Description
本形態における導光体102とは、発光装置から出射された光を入射させる端面と、導光体に入射された光を出射させる出射面となる第一の主面と、その第一の主面と向かい合う第二の主面と、を有する透光性の部材である。導光体は、メーターの指針として利用可能な針状、液晶バックライトとして利用可能な板状など種々の形状を取ることができる。
本形態における発光装置において、発光素子の周囲に、シリコーン樹脂にセリウムで付活されたイットリウム・アルミニウム・ガーネット(YAG)系蛍光体が含有された波長変換部材を有し、さらに波長変換部材を被覆するシリコーン樹脂である透光性部材を有している。なお、図示されるように、本形態の透光性部材202は、導光体102と対面する側に突出部205が形成されている。

Claims (3)
- 支持体に配置された発光素子が透光性部材により被覆されてなる発光装置と、その発光装置が配置された配線基板と、前記発光装置の出射光を所定の方向に導く導光体と、を備えており、前記導光体が、前記発光装置からの光を入射させる端面と、その端面から入射された光を出射させる第一の主面と、その第一の主面に向かい合う第二の主面と、を有する面状光源であって、
前記配線基板は、光を反射させる着色材を備えた反射面を有し、その反射面は、前記透光性部材の側面と、前記導光体の第二の主面の少なくとも一部とを覆っており、
前記透光性部材は、前記発光素子を被覆する突出部と、その突出部に連続して設けられ前記支持体の発光素子搭載面に延在する縁部とから構成され、その縁部および前記突出部が前記導光体の端面に対面されていることを特徴とする面状光源。 - 前記導光体の端面は、前記透光性部材のうち少なくとも突出部が嵌合される凹部を有する請求項1に記載の面状光源。
- 前記透光性部材は、前記第一の主面の側から反射部材に覆われている請求項1または2に記載の面状光源。
