Description

However, even if the thickness of the coating portion is gradually reduced toward the end portion (providing a material gradually changing region), it is unlikely that the parting line as described above disappears at the end portion. Therefore, even if this technique is applied and the thickness of the
[0007]
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a weather strip capable of preventing the occurrence of parting lines due to material differences and improving the appearance quality. There is.
[0008]
[Means for solving the problems and effects thereof]
In the following, each means suitable for solving the above-described object will be described in terms of items. In addition, the effect etc. peculiar to the means to respond | correspond as needed are added.
[0009]
Means 1. A trim part that is formed in a substantially U-shaped cross section by a vehicle outer side wall part and a vehicle inner side wall part formed of a solid elastic material, and a connecting part that connects both side wall parts, and is mounted on the periphery of the door opening of the vehicle,
By being formed of a sponge elastic material and connected to the vehicle outer side wall portion at the first connecting portion and connected to the second connecting portion located on the front end side of the vehicle outer side wall portion from the first connecting portion. A weather strip that is hollow and has a seal portion that presses against the periphery of the door when the door is closed,
A first projecting portion configured to extend from the vehicle outer side wall portion toward the vehicle outer side in the first connecting portion, and to be connected to the extended tip portion;
The second connecting portion includes a second projecting portion configured to extend from the vehicle outer side wall portion toward the vehicle outer side, and to be configured so that the seal portion is connected to the extended tip portion.
A coating portion is provided on the outer surface of the seal portion and at least the second protrusion,
The seal portion is configured to have a substantially D-shaped cross section, and the entire seal portion is positioned closer to the first protrusion than the position of the second protrusion with respect to the direction along the vehicle outer side wall. And
In the second connecting portion, an outer surface of the second projecting portion is connected to a tip portion of the outer side wall portion,
In the second projecting portion, a sponge layer extending from the seal portion is provided between the outer surface of the second projecting portion and the coating portion, and the sponge layer extends to the tip of the vehicle outer side wall portion. And the thickness is 0.4 mm or more and is substantially uniform over the entire area,
And the weather strip characterized by comprising the said film | membrane part by the solid rubber layer.
[0010]
According to the said means 1, the sponge layer extended from the seal part is provided in the outer surface side of the 2nd protrusion part. For this reason, a parting line or a step due to a material difference does not occur at the boundary between the tip of the second protrusion and the seal portion, and the appearance quality can be improved. As a result, in order to make the above-mentioned parting lines and steps inconspicuous, it is not necessary to perform surface treatment on the surface of the seal part after forming the weather strip, thereby reducing production costs and simplifying the manufacturing process. it can. In addition, in the connecting portion between the seal portion and the projecting portion, the proportion of the projecting portion does not decrease compared to the case where the thickness of the seal portion is gradually reduced toward the end portion. Thus, the effect of providing the second protrusion is maintained.
In addition, the sponge layer extending from the seal portion reaches the vehicle outer side wall portion. That is, the outer surface of the protrusion is covered with the sponge layer. For this reason, the boundary portion between the seal portion and the protruding portion, that is, the parting line, the step, or the like does not appear on the design surface (surface), and the effect of improving the appearance quality is more certain.
In addition, since the sponge layer reaches the tip of the vehicle outer side wall, the boundary part (parting line, step, etc.) between the seal part and the vehicle outer side wall does not appear on the design surface, and the appearance quality is further improved. Can be achieved.
Moreover, the thickness of the sponge layer is 0.4 mm or more. When the thickness of the sponge layer is less than 0.4 mm, the material characteristics of the sponge elastic material are difficult to appear, so that the effect of providing the sponge layer becomes dilute. As a result, there is a possibility that the above problems cannot be solved. If the sponge layer is too thick, as described in the above effect, the proportion of the projecting portion in the joint portion between the seal portion and the projecting portion decreases, so that the predetermined rigidity in the joint portion can be maintained. It becomes more difficult. Therefore, the thickness of the sponge layer is preferably 0.4 mm or more and 0.6 mm or less.
In addition, since the thickness of the sponge layer is substantially uniform over the entire region, it is difficult to cause a material difference in each part of the sponge layer, and the appearance quality can be further improved.
[0011]
[0012]
According to the above means 2, the thickness of the coating part is 0.4 mm or less. When the thickness of the coating portion is larger than 0.4 mm, the coating portion can absorb the difference in material between the sealing portion and the protruding portion due to the thickness, and therefore the coating portion is interposed between the sealing portion and the protruding portion. However, the parting line and the level difference are not generated, but the manufacturing is complicated (applying 2 to several times), and when the thickness of the film part is increased, the flexibility of the seal part is lost. The thickness of the coating is preferably as thin as possible. Therefore, the thickness of the coating part may be less than 0.1 mm, for example. However, since a certain amount of thickness must be provided in order to maintain the non-abrasion property and durability of the seal portion, the thickness of the coating portion is preferably 0.1 mm or more and 0.4 mm or less.
[0013]
Means 3 . The weather strip according to means 1 or 2 , wherein a thickness at a tip portion of the protruding portion is at least half of a thickness of a seal portion at a boundary portion with the tip portion.
[0014]
According to the above means 3 , the thickness at the tip of the protrusion is at least half the thickness of the seal at the boundary with the tip. That is, “the thickness of the sponge layer is less than half the thickness of the seal portion at the boundary portion between the tip portion of the protrusion and the seal portion”. For this reason, the rigidity of the projecting portion can be secured, and as a result, the occurrence of problems such as the falling of the seal portion can be more reliably prevented. In order to ensure the rigidity of the protrusion more reliably, the thickness of the tip of the protrusion is at least two-thirds of the thickness of the seal portion at the boundary with the tip, that is, the tip of the protrusion. It is preferable that the thickness of the sponge layer is less than one third of the thickness of the seal portion at the boundary portion at the boundary portion between the portion and the seal portion.
