Claims (6)
- 少なくとも、電子放出源を有するカソード電極と蛍光体を有する蛍光板電極とが真空中で対向配置された発光装置において、
上記カソード電極に電圧を印加した状態で、上記カソード電極側のインピーダンスを、上記電子放出源における電界放出の電流密度が第1の設定値以上となる低インピーダンス状態から第2の設定値以下となる高インピーダンス状態に周期的に変換するインピーダンス変換手段を備えたことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 上記第1の設定値を、上記蛍光体での発光が飽和状態に達する電流密度とすることを特徴とする請求項1記載の発光装置。
- 上記第2の設定値を、カソード電流が略零になる電流密度とすることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の発光装置。
- 上記インピーダンス変換手段を、パルス信号によって駆動されるスイッチング素子を用いて構成し、
上記スイッチング素子により上記カソード電極側の抵抗値を切換えて低インピーダンス状態から高インピーダンス状態に変換することを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか一に記載の発光装置。 - 上記カソード電極側のインピーダンスを、60Hz以上の繰返し周期で低インピーダンス状態にすることを特徴とする請求項1〜4の何れか一に記載の発光装置。
- 上記カソード電極側を低インピーダンス状態にする周期を、上記カソード電極側を低インピーダンス状態にする期間の少なくとも10倍以上とすることを特徴とする請求項1〜5の何れか一に記載の発光装置。
