Description
本発明の導体が形成されるヒータに関して、図3のヒータ80のようなヒータは、自動車のシートへ組込むのに特に適切であることが判明している。勿論、本発明に従って形成される導体とヒータは、ボートまたは家具などのような他の製造物品において同等に利用される。

Claims (14)
- パネルとして構成される支持体と、
前記支持体の少なくとも1つの表面上にパターン付けされる導体であって、
i)伝導性エレメントと、
ii)前記伝導性エレメントを取囲む、内側部分と外側部分とを有する被覆部材と、を備える導体と、を含むヒータであって、
前記被覆部材は、少なくとも前記外側部分が所定の熱に曝されると活性化され、
前記伝導性エレメントが、前記被覆部材を活性化するに足る量の熱を放出可能であり、
前記支持体にパターン付けされた前記導体の前記被覆部材の少なくとも前記外側部分が、前記伝導性エレメントによって前記被覆部材を活性化するに足る量の熱を加えられることにより前記支持体中に組込まれることによって、前記導体が前記支持体に装着されることを特徴とするヒータ。 - 前記伝導性エレメントは、複数の金属ストランドを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のヒータ。
- 前記複数の金属ストランドは、挿入部材を少なくとも部分的に取囲むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のヒータ。
- 前記被覆部材は、前記伝導性エレメントを被膜する高分子材料であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記支持体は、屈曲自在の材料から形成されることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記支持体は、フリース、ゴーズおよびフェルトから成るグループから選択された織物から形成されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のヒータ。
- 前記被覆部材は、略均一な厚さを有し、前記均一な厚さは、0.001インチから0.1インチまでの範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記厚さは、0.005インチから0.05インチまでの範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のヒータ。
- 前記内側部分は、80℃と400℃との間の融点を有し、前記外側部分は、40℃と275℃との間の融点を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のヒータ。
- 前記内側部分は、170℃と275℃との間の融点を有し、前記外側部分は、110℃と160℃との間の融点を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のヒータ。
- 前記伝導性エレメントは、前記被覆部材の前記外側部分を軟化するに足る量の熱を放出できることを特徴とする請求項1、9及び10のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記被覆部材は、高分子被膜部材であり、前記伝導性エレメントは、前記被覆部材の前記外側部分の温度を前記外側部分の融点まで上昇するに足る熱を放出できることを特徴とする請求項1、9、10及び11のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記外側部分は、第1の高分子材料から形成され、前記内側部分は、前記第1の高分子材料とは異なる第2の高分子材料から形成されることを特徴とする請求項1、9、10、11及び12のいずれか1項に記載のヒータ。
- 前記外側部分の前記高分子材料は、PTFE、PVC、ポリプロイレン、HDPE、LDPE、塩素化ポリエチレンおよび弗素化ポリエチレンから成るグループから選択された高分子材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のヒータ。
