Description
(a)生分解性発泡剤の加熱された水溶液の流れを生成し、
(b)前記の流れの少なくとも一部を、周囲の空気の流れを引込むベンチュリ作用をつくりだす低い圧力を生成し得る流路に通過させ、
(c)空気の流れを加熱された水溶液の流れと混合し、75℃〜100℃の間の温度の、容量比で60〜75%の生分解性発泡剤の水溶液と40〜25%の空気とからなる泡の流れを生じさせ、そして
(d)泡の流れを被処理面に対して放出する植物の防除方法が提供される。
加熱された水溶液の流れを供給するための手段と、
空気の流れを供給するための手段と、
空気と溶液との流れを混合して泡を発生させる混合室と、
混合室と拡開する出口シュラウドとの間に接続された細長な給送路を含む装置によって実 施することができる。
図に示すように、この装置は好ましくはトラック等の車両に搭載され、発泡性水溶液を供給するタンク1、タンク1からの溶液を加熱するためのボイラ2、および空気を供給して溶液を発泡させるためのブロア3を備えている。ボイラ2はタンクに隣接して位置され、溶液は発電機5からの電力で駆動されるポンプ4によってボイラ2に供給される。一つの好ましい具体例では、ボイラ2は液体燃料を燃焼させるバーナ(図示せず)を有し、ポンプ4は一段式の遠心ポンプである。またポンプは小型の石油エンジンで直接駆動してもよい。
・ 最良の結果を得るためには泡の構造および温度が重要である。水分および空気混入の度合いによって影響される構造又は粘度の度合いがもっとも重要である。タンク内で混合され次いで加熱室中に送られる低温の発泡性溶液がもっとも正確な再現性を与えた。発泡剤の導入のために噴射又はベンチュリ装置を用いると、給送ライン中に蓄積する発泡剤および給送室中に残る残渣による混合の正確さが可変なものとなった。90〜95℃の範囲の温度が最適であることが判明した。
・ 高温の溶液の給送の直前に混合室におくられる低圧、大容量の空気が最良の結果を与えた。加圧空気を用いても良いが、コンプレッサのコストが増大し空気の膨張による泡の冷却が増大する欠点を伴う。
・ 出口の圧力を無視できるようにすることも重要であることが発見され、出口に制限的なノズルを用いることは避けなければならない。
・ 泡が短い給送路を通してのみ流れるように高温の発泡性溶液を処理ランスで空気混合することが最良でもっとも合理的かつ経済的な結果を与えることが発見された
Claims (13)
- 温度が75℃ないし100℃の間にあり、容量比で60%ないし75%の生分解性発泡剤の水溶液と、40%ないし25%の空気とからなる泡を生成し、そしてこの発泡剤の流れを被処理表面に対して与える工程を含む植物の防除方法。
- 前記水溶液を加熱しかつ空気の流れを水溶液の流れと混合することにより泡の流れを発生させ、これを最大で15psiの低圧で放出することを特徴とする請求項1記載の植物の防除方法。
- 前記水溶液が水に対して約0.4%の希釈率で混合されたアルキルポリグリコシドであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の植物の防除方法。
- (a)生分解性発泡剤の加熱された水溶液の流れを生成し、
(b)前記の流れの少なくとも一部を、周囲の空気の流れを引込むベンチュリ作用をつくりだす低い圧力を生成し得る流路に通過させ、
(c)空気の流れを加熱された水溶液の流れと混合して泡の流れを生じさせることにより泡の流れを発生させる請求項1記載の植物の防除方法。 - 前記流路が溶液の噴射流を発生させる請求項4記載の植物の防除方法。
- 溶液をボイラを通して圧送し、溶液の全体の流れを周囲の空気の流れを引込むベンチュリ作用をつくりだす低い圧力を生成し得る流路を通して混合室に通過させ、ここで空気を溶液と混合して泡を発生させ、次いでこれを拡開するシュラウドを通して放出する前に細長な給送通路に通過させる請求項1記載の植物の防除方法。
- 前記水溶液が水に対して約0.4%の希釈率で混合されたアルキルポリグリコシドであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の植物の防除方法。
- (a)生分解性発泡剤の加熱された水溶液の流れを生成し、
(b)前記の流れの少なくとも一部を、周囲の空気の流れを引込むベンチュリ作用をつくりだす低い圧力を生成し得る流路に通過させ、
(c)空気の流れを加熱された水溶液の流れと混合して泡の流れを生じさせることにより泡の流れを発生させる請求項2記載の植物の防除方法。 - (a)生分解性発泡剤の加熱された水溶液の流れを生成し、
(b)前記の流れの少なくとも一部を、周囲の空気の流れを引込むベンチュリ作用をつくりだす低い圧力を生成し得る流路に通過させ、
