Description
本発明における「脱酸素剤」および類似表現は、所与の環境から酸素を消費することができるか、または、所与の環境から酸素を枯渇させることができるか、または、所与の環境からの酸素と反応することができる組成物、化合物、フィルム、フィルム層、被覆物、プラスチゾルまたはガスケットなどを意味する。
上記実施形態のそれぞれにおける容器は、容器の中に入れられている間は脱酸素剤が実質的な酸素除去活性をまったく示さないように構成される。本発明における「構成される」は、容器および容器を構成する材料の物理的および化学的な構造が、脱酸素剤が容器に保存されている間は、保存されている脱酸素剤の酸素除去能力の実質的な消耗がないように選択されることを意味する。
本発明の物品(例えば、フィルムなど)における商業的な使用のために好適な脱酸素剤が米国特許第5350622号に開示され、酸素除去を開始させる方法が米国特許第5211875号に一般的に開示されている。酸素除去を開始させるための好適な設備が米国特許第6287481号(Luthra他)に開示される。これらの特許はその全体が参照により本明細書中に組み込まれる。米国特許第5350622号によれば、脱酸素剤がエチレン性不飽和炭化水素および遷移金属触媒から作製される。好ましいエチレン性不飽和炭化水素は置換型または非置換型であり得る。本明細書中で定義される場合、非置換のエチレン性不飽和炭化水素は、少なくとも1つの脂肪族の炭素−炭素二重結合を有し、かつ100重量%の炭素および水素を含む任意の化合物である。置換されたエチレン性不飽和炭化水素は、本明細書中では、少なくとも1つの脂肪族の炭素−炭素二重結合を有し、かつ約50重量%〜99重量%の炭素および水素を含むエチレン性不飽和炭化水素として定義される。好ましい置換型または非置換型のエチレン性不飽和炭化水素は、分子あたり2つ以上のエチレン性不飽和基を有するものである。より好ましくは、3つ以上のエチレン性不飽和基を有し、かつ、重量平均分子量が1,000以上である分子量を有するポリマー化合物である。

Claims (6)
- a)脱酸素剤フィルムが、
i)酸化されうる有機化合物および遷移金属触媒、
ii)エチレン性不飽和炭化水素および遷移金属触媒、
iii)還元型キノン、光還元性の色素、あるいはUVスペクトルにおいて吸収を有するカルボニル化合物、
iv)ポリマー骨格、環状オレフィン型ペンダント基、およびオレフィン型ペンダント基をポリマー骨格に連結する連結基を有するポリマー、
v)エチレンと歪みのある環状アルキレンとの共重合体、および
vi)エチレン/ビニルアラルキル共重合体、
からなる群から選ばれてなる材料を含む、賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルムであって、ロール上に巻かれた賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルム、および
b)酸素バリア容器が、
i)エチレン/ビニルアルコール共重合体(EVOH)、ポリビニリデンジクロリド(PVDC)、塩化ビニリデン/アクリル酸メチル共重合体、ポリアミド、およびポリエステルからなる群から選ばれてなる低酸素透過性のポリマー材料、
ii)金属箔、
iii)アルミナがコートされたポリマー基体、および
iv)シリカがコートされたポリマー基体、
からなる群から選ばれてなる材料を含む、巻かれた賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルムが保存される酸素バリア容器であって、容器の中に入れられている間は巻かれた賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルムが実質的な酸素除去活性を示さないように構成された容器、
を含む物品。 - 請求項1に記載された物品であって、容器がフィルムを含み、該フィルムは、
a)脱酸素剤を含む層、および
b)ASTM D 3985−95により計測した酸素透過性が500cm3/m2・日・気圧未満であるポリマーを含む層、
を含むフィルムである物品。 - 容器がパウチの形態である請求項1に記載された物品。
- フィルムが周囲温度以下で容器に保存されてなる請求項1に記載された物品。
- a)脱酸素剤フィルムが、
i)酸化されうる有機化合物および遷移金属触媒、
ii)エチレン性不飽和炭化水素および遷移金属触媒、
iii)還元型キノン、光還元性の色素、あるいはUVスペクトルにおいて吸収を有するカルボニル化合物、
iv)ポリマー骨格、環状オレフィン型ペンダント基、およびオレフィン型ペンダント基をポリマー骨格に連結する連結基を有するポリマー、
v)エチレンと歪みのある環状アルキレンとの共重合体、および
vi)エチレン/ビニルアラルキル共重合体、
からなる群から選ばれてなる材料を含む、脱酸素剤フィルムを賦活化するために十分な線量で脱酸素剤フィルムを化学線に供するか、または、脱酸素剤フィルムを賦活化するために十分な熱に脱酸素剤フィルムを供すること;
b)ロール上に賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルムを巻くこと;および
c)酸素バリア容器が、
i)エチレン/ビニルアルコール共重合体(EVOH)、ポリビニリデンジクロリド(PVDC)、塩化ビニリデン/アクリル酸メチル共重合体、ポリアミド、およびポリエステルからなる群から選ばれてなる低酸素透過性のポリマー材料、
ii)金属箔、
iii)アルミナがコートされたポリマー基体、および
iv)シリカがコートされたポリマー基体、
からなる群から選ばれてなる材料を含む、容器の中に入れられている間は脱酸素剤が実質的な酸素除去活性を示さないように構成された酸素バリア容器に、巻かれた賦活化された脱酸素剤フィルムを保存すること、
を含む方法。 - 脱酸素剤フィルムが少なくとも300mJ/cm2の量の化学線に供せられる請求項5に記載の方法。
