現在、パソコン等の電子機器においては、特開平5−242663号公報(G11C5/14)、特開平8−227385号公報(G06F12/16)等に記載されているようなカード状のメモリをスロットを介して着脱可能としたり、あるいはメインボードに着脱可能とすることにより機能の拡張を行なえるようになっている。

この種メモリカードに採用されるメモリ素子は、書替の容易性及びメモリ保持の容易性等を考慮してSRAM(Static Random AccessMemory)が一般的となっている。また、この種メモリカードは、特開平8−227385号公報にも記載されているように、メモリカードが装着された電子機器より供給される電圧でも、メモリカード内に内蔵された電池でも内蔵のメモリ素子をバックアップ可能となっている。従って、メモリカードを電子機器より取り外した場合でもメモリ内容は保持され、再利用が可能である。

然るにこのように電子機器から取り外した状態においてもメモリ内容が保持されるということは、第三者がこのメモリカードを盗んでその内容を簡単に読取ることが可能ということであり、機密性の点で大いに問題があった。

本発明は上記課題を解決するために、メモリ素子と、バックアップ用電池と、少なくとも外部より供給される駆動電圧を受け取るための第1端子及び上記メモリ素子への駆動電圧の供給を許可する外部からの外部許可信号を受取るための第2端子を有する外部接続用コネクタと、複数の接点を有するスイッチ群と、該スイッチ群の各接点の状態を検出し、上記メモリ素子への駆動電圧の供給を許可する内部許可信号を出力する手段と、一端が上記メモリ素子に接続され、他端が上記バックアップ用電池及び上記第1端子に接続されると共に上記外部又は内部許可信号のいずれかに応答してオンするスイッチング回路とを備えた。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は本発明を適用してなるメモリカード1の一実施例を示す回路図であり、このカード1は図示しない電子機器等のメインボードと着脱可能に電気的に接続するための外部接続用のコネクタ2、第1、第2の逆流防止ダイオード3、4、電池5、SRAMからなるメモリ素子6、複数のディップスイッチからなるスイッチ群7、該スイッチ群7の各スイッチの状態を検出する検出回路8、例えばスイッチングトランジスタからなる第1のスイッチング回路9、例えばスイッチングトランジスタからなる第2のスイッチング回路10と放電抵抗11とからなる放電手段12を有する。
