Description
1993年8月31日付けで発行された米国特許第5239735号、及び1999年3月31日に発行された欧州特許第0904870号は、拡張したメッシュシートを製造する方法及び装置を開示している。これらは、ストリップ上に複数のスリットを所定のピッチで形成し、それによって複数のストリップ状の持上げ部と、連結部とを同時に形成する。連結部は持上げ部同士をはしご状に連結する。スリットはそれぞれストリップの長手方向に間欠的にずれて形成され、ストリップの幅方向で隣接するスリットはストリップの長手方向にずれており、ストリップをその幅方向に拡張している。
各ディスク上でツール面136及び138は平坦部144及び146と交互に位置し、互いに離れて、ローラが回転するにつれて相互作用する外周面を提供している。ディスク122及び124は半径方向ノッチ174及び176を有し、これらは図6に示すように、交互の円周方向の平坦部144及び146の反対側の側壁に、互いに対向するように形成されている。

Claims (6)
- 変形可能なストリップ(110)から拡張したメッシュシート(149)を形成するためのスリットが入れられ予備成形された鉛蓄電池の製造に使用されるシートを一工程で形成する方法であって、
縁部分内の前記ストリップ(110)の両面の少なくとも一部分に同時にスリットを入れ及び成形する工程を含み、それにより長手方向に延びる複数のワイヤ状の部分(142、154)が提供され、該部分は該ストリップの平面の外に変形した長く延びたスリット片(142,154)と、該ストリップの平面内に保持され長く延びたスリット片と交互に位置するスリット片(132)とから成り、長く延びた前記スリット片(142)は横方向で隣接するスリット片及び縁部分を切断され、前記ストリップの平面から凸形状に突出し、
それにより横方向に隣接する部分の該スリット片(154)はストリップの平面の反対側から延び、該ストリップの平面に保持された交互の該スリット片は共同して節(132)を区画し、該節は該ストリップの前記部分を横切りワイヤ状部分(142,154)の少なくとも幅を横方向に延びているものにおいて、
前記ストリップに該ストリップを中央で案内する長く延びた中央リブ(182)を形成し、ストリップの反対側の縁に等間隔で複数の孔(185)を前記スリットを入れ及び成形する工程に引き続く工程で形成し、及びスリットが入り孔があいたシートを拡張したメッシュシート(149)の製造のために拡張し、拡張の際中央を案内しつつ横方向の拡張のために回転拡張機で等間隔の孔(185)を把持する、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記変形可能なストリップは鉛又は鉛合金である請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 凸形状のスリット片(142,154)が50%長さまで変形されている請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 鉛蓄電池の製造に使用される変形可能なストリップ(110)内に長く延びた交互のスリット片を一工程で形成する装置であって、
一対の対向するローラ(116,118)を含み、各該ローラは一対のディスクとツール面(136,138)とを持ち、各該ディスクは離れた側壁を有し、該ツール面は円周方向に延び等間隔で離れ凸形状を持ち、平坦面(146,148)と交互に位置し、該ディスクは交互の円周方向の平坦面(146,148)の反対側の側壁に形成された半径方向のノッチ(174,176)を有し、
それにより対向する該ローラ(116,118)の円周面(136,138)はそれらの間を通過する変形可能な前記ストリップ(110)に相互作用し、前記ツール面の相互噛合いにより該ストリップにスリットを入れ、凸形状のセグメント(142,154)及び節を形成するものにおいて、
前記一対の対向するローラ(116,118)の一方のローラと対向する、変形したストリップ(110)を受ける平滑な外周面を持つ第3ローラ(180)を含み、
該第3ローラ又は前記対向するローラ(116,118)の一方の各端に円周方向に等間隔で形成された突起(186)が前記他方のローラの円周方向のくぼみ(188)と係合して前記変形したストリップ(110)の側縁に孔をあけ、該第3ローラ又は前記対向するローラ(116,118)の一方の中央に円周方向に形成された盛上り(184)が前記他方のローラの円周方向のくぼみ(185)と係合して前記変形したストリップ(110)の中央にリブ(182)を形成し、
それによって第3ローラ(180)及び前記対向したローラがそれらの間を通過する前記変形したストリップ上で相互作用し、変形したストリップ上に、端を中央に寄せる手段及び孔のあいた端を提供している、ことを特徴とする装置。 - 請求項1から3の何れかの方法で製造され、蓄電池の電極板として使用される鉛合金である拡張網目シート。
