選択部２７へ送られる。選択部２７において、送られた第２の検索結果は検索条件別に整理されて出力部２８で表示される。図６Ｂで示す動作フローは、図６ＡのＳ６０３における処理に対応する。
このように、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報がない場合でも、第２の検索結果が別途得られるので、視聴者は検索条件に合致した番組情報を確認することが可能である。但し、第２の検索結果を得るには従来と同じ検索時間を要するので、第１の検索結果が得られることが望ましい。
本発明の実施の形態１では、番組情報は、番組ごとの番組識別子、チャンネル、放送開始時刻、ジャンル、出演者、番組名の６つ組としたが、視聴料金、キーワードなど様々な情報を扱うことができる。
また、選別部３２に送られる条件別番組情報は番組識別子だけでなく、他の番組情報が併せて送られてもよい。この場合、照合部３０において番組情報蓄積部２３から所要の番組情報を抽出する処理時間が省ける。
また、本発明の実施の形態１では検索条件記憶部３１への登録は視聴者が入力部２４を用いて操作するとしたが、その他の手段によってもよい。例えば、「視聴者の行った番組検索で用いられた検索条件の履歴を一定数保持する」、「視聴者の入力操作によらず、何らかの自動処理により設定される」などのアルゴリズムに基づいても良い。
さらに、条件別番組情報を放送装置で作成する際、視聴者のニーズが受信装置から直接送られてくれば非常に有用である。そこで、放送装置及び受信装置双方に通信部を設け、視聴者の興味がある検索条件や番組情報を送受信できれば応答性に優れた番組検索機能を実現することができる。
また、本発明の実施の形態１では、上述のように条件別番組情報を放送装置で分析、作成するとしたが、この条件別番組情報を各受信装置内で行ってもよい。但し、条件別番組情報の分析、作成は、視聴者が番組を見ていない期間に行われるようにする。受信装置内のプロセッサの負荷が大きくならないようにするためである。この場合、受信装置を使用する視聴者のニーズ、好みに応じて番組情報が選択されるので、より的確に視聴者の欲する番組を提供することが可能となる。
本発明の放送装置およびその受信装置は、検索条件に合致する番組を有する条件別番組情報を放送局から送信することにより、応答性に優れた番組検索機能を実現できる。さらに、受信装置はあらかじめ定めれた条件に合致する番組情報だけを選別して蓄積し、検索結果として表示する際に矛盾のない検索結果を表示することができ、特にデジタル放送を受信する場合に有用である。

Claims (1)

  1. デジタル放送を受信し、放送波に多重化された信号を抽出する復号部と、
    前記放送波から抽出された番組情報を記憶する番組情報蓄積部と、
    視聴者が検索条件を入力する入力部と、
    前記入力部で入力された前記検索条件を記憶する検索条件記憶部と、
    前記復号部において抽出された、あらかじめ定められた検索条件とその検索条件に対応する番組の番組識別子の対を含む条件別番組情報から、前記検索条件記憶部に記憶されている前記検索条件と合致する番組の番組識別子を抽出する選別部と、
    前記選別部で抽出された、合致する検索条件と番組の番組識別子を記憶する第１の検索結果情報記憶部と、
    前記入力部から入力された前記検索条件に合致する番組を前記番組情報蓄積部から検索する検索部と、
    前記検索部の出力であり前記検索条件に合致する番組を記憶する第２の検索結果情報記憶部と、
    前記第１の検索結果情報記憶部の内容と前記第２の検索結果情報記憶部の内容のどちらか一方を選択する選択部と、
    前記選択部で選択された番組を表示する出力部と、
    を備え、
    前記選択部は、前記入力部に前記検索条件が入力されたときに、前記入力部から入力された前記検索条件に合致する検索条件と番組の番組識別子の対が前記第１の検索結果情報記憶部に記憶されている場合は前記第１の検索結果情報記憶部の内容を選択し、前記入力部から入力された前記検索条件に合致する検索条件と番組の識別子の対が前記第１の検索結果情報記憶部に記憶されていない場合は、前記検索部に前記入力部から入力された前記検索条件に合致する番組を前記番組情報蓄積部から検索させて前記第２の検索結果情報記憶部に記憶された内容を選択する、ことを特徴とする
