Claims (8)
- 複数のゲートラインと複数のデータラインの交差部毎に液晶セルが形成された液晶パネルと、
外部から供給された複合映像信号からテレビ映像信号を分離して極性反転信号に基づいてテレビ映像信号の極性を制御する映像信号処理部と、
前記映像信号処理部から供給された前記テレビ映像信号を前記データラインに供給するためのデータドライバーと、
ゲート制御信号に応答して前記ゲートラインを駆動するためのゲートドライバーと、
1水平期間において複数のゲートラインを時分割して順次駆動するか、あるいは1水平期間において1つのゲートラインを駆動するための前記ゲート制御信号を生成して前記ゲートドライバーに供給して、1水平期間毎に極性が反転する前記極性反転信号を生成して前記映像信号処理部に供給するタイミング制御部とを具備し、
前記ゲート制御信号は、1水平期間内の一部の期間に相当する第1期間と、前記第1期間に続いて前記水平期間内の残りの期間に相当する前記第1期間より短い第2期間と、前記第2期間に続いて1水平期間と同一の長さを有する第3期間とを含み、
前記ゲートドライバーは、連続する4つの水平期間に関して、第1の水平期間(MH)において前記第1及び第2期間をそれぞれ特定するゲート制御信号に応答して前記第1期間と前記第2期間とで1つずつゲートラインを駆動して、第2の水平期間(MH+1)において前記第1及び第2期間をそれぞれ特定するゲート制御信号に応答して前記第1期間と前記第2期間とで1つずつゲートラインを駆動して、第3の水平期間(MH+2)において前記第3期間を特定するゲート制御信号に応答して1つのゲートラインを駆動して、第4の水平期間(MH+3)において前記第3期間を特定するゲート制御信号に応答して1つのゲートラインを駆動することを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動装置。 - 前記ゲート制御信号は、前記ゲートラインを駆動するためのゲートハイ電圧をシフトするゲートシフトクロック信号であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置の駆動装置。
- 前記ゲート制御信号は、前記第1の水平期間(MH)乃至第4の水平期間(MH+3)を周期的に繰り返すように設定されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置の駆動装置。
- 前記極性反転信号は、それぞれの水平ラインについてフィールド毎に反転することを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置の駆動装置。
- 複数のゲートラインと複数のデータラインの交差部毎に液晶セルが形成された液晶パネルを用意する段階と、
1水平期間毎に極性が反転する極性反転信号を生成する段階と、
外部から供給された複合映像信号からテレビ映像信号を分離して前記極性反転信号に基づいて前記テレビ映像信号の極性を制御する段階と、
1水平期間において複数のゲートラインを時分割して順次駆動するか、あるいは1水平期間において1つのゲートラインを駆動するためのゲート制御信号を生成する段階と、
前記ゲート制御信号に応答して1水平期間において1または複数のゲートラインを駆動する段階と、
1水平期間における1または複数のゲートラインの駆動に同期して前記テレビ映像信号を前記データラインに供給する段階とを含み、
前記ゲート制御信号は、1水平期間内の一部の期間に相当する第1期間と、前記第1期間に続いて前記水平期間内の残りの期間に相当する前記第1期間より短い第2期間と、前記第2期間に続いて1水平期間と同一の長さを有する第3期間とを含み、
前記ゲートラインを駆動する段階は、連続する4つの水平期間に関して、第1の水平期間(MH)において前記第1及び第2期間をそれぞれ特定するゲート制御信号に応答して前記第1期間と前記第2期間とで1つずつゲートラインを駆動する段階と、
第2の水平期間(MH+1)において前記第1及び第2期間をそれぞれ特定するゲート制御信号に応答して前記第1期間と前記第2期間とで1つずつゲートラインを駆動する段階と、
第3の水平期間(MH+2)において前記第3期間を特定するゲート制御信号に応答して1つのゲートラインを駆動する段階と、
第4の水平期間(MH+3)において前記第3期間を特定するゲート制御信号に応答して1つのゲートラインを駆動する段階とを含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記ゲート制御信号は前記ゲートラインを駆動するためのゲートハイ電圧をシフトするゲートシフトクロック信号であることを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記ゲートラインを駆動する段階は、前記第1の水平期間(MH)乃至第4の水平期間(MH+3)を周期的に繰り返すことを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記極性反転信号は、それぞれの水平ラインについてフィールド毎に反転することを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
