Description
そして、前記加熱体には、ヒーター(熱源)により加熱された熱棒や、電圧を印加し、ジュール熱で発熱させる抵抗発熱体からなる溶着チップなど様々なタイプがある。
本発明は、後者の溶着チップとそれを用いた溶着装置に関するもので、このうち溶着チップとしては、次のような構成のものが開示されている。
1.特許文献1にあっては、膨大部(カシメ部)と被固定物とは一体結合されていないため、被固定物が回転したりガタつきが生じたりする場合がある。
2.特許文献1にあっては、溶着ボスを溶融して押し潰した時に、溶着チップの先端と被固定物との隙間から、溶融した樹脂が外にはみ出し、これが溶着チップの側面に付着してチップの離脱を容易に行うことが出来なかったり、無理して離脱させることにより溶着部が白化したり、クラックが発生したりする場合がある。
3.特許文献1にあっては、溶着チップの当接面が半円球状のお椀形であるため、溶着チップの熱が溶着ボスの中心部まで伝わらず、溶融が充分に行われない。従って、溶融により成形された膨大部の樹脂の状態が不均一になり強度的にバラツキが出る。
本発明は、溶着チップにおいて、上記した1〜3の課題の解決を図るのが目的である。
このように、溶着チップの当接面に先端が鋭利な突起部を設けたことにより、溶着チップが発熱し溶着ボスを溶融しながら押しつけた時、突起部が被固定物を溶融しながら食い込むことができる。従って、溶着ボスの溶融樹脂と被固定物の溶融樹脂が凹部の中で融合することが出来る。従って融合部が固化することにより一体になった結合部を得ることが出来る。
このように、突起部が被固定物へ食い込む深さを定める機能を持つ熱溶着装置を用いることにより、突起部の内側では溶着ボスと被固定物の溶融した樹脂同士が融合し、突起部より外側へはみ出た余剰の樹脂は樹脂溜り内に移行してここに収容され、その結果、溶着チップの側面には回り込まない。従って、溶着チップの側面に溶融した樹脂が付着することがないため、溶着チップを容易に離脱できる。
a.当接面における凹部の周縁に成形品へ食い込む為の当接面より突き出た突起部(エッジ)を形成したことで、溶着ボスの溶融に併せて、突起部が被固定物の表面に突き刺さり、この表面の一部も溶融することができるため、溶着ボスと被固定物は、その相互の樹脂の溶融部分が融合し、その状態で固化させて溶着するので、双方の密着性が高まり安定した固定となる。
b.溶着チップにおける突起部の外側にはみ出た溶融樹脂を、当接面と被固定物との間に生じた所謂樹脂溜りにためることで、チップの側面に溶融樹脂が付着することなく、チップを離す時綺麗に、かつスムーズに離すことが出来る。
c.溶着チップの当接面に溶着ボスの先端が収まる底面段部を形成したことにより、熱が溶着ボスの中心まで素早く伝わり、偏りなく十分にボスを短時間で溶融することができる。その為、それが固化したカシメ部の形成が均一になり、その結果溶着強度が向上すると共に、カシメ作業の能率化を図ることができる。
次に、本発明の実施例を各図に基づいて詳細に説明する。
まず、溶着チップについて図1(a)〜(d)を用いて説明する。図1(a)は溶着チップの側面図、図1(b)は溶着チップの正面図、図1(c)は溶着チップの平面図、図1(d)は(c)のA−A部断面図である。
溶着チップ21の当接面22の輪郭部には、溶着時に被固定物51の表面に食い込んでこの食い込んだ部分を溶融するための突起部23が設けてある。また、溶着ボス62の溶融終了後、溶着チップ21を冷却するために冷却エアー31を吹きかけ、そのエアーを逃すためのスリット26が溶着チップ21の胴体部に2箇所対称位置に設けてある。
山形の突起部23の外側の稜線は、小径部21bの側面まで続き、いわゆる縁取りを行った形状となっていて、ここに樹脂溜り24を得ている。突起部23の内側はお椀形にへこんだ凹部25が形成されており、この凹部25は溶着ボス62を溶融してカシメ部64を形成する前記当接面22となっている。
なお、本実施例では突起部23の形状をリング状としたが、リング状である輪が分断されて複数からなる集合的な突起部23でも構わない。
熱溶着装置1の降下位置は事前に設定してあり、その降下位置は突起部23が被固定物51の表面に食い込み、更に樹脂溜り24と被固定物51の表面との間に空隙が出来る値を選ぶ。本実施例では図4に示す溶着チップ21の要部拡大図に示すように、突起部23の高さHが0.4mmであるので、食い込み値Tを0.1〜0.2mmとし、その位置まで熱溶着装置1が下降するように制御装置(図示せず)を予め設定しておいた。
比較例として従来の熱溶着装置について説明する。成形品61と被固定物51は実施例1と同一である。図9は従来のボス溶着部の端面図である。従来の熱溶着装置1に用いた溶着チップ21の当接面22の形状はお椀形であり、被固定物51の表面と接する当接面22の周囲の部分22aはフラットなかたちになっている。樹脂の溶融温度に達すると溶着ボス62は押し圧力で潰されると共に、溶融部63としてお椀形の当接面22全体に充満される。但し、被固定物51の表面と接する周囲の部分22aは、被固定物51と接するだけで、その表面に突き刺さった状態とはなっていない。この時、お椀形のチップ当接面22の周面の部分22aと被固定物51との隙間から、溶融した溶着ボス62側の樹脂52がはみ出し、この樹脂52は図10に示すように溶着チップ21の側面に付着し、溶着装置1の冷却が終了し、上昇させて離脱させようとしてもスムーズに離れず、また、無理に離脱させると樹脂52の部分にクラック等が発生して見栄えが悪くなった。また、溶融した固定物61は被固定物51と融合していないため、被固定物51が回転したり、ガタツキが生じたりしていた。又、溶着強度も本発明溶着チップ21を使用してカシメ止めした時に比較して弱い。

Claims (2)
- 熱可塑性樹脂成形品側に形成された溶着ボスを熱可塑性樹脂製被固定物側に形成された固定孔に通し、この固定孔から突き出た溶着ボスの先端側に溶着チップの先端面に形成した凹状の当接面を押し当てて溶着ボスが固定孔から突き出た部分を加熱溶融して固定孔の直径より大きい直径を持つカシメ部を形成することにより、成形品に被固定物を固定する際に用いられる溶着チップにおいて、前記当接面の輪郭部を断面山形に形成してこの山形を突起部となし、且つこの突起部の外周に沿って形成された稜線の外側に樹脂溜りを形成したことを特徴とする溶着チップ。
- 請求項1記載の溶着チップを取り付けた昇降部の降下位置を、溶着チップが下降した時にその突起部が被固定物の表面に食い込む位置に設定し、溶着チップを溶着ボスの先端に押し当てて下降させることにより突起部を被固定物の表面に喰い込ませ、この食い込みの作用で被固定物側の一部を溶融し、この溶融した樹脂のうち、突起部の内側の樹脂は溶着ボス側の溶融した樹脂と融合させ、突起部の外側の溶融した樹脂は樹脂溜り内に移動させて収容するように構成したことを特徴とする熱溶着装置。
