Description
【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、自動車や産業用車両に取り付けることができるグレージングパネル(窓用パネル)、より具体的に言えば積層グレージングパネルとして、例えばフロントガラスとして働く、グレージングパネルの製造に適したガラス板に関する。

本発明が意図する積層グレージングパネルは、例えば2枚のガラス板と少なくとも1枚の「イオノマー樹脂」の透明シートからなる。

「イオノマー樹脂」という表現は、押出し成形することができる樹脂であり、エチレン/カルボン酸コポリマー又はα−オレフィン/カルボン酸コポリマーを含有し、これらのコポリマーがイオン反応によって架橋されている樹脂である。このタイプの樹脂は、詳しくはヨーロッパ特許第483087号、同第191088号、米国特許第4619973号、同第4732944号及び同第4906703号各明細書に記載されており、本発明による積層ガラスを製造するのに適したイオノマー樹脂の選定についてはこれらが参照される。イオノマー樹脂としては、特に、イオン反応により架橋されそしてエチレン、スチレン又はプロピレンモノマーとアクリル酸、メタクリル酸又は無水マレイン酸モノマーとの組み合わせにより得られるコポリマーを基礎材料とする樹脂を使用することが可能である。本発明による積層グレージングパネルで使用されるイオノマー樹脂は、一般に、イオン反応により架橋されたエチレン(又はα−オレフィン)/アクリル酸(又はメタクリル酸)コポリマーを基礎材料とする。商業的に入手できるイオノマー樹脂は一般に、場合により部分的に中和された、上述の酸コポリマー、あるいはこれらの酸コポリマーの金属又はアミン塩(特に、ナトリウム又は亜鉛イオノマーが見られる)を含有している。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
この種の用途に使用されるグレージングパネルは、それらの光透過率に関係する法定の要件を満たさなくてはならない。例えば、これらのグレージングパネルはA光源下で少なくとも70%に等しい全光透過率(TLA )を示さなくてはならない。

自動車のうちのガラスをはめられた領域は現在では非常に広く、そして顧客の快適性に関しての要求は常に増加しており、これらの自動車の製造業者は日射にさらされる車内の人が経験する暑さの感覚を減らすのを可能にするあらゆる手段を探し求めている。ところが、同時に、自動車製造業者は全てのガラス製取り付け部品をできる限り軽くしようとしている。

太陽エネルギーのスペクトルのうちの可視部分の光の透過率を高く維持しながら太陽エネルギーの残りをなおもできる限り吸収するために、ガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスの組成中に鉄を混入することが知られている。鉄はガラス中に、酸化第二鉄(Fe2 O3 )と酸化第一鉄(FeO)の両方の形で存在する。Fe2 O3 の存在は、紫外線とスペクトルの可視部分のうちの短波長の光線を吸収するのを可能にし、その一方、FeOの存在は、近赤外線と可視範囲のうちの長波長に相当する光線を吸収するのを可能にする。それらの二つの酸化形態の鉄の含有量を増加させると可視スペクトルの両端の光線の吸収が増加するとは言うものの、これは光の透過率に悪影響を与える。

鉄酸化物の放射線吸収能力を最もよく利用しながら、それでいて可能な最高の光透過率を維持するため、現在までに様々な解決策が提案されている。

例えば、ヨーロッパ特許第297404号明細書には、Fe2 O3 の形で表した全鉄含有量が0.45〜0.65%であるシリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスが記載されている。これらのガラスは、全鉄分の少なくとも35%、好ましくは少なくとも50%がFeOの形であるような条件下で調製される。このようにして得られたFeO含有量の増加は、ガラスの赤外線の吸収の増加を可能とし、そして全エネルギー透過率(TE )を低下させる。ところが、ガラスが非常に還元性の条件下でイオウの存在下に製造される場合には、イオウと第二鉄との反応の結果として発色団が生成するため、ガラスはこはく色に着色する。従って、これを避けるためには、チャージ(charge)から硫酸塩を除去することが必要であり、そしてガラス中のイオウ含有量は決してゼロにはならないので、第二鉄の割合を低く保持するのを保証することが必要であって、これは全鉄含有量を厳しく制限するということになる。その結果、これらのガラスが紫外線を吸収する能力は不十分になる。

これらの目的は、Fe2 O3 の形で表される全鉄分を重量百分率で表して1〜2.5%含有し、FeOの形の第一鉄の重量含有量が0.3〜1%であるシリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスであって、1〜1.9mmの厚さについて55%未満、好ましくは50%未満の全エネルギー透過率(TE )を示すガラスから製作されているガラス板により達成される。

好ましくは、このガラス板は、1〜1.9mmの厚さについて、A光源下で少なくとも70%に等しい全光透過率を示す。

やはり好ましくは、このガラス板は、1〜1.9mmの厚さについて、25%未満の紫外線透過率を示す。

光透過率とエネルギー透過率の値は、パリー・ムーン・マス2(Parry Moon Mass 2)の方法を使って測定したものであり、紫外線の透過率はISO 9050の標準規格により定められた方法を使って測定された。

本発明によるこのように製造されたガラス板は、ガラスの厚みが1.9mm未満である自動車グレージングパネルとして使用するのに必要とされる透過率特性TE 及びTL を示す。

