Claims (11)
- 最大屈折率N1および外径2aを有する中心コア部と、この中心コア部を取り囲み最小屈折率N2および外径2bを有するディプレスト部と、このディプレスト部を取り囲み最大屈折率N3を有するクラッド部と、を順に備え、
「N1>N3>N2」なる関係を満たし、
前記クラッド部の屈折率N3を基準として、前記中心コア部の比屈折率差Δ+が3.5%以下であり、前記ディプレスト部の比屈折率差Δ−が−0.1%〜−1.1%であり、差「Δ+−Δ−」が2.2%以上であり、
前記中心コア部および前記ディプレスト部それぞれの外径の比Ra(=2a/2b)が0.2〜0.7の範囲にあり、前記中心コア部の外径が3.78μm〜4.7μmであり、
全長での平均零分散波長λ0における分散スロープが+0.018ps/nm2/km〜+0.030ps/nm2/kmの範囲にあり、
前記平均零分散波長λ0における分散スロープの波長微分値が−0.00012ps/nm3/km〜−0.00008ps/nm3/kmの範囲にあり、
前記平均零分散波長λ0において周波数ωによる伝搬定数βの4階微分値β4の絶対値が5×10−56s4/m以下であり、長手方向に沿った零分散波長の変動が全長で±0.6nm以下である
ことを特徴とする光ファイバ。
- 前記平均零分散波長λ0が1440nm〜1640nmの範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光ファイバ。
- 前記平均零分散波長λ0における実効断面積が15μm2以下であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の光ファイバ。
- 全長における偏波モード分散が0.2ps以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の光ファイバ。
- 導波する基底モード光の直交偏波間のクロストークが全長で−15dB以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の光ファイバ。
- 前記差「Δ+−Δ−」が3.1%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1〜5の何れか1項に記載の光ファイバ。
- ファイバ長が500m以下であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6の何れか1項に記載の光ファイバ。
- 請求項1〜7の何れか1項に記載の光ファイバと、波長λPのポンプ光を発生するポンプ光源と、波長λSのプローブ光を発生するプローブ光源と、を備え、
前記ポンプ光および前記プローブ光を前記光ファイバに導波させ、非線形光学現象によって新たな波長λIのアイドラ光を前記光ファイバから発生させる、
ことを特徴とする光デバイス。 - 前記光ファイバに入射する前記ポンプ光のパワーをPP-inとし、前記光ファイバに入射する前記プローブ光のパワーをPS-inとし、前記光ファイバから出射される前記アイドラ光のパワーをPI-outとしたとき、
前記ポンプ光の波長λPおよびパワーPP-inそれぞれを一定に保ち、
前記プローブ光の波長λSを変化させた際の前記アイドラ光および前記プローブ光それぞれのパワーの比r(=PI-out/PS-in)の変動率が3dB以下である前記プローブ光の波長λSの範囲が100nm以上である、
ことを特徴とする請求項8記載の光デバイス。 - 前記光ファイバに入射する前記ポンプ光のパワーをPP-inとし、前記光ファイバに入射する前記プローブ光のパワーをPS-inとし、前記光ファイバから出射される前記アイドラ光のパワーをPI-outとしたとき、
前記ポンプ光の波長λPおよびパワーPP-inそれぞれを一定に保ち、
前記ポンプ光および前記プローブ光それぞれの波長の差「λP−λS」の絶対値が5nmであるときの前記アイドラ光および前記プローブ光それぞれのパワーの比r(=PI-out/PS-in)の値に対して、前記差「λP−λS」の絶対値が50nm以上であるときの前記比rの変化率が3dB以下である、
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9に記載の光デバイス。 - 前記光ファイバから出射される前記プローブ光のパワーPS-outが、前記光ファイバに入射する前記プローブ光のパワーPS-inより大きい、ことを特徴とする請求項8〜10の何れか1項に記載の光デバイス。
