Claims (10)
- 内部で燃料を燃焼可能なキャビティと、
前記キャビティの中で可動し、前記キャビティと共に第1の燃焼室を形成する可動体と、
前記第1の燃焼室の中に第1の量の燃料を噴射するための第1の燃料噴射装置と、
補助燃焼室を形成するハウジングと、
前記補助燃焼室から前記第1の燃焼室に延びる通路と、
前記補助燃焼室と前記第1の燃焼室との間の流体の流れに対し高い抵抗となる伸長位置と、前記補助燃焼室と前記第1の燃焼室との間の流体の流れを実質的に妨害しない引込位置とを移動可能な弁と、
前記第1の燃焼室の外側から供給された空気を含む燃料空気混合物を前記補助燃焼室の中に噴射するための補助燃料・空気噴射装置と、
前記補助燃焼室の中の前記燃料空気混合物に点火して、前記第1の量の燃料に点火させるための発火した燃料空気混合物を生成する点火手段と、
前記可動体が下死点にあって、圧縮行程を開始するときには、前記弁を前記伸長位置に保持し、その後、前記補助燃焼室の中の前記燃料空気混合物に点火され、引き続いて前記弁を引込位置へ動かすまで、前記第1の燃焼室と前記補助燃焼室との間の流体の流れに対する抵抗を高くする制御装置とを有する内燃機関。 - 請求項1において、前記制御装置は、前記弁が前記伸長位置にあり、かつ、前記第1の燃焼室が最小容量になる位置に前記可動体が至る前に、前記燃料空気混合物が点火されるように前記内燃機関を制御し、さらに、引き続いて前記弁を引込位置へ動かし、それによって前記発火した燃料空気混合物を、前記通路を通って前記第1の燃焼室に出力させる、内燃機関。
- 請求項2において、前記制御装置は、前記点火手段が前記燃料空気混合物に点火した後、前記弁が前記引込位置に動く前に、前記発火した燃料空気混合物の圧力が前記第1の燃焼室の中の圧力より高くなるのに十分な期間、前記弁を前記伸長位置に維持するようになっている、内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし3のいずれかにおいて、前記弁が前記ハウジングの中に配置されている内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし4のいずれかにおいて、前記弁は、前記伸長位置において、前記通路の前記補助燃焼室側の端を塞ぐ端部を備えている、内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし5のいずれかにおいて、前記弁は、前記補助燃焼室の中央を通過するように伸びる部材を備えている内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし6のいずれかにおいて、前記第1の燃料噴射装置から噴射される燃料と、前記通路から出力される前記発火した燃料空気混合物とが、前記第1の燃焼室の中の同一の点を目標とするように、前記第1の燃料噴射装置および前記ハウジングが並べられている内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし7のいずれかにおいて、前記可動体に凹部が設けられており、前記第1の燃焼室はその凹部を含む、内燃機関。
- 請求項8において、前記同一の点は、前記凹部の上にある内燃機関。
- 請求項1ないし9のいずれかにおいて、前記補助燃料・空気噴射装置から噴射される前記燃料空気混合物のための空気を供給する空気圧縮機を有する内燃機関。
