Description
本発明の原理によれば、ディジタル放送通信システムにおいて、送信機から受信機に向けて、高優先順位成分(High Priority Component)と低優先順位成分(Low Priority Component)とを放送する。これらの各成分は、主信号(main signal)および補助信号(supplemental signal:サプリメンタル信号)を生成し、各補助信号は、対応する主信号より時間的に先行している。高優先順位成分および低優先順位成分の主信号および補助信号は合成されて、受信機に向けて放送される単一の信号になる。受信機では、時間的に先行している補助信号をバッファに記憶して、それぞれの対応する主信号と時間的に一致させる。主信号は両方とも受信機において通常の方法で処理され、フェージング事象(fading event)を検出するためにモニター(監視)される。フェージング事象が検出されたときには、フェージングを受けた主信号をそれぞれ対応するバッファリングした補助信号で置換し、通常の処理を続行する。

- 送信信号の受信を改善する方法であって、
送信機において、第1のソースから主組および補助組の高優先順位データを生成するステップと、
前記主組の高優先順位データを、前記補助組の高優先順位データよりも時間的に遅延させるステップと、
第2のソースから主組および補助組の低優先順位データを生成するステップと、
前記主組の低優先順位データを、前記補助組の低優先順位データよりも時間的に遅延させるステップと、
前記主組および前記補助組の高優先順位データおよび低優先順位データを搬送する信号を、受信機で受信されるように送信するステップと、
前記受信機で受信された前記主組の高優先順位データを、前記受信機の通常の高優先順位データ受信チャネルに供給するステップと、
前記受信機で受信された前記補助組の高優先順位データを、前記受信機の高優先順位データ用のバッファに記憶するステップと、
前記受信機で受信された前記主組の低優先順位データを、前記受信機の通常の低優先順位データ受信チャネルに供給するステップと、
前記受信機で受信された前記補助組の低優先順位データを、前記受信機の低優先順位データ用のバッファに記憶するステップと、
前記送信信号中の変化を検出するステップと、

- 第1の組の同期して符号化された第1の優先順位の信号および第2の組の同期して符号化された第2の優先順位の信号の形式で送信される信号の受信を改善する受信機であって、
前記第2の優先順位が前記第1の優先順位より低く、前記第1および第2の組がそれぞれ主信号および補助信号を含み、前記主信号および補助信号が時間的にずれて、前記補助信号がそれぞれ対応する前記主信号より先行していて、
前記信号の受信を改善する受信機は、
前記受信機で受信した前記第1の優先順位の信号の前記補助信号を記憶する第1のバッファ回路と、
前記受信機で受信した前記第2の優先順位の信号の前記補助信号を記憶する第2のバッファ回路と、
前記受信機で受信した前記主信号のそれぞれを通常の方法で処理する信号プロセッサと、
前記受信した信号中の1つ以上の望ましくない変化を検出する検出器回路と、
前記主信号それぞれの1つ以上の望ましくない変化部分を、前記記憶した補助信号の対応する部分で置換する、前記検出器回路並びに前記第1および第2のバッファ回路に合成された手段と、
を含む、前記信号の受信を改善する受信機。 - 前記受信した信号が、残留側波帯(VSB)変調信号である、請求項21に記載の信号の受信を改善する受信機。
- 前記受信信号中の前記望ましくない変化が、前記受信信号の品質と関係があり、前記検出器回路が、前記受信信号のある品質尺度をモニターする、請求項21に記載の信号の受信を改善する受信機。
- 前記品質尺度が、信号対雑音比、ビット誤り率またはパケット誤り率の尺度のうちの1つまたは複数であり、検出器が、信号対雑音比、ビット誤り率またはパケット誤り率の尺度のうちの1つまたは複数をモニターする、請求項23に記載の信号の受信を改善する受信機。
- 前記主組の高優先順位データを遅延させるステップと前記主組の低優先順位データを遅延させるステップが前記主組の高優先順位データを前記主組の低優先順位データよりも遅延させるステップからなる、請求項1に記載の信号の受信を改善する方法。
- 前記変化を検出するステップが、フェージング事象を検出するステップからなる、請求項1に記載の信号の受信を改善する方法。
