Description
洗浄に対する上記の従来のアプローチとは対照的なのは、気体の噴流または流れを液体槽に強制的に適用するという概念である。1981年11月17日に発行されたCoyleの米国特許第4,300,924号は、排気ガスをまっすぐなパイプを通してタンクの水中に通し、排気ガスが水中を泡になって通過するようにすることによって、ディーゼルエンジンの排気を洗浄する装置を記載する。Coyleの装置は、排気ガスの水頭圧(head of the exhaust gases)がパイプの平らな切断端の外へそれらを強制的に押し出すのに十分である場合に作動する。
Claims (20)
- 排気ガスから粒子状および気体状の汚染物質を低減するための洗浄装置であって、
同軸入れ子状に構成された、排気ガスが互いに反対方向に通過する熱導管および出口導管(co−axial nested hot and outlet conduits)と、
前記熱導管と前記出口導管との連結部分に設けられた、洗浄液を溜めるためのタンクと、
混合羽根の1つ以上のセットと、
エストエリミネーター羽根の1つ以上のセットとを備え、
前記熱導管の端部および前記出口導管の端部は、排気ガスが前記連結部を通じて前記熱導管から前記出口導管へと流れる際に前記洗浄液中を完全に通過するように、前記タンク内の洗浄液中に浸されており、
前記混合羽根は、前記出口導管内における前記洗浄液の液面下の位置に設けられ、前記洗浄液中を通過する前記排気ガスの流れを乱して微小の泡を発生させ、
前記ミストエリミネーター羽根は、前記洗浄液を通過した後の排気ガスから液およびミストを除去するように、前記出口導管内における前記混合羽根よりも下流の位置に設けられる、洗浄装置。 - 前記熱導管の端部および前記出口導管の端部は、当該各端部から離れた位置に、前記熱導管の外壁が出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁を有する、請求項1に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁は、前記出口導管を介して流れる排気ガスを暖める熱交換機である、請求項2に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記混合羽根の各セットは、隣接する羽根から離れ、横方向にずらして配置された薄い、平坦な、細長い羽根の傾斜した配列を含む、請求項1に記載の洗浄装置。
- 混合羽根の各セットは、放射状外向きに傾いている、請求項4に記載の洗浄装置。
- ミストエリミネーター羽根の各セットは、隣接する羽根から離れ、横方向にずらして配置された薄い、平坦な、細長い羽根の傾斜した配列を含む、請求項1に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記ミストエリミネーター羽根は、放射状に内向きに傾いている、請求項6に記載の洗浄装置。
- 内部に入れ子になっておりかつ前記取り囲む熱導管と効果的に相互連結している中央入口導管を含む、請求項1に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記洗浄液を前記排気ガス中に噴霧するためのスプレーが、前記混合羽根のセットと前記ミストエリミネーター羽根のセットとの間に配置されている、請求項4に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記熱交換機は、前記排気ガスを十分に再加熱し、露点を少なくとも30℃越えるまで前記排気ガスの温度を上昇させる、請求項3に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁は、環状の断面を有する、請求項4に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁は、多葉断面を有する、請求項4に記載の洗浄装置。
- 前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁は、ほぼ星形である、請求項12に記載の洗浄装置
- 作動背圧が6インチ水頭未満である、請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の洗浄装置。
- 排気ガス流を洗浄して、粒子状および気体状の汚染物質を低減させ、前記排気ガスの温度を低減させるための方法であって、
(a)供給源からの排気ガスを細長い入口導管を通して通過させる工程と;
(b)前記入口導管を取り囲む熱導管を通して逆流方向に前記排気ガスを通過させる工程と;
(c)前記排気ガスを液槽を通して通過させて、前記ガスを冷却し、そして粒子状の物質を保持する工程と;
(d)前記熱導管を取り囲み、かつ少なくとも部分的に前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となっている当該出口導管中を逆流方向に前記排気ガスを通過させる工程と;
(e)前記ガス流の方向を変更し、前記液槽内に渦を生じさせるように適合させた混合羽根の1つ以上のセットに前記排気ガスを通過させることにより、前記ガス流内に繊細な泡を形成し飛沫同伴する工程と;
(f)前記排気ガスを、ミストエリミネーター羽根の1つ以上のセットを通して通過させて、泡または水分を実質的に排除する工程と;
(g)前記排気ガスを、前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁の加熱した表面に沿って通過させて、前記ガスの温度を露点よりも高くまで上昇させる工程と;
(h)前記洗浄機から前記排気ガスを排気する工程と、
を包含する、方法。 - 工程(e)において、前記排気ガスを沈められた混合羽根の傾いた配列を通過させることによって生成した掻き回され渦巻かれた渦によって、排気ガスの小さな泡が形成される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 工程(e)の後、前記排気ガスおよび飛沫同伴した泡を、噴霧通路を通して通過させて、前記泡を消散させる工程を包含する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 工程(f)において、前記ミストエリミネーター羽根は、前記ガス流と接触して、そこから水分を取り除き、前記はねからの水分を再捕捉するガス流の速度が増大することを防止するように離して配置される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 工程(g)において、前記排気ガスが前記出口導管において、前記熱導管内の排気ガスから前記熱導管の外壁が前記出口導管の内壁となる共通の壁を介して伝達される熱によって加熱される、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記排気ガスの温度は、露点よりも少なくとも30℃上昇している、請求項19に記載の方法。
