Description
特に非炭酸食品、特に飲料を保持するために使用される従来の多層プラスチック容器に関連した問題および重要性を認識して、強化されたガスバリア特性を有し、また高密度ポリエチレンをベースとする、プラスチック容器が好適に提供される。本発明の原理により構成された容器は、従来得られるものを越えるいくつかの利点を提供する。これらの利点は、概略的には、所望の高密度ポリエチレンの使用、および容器内面の炭素被覆(炭素コーティング)により実現される。本発明の容器が望ましくは脱酸素材料をも含み、また多層構造を有することは大きな利点である。さらに、この改良された容器は、従来の処理技術(加工技術)および製造設備を使用して製造できる。

Claims (32)
- 炭素被覆でコーティングされた、成形された容器を製造するための方法であって、
開口を有する上壁部、上壁部の下側に位置した中間側壁部、および中間側壁部の下側に位置し容器を支持するために適合された基部を含む、成形された容器を用意するステップであって、前記容器は、縦方向の長さと内面と外面とを有し且つ高密度ポリエチレンから形成されると共に6から23ミルの厚みを有する、成形された第1の層をさらに有してなるステップと、
前記容器を、前記容器を収容するために設けられた中空空間内に入れるステップと、
前記容器内の空気を排出して真空にするステップと、
前記容器の内部に原料ガスをチャージするステップと、
前記原料ガスから炭素被覆を前記容器の前記第1の層の内面上に形成するステップであって、前記第1の層の全内面に最内側の非晶質の炭素被覆を形成し且つ接着し、前記炭素被覆は約0.05から10ミクロンの厚みを有し、前記容器がリサイクル可能であり、および前記炭素被覆をその厚さが前記容器の縦方向の長さに沿って変化するように形成するステップとを有してなり、
前記炭素被覆の重量を、前記容器の全重量の約1/10,000より小さくする、方法。 - 前記容器をブロー成形および押出成形のいずれか一方で用意することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 第1の層の厚さを、中間側壁部が前記上壁部および前記基部の厚さよりも薄くなるように変化させることを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1の層にバリヤ材料を付加することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 窒素がドーピングされた、非晶質の炭素被覆を形成することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 容器の前記上壁部が支持フランジを含むこと、および前記基部が内側を向いた部分を含むことの、少なくとも一方となるように成形された容器を形成することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記成形された容器に、第1の層に隣接した第2の層を設けることを含み、前記第2の層が、前記炭素被覆と前記第1の層の内面との間で前記第1の層の内面に隣接している、請求項1記載の方法。
- ポリエチレン樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂、シクロオレフィン共重合体樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリエチレンナフタレート樹脂、エチレン−(ビニルアルコール)共重合体樹脂、ポリ−4‐メチルペンテン−1樹脂、ポリ(メチルメタクリレート)樹脂、アクリロニトリル樹脂、塩化ポリビニル樹脂、塩化ポリビニリデン樹脂、スチレン−アクリロニトリル樹脂、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリアミドイミド樹脂、ポリアセタール樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂、アイオノマー樹脂、ポリスルフォン樹脂、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン樹脂、およびこれらの樹脂の2種以上の組み合わせからなる群より選ばれた樹脂からなるプラスチック材料から第2の層を形成することを含む、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記第1の層および前記第2の層の少なくとも一方を、その縦方向の長さに沿って変化する厚みを有するように形成することを含む、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記第1の層および前記第2の層の厚みを、互いに調整自在に変化させる、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記第2の層を、前記第1の層の内面に隣接すると共に0.5ミル〜5ミルの厚さを有するように設けることを含む、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記第2の層を、前記容器の全重量の0.60倍未満の重量で設けることを含む、請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記第2の層を、前記容器の全重量の0.30倍未満の重量で設けることを含む、請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記第2の層を、前記容器の全重量の0.15倍未満の重量で設けることを含む、請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記第1の層がリサイクル材料を含んでいる、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記高密度ポリエチレンが約0.940グラム/ccを超える密度を有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記高密度ポリエチレンが前記容器の全重量の少なくとも0.40倍の重量だけ設けられている、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記高密度ポリエチレンが前記容器の全重量の0.9倍より多くの重量だけ設けられている、請求項1記載の方法。
- 脂肪族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素、酸素含有炭化水素、およびこれらの2以上の混合物からなる群から選択された原料ガスを前記容器の内部にチャージすることを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記容器の内面上の前記炭素被覆の形成が高周波電源を用いて行われる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記高周波電源が、内部電極と、負の自己バイアスを生成するための絶縁された外部電極とを有している、請求項20記載の方法。
- 容器の内面上の前記炭素被覆がマイクロ波を用いて生成される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 容器の第1の層の前記内面上に前記炭素被覆を形成するステップが、前記容器を中央縦軸の回りで回転させることを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記容器内の空気を完全に排出する前に実質的に気密な密閉を生じさせるために前記容器の開口を密閉する受け取り機構を設けるステップを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 受け取り機構が前記容器の縦軸の回りで回転し、前記容器を固定する、請求項24記載の方法。
- 前記受け取り機構がガスの連通用の少なくとも2つの開口部を含んでいる、請求項24記載の方法。
- 前記受け取り機構が真空源と連通している、請求項24記載の方法。
- 生成される真空度が約10−2〜10−5Torrの範囲内である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 容器内部にチャージされる原料ガスの流量が約1〜100ml/分の範囲内である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ガスをチャージし、前記第1の層の内面上の前記炭素被覆の厚さを制御するために高周波を使用することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 窒素がドーピングされた、水素化された非晶質の炭素で構成された炭素被覆を形成するステップを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1の層がリサイクル材料を含んでいる、請求項1記載の方法。