本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスは、カレットが加えられることもある標準的なバッチ材料を使って、フロートガラス技術において用いられる通常の炉で調製される。これらのガラスの溶融と清澄は、電流を通じることによりガラスを加熱する電極を随意に備えた、火入れされた炉で行われる。ガラスの酸化−還元度は、酸化剤例えば硫酸ナトリウムの如きものと還元剤例えばコークスの如きものを用いて制御される。チャージに混入される硫酸ナトリウムの量は、このチャージを融解させる炉の特性を考慮に入れて、ガラス中のSO3 含有量が一般に0.08〜0.35%であるような量である。硫酸ナトリウムに関係する、還元剤の量は、ガラスを調製するための炉の特性をやはり考慮に入れて、ガラスの酸化−還元度が正確な範囲内に維持されるように計算される。これらの範囲は、Fe2 O3 の形で表した全鉄分の量に対するFeOの形で表した第一鉄の量の比の極値により定められる。本発明によれば、このFeO/Fe2 O3 比は25〜45%である。

本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスは更に、CoO、Cr2 O3 、Se、TiO2 、MnO、NiO、CuO成分のうちの1種以上を最高でおおよそ0.04%まで含有してもよい。これらの成分は、使用されるガラス生成用バッチ材料に含有されている不純物に由来することがあり、及び/又はガラス生成用材料と混合されるガラスカレットに由来することがあり、それらはまた、例えば特定の着色を行うために、チャージに意図的に加えられることもある。

上述の透過率特性とは別に、本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスは一般に青−緑色に薄く着色している。C光源の下でのそれらの主波長は一般に490〜510nmである。

特に、この好ましい態様によれば、本発明によるガラス板は、Fe2 O3 の形で表される全鉄分を重量百分率で表して1.5〜2.5%含有し、FeOの形の第一鉄の重量含有量が0.5〜1%である、シリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスから有利に製造される。

こうして定義されたガラスからなるガラス板は、1〜1.9mmの厚さについて、更に向上した全エネルギー透過率(TE )、すなわち一層低い透過率を示す。

後者の態様では、本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに用いられるガラスは、より好ましい態様において、Fe2 O3 の形で表した全鉄含有量の少なくとも35%に相当する含有量のFeOを含有する。

特に、このより好ましい態様では、本発明によるガラス板は、Fe2 O3 の形で表した全鉄分を重量百分率で表して1.5〜2.5%含有し、FeOの形での第一鉄の重量含有量が0.5〜1%である、シリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスから有利に製造される。

本発明のこの態様によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスは、好ましくは、下記の成分を重量百分率で表して下記に掲げる範囲により定められる含有量で含有しているシリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスである。

一般に、本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスは、最高で1.5重量%までで好ましくは少なくとも0.2重量%のCeO2 及び/又は200〜4000ppmのTiO2 を含有することができ、これらは紫外線の吸収にとって有利である。

本発明の利点をより十分に評価するために、本発明によるガラス板を製造するのに使用されるガラスの例を下記に示す。

TLA とTE の測定は、ガラスの全厚1mmと1.6mmについて、すなわち厚さがそれぞれ0.5mmと0.8mmの2枚のガラスを含む積層グレージングパネルに相当するものについて、4種類のガラスで行う。

これらのガラスは、フロートガラスの技術を利用して連続の帯にすることができる。本発明によるガラス板は、厚さが1mm未満の帯を切断して得られる。これらのガラス板は、特に、自動車に取り付けようとする積層グレージングパネルを製造するのに用いられる。これらの積層グレージングパネルは、例えば2枚のガラス板と少なくとも1枚の中間イオノマー樹脂からなる。本発明によれば、グレージングパネルのガラスの厚み、すなわちグレージングパネルを構成しているガラス板の厚さの合計は、1mmとおおよそ1.9mmの間である。

こうして製造された本発明によるグレージングパネルは、紫外線の良好な吸収と良好な熱的快適性を保証し、そしてそれらは車両のガラス製取り付け部品の重量を有意に減らすのを可能にする。

他のグレージングパネルと同じように、本発明によるガラスから得られたグレージングパネルには、前もって表面処理を施してもよい。
Claims (11)
- Fe2 O3 の形で表される全鉄分を重量百分率で表して1〜2.5%含有し、FeOの重量含有量が0.3〜1%であり、且つFeOの含有量がFe 2 O 3 の形で表される全鉄分含有量の35%より多いシリカ−ソーダ−石灰ガラスから製作されていて、当該ガラスが1〜1.9mmの厚さについて50%未満の全エネルギー透過率(TE )を示し、且つA光源下で70%以上の全光透過率を示すガラス板。
- 前記ガラスが、1〜1.9mmの厚さについて、25%未満の紫外線透過率を示すことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のガラス板。
- CeO2 を0.2〜1.5%及び/又はTiO2 を200〜4000ppm含有しているガラスから製作されていることを特徴とする、請求項1から6までのいずれか一つに記載のガラス板。
- CoOを15〜100ppm含有しているガラスから製作されていることを特徴とする、請求項1から7までのいずれか一つに記載のガラス板。
- CoOを15〜50ppm含有しているガラスから製作されていることを特徴とする、請求項1から7までのいずれか一つに記載のガラス板。
- 有機材料の中間シートにより分離されている、請求項1から9までのいずれか一つで定められる化学組成のガラスから製作された2枚のガラス板からなること、当該ガラスの厚さが1mmと1.9mmの間であることを特徴とするグレージングパネル。
- 前記中間シートが少なくとも1種のイオノマー樹脂を含むことを特徴とする、請求項10記載のグレージングパネル。
